    It was very brave of this interviewer to admit he didn't understand this simple movie.

    This is such a good example of how not to do an interview. The problem isn’t the answers he is looking for, they are all valid, it’s the tone and aggressive wording of the questions. It feels more like he’s given a critical appraisal rather than conducting an interview.

  • @Grigoris_
    @Grigoris_ Год назад

    The questions themselves aren't rude, in fact I think a healthy dialogue between filmmakers and viewers is needed, however this interviewer manages to contradict himself and be very passive aggresive at the same time. Again, the questions are FAIR, we don't need to only praise directors, but when he mentioned that he was already familiar with The Lord of the Rings Duncan quickly reminded him that he's in a similar position as the gamers who already know the rules of Warcraft.

      Great movie, interviewer was brainless... green magic bad, blue magic good... orc world dying, human world not. This is pretty easy to grasp.

    What's really sad about this situation is that Duncan Jones defended his work like a professional when attacked by that buffoon, but the film still was a piece of shite and flopped. So everyone lost, but Jones looked better while losing.

    I went to uni with the interviewer. I don’t have anything bad to say about him. He comes across as a nerd but he has this genuinely edgy quality about him believe it or not which might explain that ending. He’s wasted as mainstream journo.

  • @Quantumwolf45

    The movie was a failure. I've been playing the game since release. I only started playing it because of the lore. All video game movies have been failures because they don't focus on good story-telling. They expect graphics and CGI to carry the movie alone. The movie was easily just as bad as Mario Bros. Duncan is blowing smoke here. Most people in the world do not play 'World of Warcraft', 'Warcraft 3' and/or read the books. Btw, this is a click-bait video. The interviewer didn't actually walk out. The interview was over. He said thank you and walked out. Activision Blizzard is desperately trying to trick people into thinking their movie doesn't such.

    • @FunnieApple
      @FunnieApple 3 года назад

      Dude you're the only one blowing smoke here. This movie is nowhere near being Super Mario levels of bad and Duncan answered the interviewers questions just fine. He gave his reasons for not adapting the lore you love and it's because it wouldn't be possible because of its length and complexity. He chose certain things and changed others with the blessing of Blizzard because he wanted to give it a bit of a different take. I for one like the change as he's right, having the "creatures are all bad" fantasy trope is tired and old, this movies strongest qualities came from the orcs and their changes likely made by Duncan. Also sure Rosser didn't walk out but he ended the interview abruptly and rudely, you can tell by his mannerisms something about it seemed to for some reason bother him. Even Duncan is confused by his rude reaction. It's perfectly fine if you didn't like the movie, but the interviewer was being a dick here.

    • @EQOAnostalgia
      @EQOAnostalgia Год назад

      Great film, you overhyped it, it's your fault lol. It's a dumb fantasy world about dumb orcs fighting humans. Shit isn't complex.

    I thought Duncan Jones dealt with this interview very well. Interviewer seemed to want to insult the work, but didn't get a rise out of Jones at all; then got offended by something benign and disappeared. Bizarre behaviour.

    Although there are a lot of things that disappointed me and things I would've wanted different in the Warcraft movie, I think Duncan Jones handled this interview very well. I don't think he really gets what Warcraft is about but this was a watchable though forgettable film. In the games the Horde has always been the bad guys (but not pure evil kind of bad guys) and trying to make them into something else lessens the story and it's no longer Warcraft. What is Durotan even doing in this movie?

    The movie was impressing in his own right, yet my real problem was that the movie was very fast paced and several severe changes to characterizations, what the "critic" point out are valid points, but there are other ways to do that. The movie covers the plot of the novel The Last Guardian, where it explains why/ how Medivh was corrupted and by whom. *Spoilers* below, for those who didn't read the book and might want to do it. (Also, the las guardian is a novel part of a series of novels that covers the horde before they got to Azeroth, after they got there and the conclussion.) Gul'dan as a character in the novel is... let's say, imagine a mix of Darth Sidious (except he Gul'dan had no fighting abilities) and the Godfather, meaning he didn't rely on brute strenght and threats to control the horde, he did it through a vast secret cult while letting Blackhand think he was ruling. And Gul'dan was not driven by conquest, he was driven by power, mystical power. Garona.. well, they were close with that character, except why she kills the king, but, mneah, that was the least of the changes i think.

    Mr. Jones handled himself exceptionally well. His arguments were well made and delivered. The interviewer was becoming more and more unprofessional as the interview went on, and I didn't much appreciate it. I love seeing interviewers criticize, but in a professional, polite, intelligent, and open-minded way. Mr. Rosser was not this.

    The interviewer was bad at his job, I mean, the warcraft movie was a puddle of steaming dog shit, don't get me wrong, but what was that guy expecting? Did he want Duncan to admit they made a shitty movie? "Yeah guys, it's pretty bad, we paid a meth addict to write the script, a hobo for the dialogue and some lifeless mannequins to play the part, don't go see it."
