Honda VF750C Magna - Modified Stock Exhaust vs. Cobra Slashcut Slip On
Просмотров 103 тыс.10 лет назад
Honda VF750C Magna 1996 - Sound comparison between mod. stock exhaust and Cobra exhaust Oxford Heated Grips, Progressive Suspension (front), Corbin Gunfighter seat, Custom headlight, Pro Oiler w/ GPS, Cobra Slashcut Slip On exhaust, Re-jetted, Mapam Forward Controls. I tried to make the audio as good as possible but it still doesn't give proper credit to Cobras :)
if you remember how was the stock exhaust modified
Is that a Suzuki Intruder front light?
Where’s the hp results?
Where did you buy the forward controls for a magna? Thanks
🔥
I bought a cobra exhaust for a honda magna vf and the package came without seals that cannot be taken from the old exhaust. I am totally disappointed with this Cobra company that effectively robs you of the satisfaction of putting your new exhaust when it arrives. Because I am not able to put two 2 dollar garnishes in the package. Disappointing Disappointing You pay to get on your nerves
혼다는 레블 따위나 만들지 말고 이렇게 멋진것좀 다시 만들어주세요
What foot controls did you have? Those looked real nice.
So what were the numbers?
Not figures told , so what was the point
No figures printed out ,so what was the point
Horse Poweer?
NICE
i wanna buy a motorcycle like this
Nice sound 👍 But your head light look beautiful on your bike 👍👍 can you help me to get one on my bike, where did you bye it? Howard from Norway
Damn didn’t even tell us what the results were, I want my 1.40 minutes back
Now go back n pick the engine up !
Can some one tell me what seats are those? I’ve been looking for seats forever now and can’t find any.
CORBIN
That sound is hot
I crashed my magna going 80mph
Ok, now what?
Where did you purchase the Cobra slip ons? And what is the digital display mounted on the back of the radiator? And also the control box mounted below the instrument cluster?
Поздравляю! Хороший звук! Ты-молодец, любишь свою Магну!
So cool to see video will you did not have to put stage 1 2 3 4 kit on the make it go good good
How hard is it to work on this bike? Just bought one
Have fun
@@buttersbeta9859 is it really that's bad?
Dk network yes is just packed in with a lot of vacuum lines make shure to keep track of those and be patient also keep in mind no vacuum= no fuel
What is that silver module on your dash? And the little display on your radiator near the key?
Silver module with a knob was adjustment for heated grips and the little display was control unit for automatic chain lubrication.
@@zuba3649 so fancy!
tsup.fi/~zubatin/Valkyrie/dynovedot.pdf Couldn't figure out how to attach anything here. I guess it's not possible so there's the URL for you.
aaand to clear things up: This video was taken just a bit after I got the bike. That .pdf has 2 different dyno runs. The first was just ater complete carb rework and re-jetting to 38/105. The second dyno run was done at the same shop and after some slight modifications: 6 degree ignition mod and K&N air filter.
@@zuba3649 do you feel the difference with the 6 degree wheel? I'm interested in better fuel economy aswell as power of course.
What kind of pipes are those?
Cobras
An amazing sound of exhalations. This power is detectable!
Update: During last winter I did a complete carb rebuild and changed pilot jets from #35 -> #38 and main jets from #100 -> #105 Another dyno was done today and results were 92 hp and 144 Nm. And it's not backfiring anymore on bigger rpm's, only slight popping below ~1400 rpm. Maybe this could be fixed with mixture screws. With straight pipes it's bit too loud for my taste so I ordered mufflers and they should arrive any day now. Installing them will of course change everything yet again. But how much, that remains to be seen. Luckily they are easy to remove if performance impact is too big without jetting it again.
Infact there are mufflers under that black black soot and they are quieter than the ones I just got >.<
Is there an update on this beautiful bike? I would love to know.
Well, yes there is! As I mentioned before, carbs were re-done some time ago, the jets are still the same: Pilots #38 and Mains #105. I wasn't quite sure if it was running rich, at least it wasn't acting up in any way. Although when riding with my friends they said that she was giving out some serious fuel fumes :) So, this was the point when I got thinking that even with those quite "open" Cobras she still might run a bit rich. And I guess I was right on that. During the summer of 2018 I went to Areka (www.areka.fi/) to get the 6 degree ignition mod done with a K&N filter. I have dyno runs from before and after. And yes, both results are from the same shop (www.pratkapaja.fi). 6 dgr & K&N combined was + 6,5 HP, not bad I think! :)
I agree, much too loud for long trips. I prefer my stock Valkyrie exhaust.
From Tim Helander, not Jean.
