Still working well?
Yep, been using it all week on a fishing holiday. I was going to upgrade and remake it, but haven't bothered as like they say, "if its not broke, don't fix it!"
@@thespinnerman3238 the boards holding up? Was worried about the weather with wood up there
No problem as yet. I am sure at some point they may need replacing, but for now they are still sound.
could you flip her the other way or is this better skeg up i mean
Sits better on the roofs bars that way up.
Beautiful! Thanks 'mate!
Well done. Can i have link for electronic winch?

How many!? 😮. Nice bream btw
Others had a 4lb plus.... I was a bit gutted as I hadn't. Spent half the week moping. When I returned and looked at the footage, I couldn't believe how many big perch I'd had 15+ 2lb, 10+ 2.5lb and 6 over 3lb. Biggest to 3 lb 14.5oz. How can I not be happy with that?!!
@@thespinnerman3238 good point and that’s very honest of you. Specimen hunting must appear so strange to non anglers. Always reminds me of giant vegetable growers.
Looks like you weren’t short of footage then! Looks like a fantastic trip with some great perch caught. Nice one🙂
Seems like a canny trip mate. Some nice stripeys there. I’ve got visions of Mary poppins on a kayak now. 😊
Biggest was 3lb 14.5 oz..... Was so after a 4lber....🥺. As for the brolly... Worked a treat. Thankfully the wind played ball lol
Thank you for this video! Have been thinking about this concept and it this great to see someone build it and worked beautifully. As I have a 21ft tandem that weighs 100lbs.
15 months on and still working a treat!
Great Idea. I may do the same thing but for side load on a truck roof rack. Have a front mounted winch that I could use with a pulley to change directional force.
Genius idea sir. Thank you. I have been trying to think of a way to incorporate a winch I already owned into my last kayak rack build.
Cheers for the comment! To be fair, I just adapted similar types of loading systems. Works a treat, and didn't break the bank. 👍
@@thespinnerman3238 Yeah but using the ladder is a great idea. Kudos to whoever did it first :). I started building an intricate system of tracks for a rack that did something similar, but it was so expensive I junked the idea. Now I just have two PVC tubes on top of my pickup racks set at the same distance as the grooves on the bottom of my kayak. I lift one end up onto it and lift the back and push it on. It helps but still difficult. Coming up with ways to adapt what I already have, and this might help.
Brilliant using the ladder,...just got a big ,heavy pdl yak...and I have to build something like yours to get it on the construction rack on my truck,....thanks for the idea...thanks for sharing..
Cheers. Decided to use the ladder as I didnt just want to pull the kayak up on its own as the whole weight would be pushing on a small section of the hull as it tips over onto the roof. Think its only a matter of time before the scupper holes would crack. This way the ladder takes the force.
You could probably lose both spreader rods... save time and weight. I'm using a similar setup (2 ea 10' 2x4s and four right-angle brackets on the high end to lock 'em onto the rack's lower rail) to load a 16 foot fiberglass canoe onto my contractor's rack on my 1996 B2500 Dodge, but I need to use a cheap blue-tooth winch to haul the canoe up. Works like a champ and I can use the winch for other purposes.
To be fair i did remove the spreader rods, shortly after making the video👍
There's some right , sergeant's in there now , there munching through ,all those Ronnie's and Reggie,s .( Kray s)
Every get any brown trout on Ken mate?
Never have bud. Seen some topping once. I do know people that have though.
Beautiful! Once the kids are old enough I’m coming to this! With it without them.
Allright Graham ?
All good Nicolas
Nice video Graham. I think you win the contest for most pike caught in a kayak video-looks like you had some great sport!
I did fear the video went on a little longer than most of my others but just had so much footage....lol
Haha-too much footage is a nice problem to have!!
Nice big perch
3lb 15oz. Was convinced it was a pike when it took off.
Nice one Graham-looks like a good trip!
Was hard work, but worth the effort.I love this comp, one of my favourites.
Nice video spinnerman. 😊
Mullet and bass? Quite different to home for us
I like it, what's the length on the boards and I assume that's all thread in between them, what size is it?
2.4 metre lengths of timber, 14mm dowling with R clips.
