❤
To the expert guitarist: Is he playing an open tuning with the slide or just choosing his phrasing on standard tuning? Thanks
This is the first version I heard of this song, probably around when it was first released. I believe I saw it on some local MTV style music channel (analog!) around 2013. It just captivated me. Back then, I was an aspiring musician and lyricist. Now, I'm a busking poet, slinging verses on the streets, much like these guys are slinging tunes. Thanks for everything, Walkmen!
Dude. I can't believe how old this video is... one of the videos stuck in my head for years. Sad it only ever got 14,000 views to be lost by the RUclips Algorithms. You guys rock. Bless your faces.
🤩
1:19 hol up the camera's on me

Can’t have gin without juniper trees sipping rain alone blue as blood #haiku #blueasyourblood #juniper #gin
It's good to come back to this. Classic deer tick. This is even before Ian!
Only just found this gem
Lyrics: Off night teens with lesser guides Enough of my old ways Off white scenes, messed and lined Who are you? And where am I? I know a way through the camo I know a way to get clear Off time dreams and diamond rings So what if I won't stay? Tossed in bleach and extra thin Who are you? And where am I? I know a way through the camo I know a way to get clear.
Now everyone's getting off Ended up in such a, such a familiar phase When it started, it was all so foreign to me The company I keep Who's taking sides? Keeps the lights on, round here Now give me the line, try to explain to me How it is you sleep? The company I keep Who you're calling cheap? Anyone can see that I paid through the nose Some couldn't see that no one ever sees that The company I keep, no I don't mind mistakes I go crawling back for anyone else's sake I admit this associations bleak The company I keep So everyone shut your mouths, now Sit back and watch it, such a smile What an awful thing for anyone else to see I guess that's just the company I keep No, that's the company I keep
Oh please. There's no soul and no pain in it. There's no cornbread and black eyed peas, nobody wants filet mignon blues. Hell I think the Soggy Bottom Boys would do a better job.😂😂😂😂
shit I love this performance, watch it probably 100 times a year
Que dice en español??
Beautiful cover
Wow !
This song is about a couple of criminals, you know who you are...
So Good Deer Tick only shazzamed these guys from a surf vid 8 weeks ago Can’t get enough
still a banger in 2020 ❤️
Great song. Reminds a little bit of Portishead "The rip"
One of the most underrated bands around... AND HOW ABOUT THAT SINGING?!?
For real, the most underrated indie band in the world
Totally agree.
@@jonag9524 def one of them but have you checked out high hazels? There’re very underrated as well but they made a cover on this song Nd it’s amazing!!
I miss you guys... please come back
Lightnin' Hopkins: classic. Deer Tick: making Americana great again. Playing "Bring Me My Shotgun" in a shooting gallery... PRICELESS.
oh snap!
Don't you say that I'm lazy I didn't even want to go there Lost kilometers and white stairs but I go always, go always I go always, go always I go always I don't want to hear about the way you feel Naked and slumped in a folding chair You wouldn't want it any other way Now that all others have gone away To walk among lesser rain Light is the curse that remains And you're better with your right arm Yes, the feeling you're counting on And you need it clearly Might you feel your work was wasted here Might you feel your curse has disappeared Echoing the life l waited for Left to hang out on the line Light is the curse left behind And you're better with your right arm The feeling you're counting on And you need it clearly Might you feel your work was wasted here Might you feel your curse has disappeared Hey young one What were you doing? What were you running from? What were you running from?
Amazing !! I need the chords and tabs of the main guitare it's so wonderful I wanna play it too :D
Rhode Island's finest.
I love your voice!!!
wait a minute, that's not Ian, who is this playing lead guitar with them?
i think it's Michael Trent from Shovels and Rope. ❤
my goodness.
Little too much and a bit too loud tambourine.
58landman Dennis rules at tambourine. I'm gonna marry him.
well, good for you.
Such a cool video that fits the song perfectly.
Great!
Guys I am my own and everyone else's worst critic and you sold me on that...the feeling, vibe and groove are there...p.s. the stand up bass and shooting gallery is creative. Did yall just happen to jam there or plan to record this classic there?
I love this! I see a lot of potential here!
great great great guys! Love how you deliver that voice. You guys understand Blues. (not everyone does)
amen also a lot don't understand the voodoo and how you don't start phrases (guitar and vocal) on the 1 but more closer to the 2 but really 1.5 to get that mojo...I got 3 minor blues/blues rock songs I have going on my next record "devil in my shadow", "a worried mind" and "midnight train" the first one and third one I am real proud of cuz its scary like im conjuring the devil himself to come face me and on midnight train i got my slide guitar and harp in unison and it sounds like a freight train...oh "hell hounds and ghost trains" is another one I am proud of. I will put them up after I release album. Glad to see somebody that knows what its all about.
fucking amazing!!!
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Yellow Ostrich reminded me of Architecture in Helsinki, which I liked. Traffique seemed more like a parody than a band, but I did like when he did his little last song, I think he was just trying to hit too many notes that he just couldn't. And I'll have what highlife is having. Overall good stuff.
Dude, this is one of the best cover I've ever heard. Really nice!
this song makes me feel emotional and its the first time in listening to it. it makes me want to have new feelings.
Ahhhh dem Blues
Model of piano 1:40?)
4:20 where'd his legs go!
Hehe. I see what you mean. It's right there though, in _camouflage_ :D
guau!!!!
that sweet voice , can you sing me to sleep?
Whoa omg a casio sk-5... taking it back to 1987, wish I still had mine when I was 5
LIGHTNIN'
Who's that shreddin' the tambourine? He's good.......
Dennis, their percussionist