Jesus christ, I need to tune the carbs on my Magna
Now that's my kind of VTEC
I never understood why people think when an engine backfires it's lean. You have to have fuel to have an explosion and this is exactly what is happening, unburnt fuel is what is lighting off in the exhaust when it mixes with oxygen. Even though the bike is lean, when the throttle is shut some fuel still gets into the cylinder but can't get enough air to fire off and it spills into the exhaust. Reversion brings air into the exhaust where it mixes with the unburnt fuel. This is a product of carbureted engines and generally not present on fuel injected engines. (most if not all have fuel cut-off on deceleration)
Father Merrin the reason why the engine backfires when it's running lean is that the lean mixture burns slower than rich mixture( or stechiometric). When the burning is slow enough to let the unburnt mixture(fuel) reach a hot exhaust a popping or backfireing appears.
Good luck with that theory. Merrin is correct
Harleys don't cut the fuel on decel, but you are right popping when running lean has never made sense
@@Bass.Player It can be both. It can backfire when its rich or lean, it depends on the scenario. If incomplete combustion occurs because the mixture isn't right, access fuel gets out, whether that's because there wasn't enough to ignite under the compression stroke, or there was extra gas that wasn't burned. Generally, lean and rich backfires are very easy to tell apart, especially if you can rev and hear the motor. Running lean is never good since it will let the engine run hotter and pipes get hotter.
@@jetstream454 Popping can occur in lean conditions on some engines, but most of the time it is a rich mixture that pops. It depends on the specifications of the engine. I can audibly tell this is a rich mixture on the bike, possibly could take in some more air.
Coolest sound is hearing all the pipes running behind your head. Makes this really slightly dissonant chord.
back fire -to lean - adjust jets
Sounds fantastic! I ride the same Magna (black model) and I really enjoy the humming sound these bikes have. It is a distinct sound that makes these quiet beasts unique. It sounds like the after market exhaust didn't change the sound and I like that. Did you get any additional hp out of it?
After complete carb tuning job at shop it was at 78,43 hp. So +2 hp :)
I know you said you sold it, but did you have to do a rejet or just have the carbs tuned? I'm picking up a used set for my Magna today.
Magna was sold some weeks back. Current ride is a '97 Honda Valkyrie. Fun fun fun :)
where did you get your forward controls?
nice bike Jani
I bought this bike just this spring and haven't had time to do any work on it yet. Now about 4 months and 8000 miles later I'm pretty sure that it has stock jets. It definitely runs lean. Also I think that those cobra pipes don't have any baffles in them. Not much left on this season and white winter is closing. I'm planning to take the carbs apart and do a complete rework on them, including rejetting. I still haven't decided if I do the desmog mod or not. I'll know better once I have the bike under work. Bike was imported from US around 2013-2014 and the PO was DOD / Patrick Airforce Base. It has the actual registration sticker on left front shock shield :)
87hp and 126 Nm They guy with dyno said that adding 15% you get actual engine power. Guess there's differences between dynos, go figure.
I assume he meant what you said, 15% and not 15 percentage points, so thats 87 x 1.15 = 100.05 hp and 126 x 1.15 = 144.9 Nm = 106.9 foot-pounds torque. This compares pretty closely to published figures of 100 hp and 96 foot-pounds torque.
Thanks! Curious how this compares to a stock set up. Did you rejet the carbs wit the exhaust? I have a '97 bone stock.
Sounds legit, this guy got pretty close number too ruclips.net/video/ZctEGzHdd3w/видео.html
126 Nm = 92.93283 Foot-Pound (ft∙lb)
Newer chiefs put that out
What were the results?
Moved the shortcuts upwards a bit
Why is the ground white?
uh snow
Thanks, Sheldon.
+carl beherrell what
What SEAT is on your bike?
Okay, thank you. Going to buy one then. I have 1 more question. I am trying to find a set of pipes also for the Magna. Don't want the extremely loud Cobra Drag pipes. Seems that Vance & Hines doesn't make a long shot style cruiser type (don't want short shots}. Do you have any experience in Pipe selections / rejetting?
get the matching rear passenger footpegs, it looks terrible without them ;)
it doesnt look terrible:) but once you see it your eye always goes for it, it drove me crazy on mine :)
Jani Suomalainen ha ha ha i bet you cant stop noticing them now, it is the first thing i look at on a Magna :) okay, the standard HM1033G look bad, I fitted the HM1033GN but had to file down the shaft, fit a stainless sleeve and then fit a depth stop to make it sit correctly, i uploaded video of it last week
Mistä oot ton satulan hommannut?ei varmaan oo alkuperäinen.
GREAT VIDEO I HAVE A 2001 MAGNA THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM REMOVED THE BAFFFLES AND END CAPS ,, TO LOAD IM ORDERING THESE COBRA SLASH CUTS FOR MY MAGNA THANKS FOR YOUR POST IT WAS VERY HELPFUL
much bassier , nice ,,did you jet the carbs
oh just noticed your other post , do you know what size jet they used and if it was adequate
Wow sounds great, good looking magna. I have an 01 and this is the year mine is getting done with accessories just got all the comfy stuff new seat and leatherlyke bags but exhaust is next. One question I can tell that it definitely sounds better than the mod but the performance out of the pipes, is it worth it??? Already have the K and N on the way.
Great!!!!!!!
