I have this one on vinyl, got it by either trading or bulk buying from 625 Thrashcore sometime around 2006-07. All I know about the band is that they are Japanese, and this record rips!

Classic early 2000's Portland punk. Bought mine at Jackpot Records on Hawthorne back in the day.
@thunderbayvice if you like this, definitely check out the Toolin' For a Warm Teabag EP. It's basically the same set of songs (recorded in the same session if I'm not mistaken) but it has a much different vibe. They did some cool stuff after this record and Toolin' but imo never hit the highs of those two records again. The stuff after that is just so slickly recorded, I like the songs but there's nothing particularly chaotic or wild about the presentation, except the cover art (you know). There are songs that are so good they transcend the recording (Drugstore for sure) but I wish they had stuck with the crappy off the cuff recording style of these two records. Anyway, thanks for posting this, that's my 2 cents on the Dwarves 😎
Crank Or Toolin ... Which one came out first ? The Free Cocaine CD has the track listing mixed up
@@punkratsxxx I couldn't tell ya for sure man, but I think Toolin' came out in 88/89 and Crank came out in 90/91. Check discogs for sure
@@punkratsxxxToolin’ was first, it’s the earlier and gnarlier version of Lucifer’s Crank basically. When you think about it, LC was like another remodeling of the band occurring; this time they’re staying dirty-minded and drug-fueled but doing so with cleaner recordings, a la BG&P.
For the record I think Toolin’ is leagues better than LC, it almost has a raw d-beat vibe to it at points and it fits their aesthetic at the time.

Bafabegiya were rad. I ran the website for their label, which was owned by the singer from Bafa, Joe, who did vocals, Justin played guitar I believe, and Josh played drums. Tim played bass. Super sick band and even sicker dudes. I got this 7", hand numbered still from Joe and the guys. Really good hardcore from Reno, Nevada. Dudes were in a ton of other Reno bands back then too. Disconnect, This Computer Kills, The Spotlight Syndicate... Josh did a bunch of solo stuff too (he got down on basically every instrument he touched). Fun times and good memories. Solid guys. Miss this stuff.. Oh, and the art was done by Jeremy Forson. He did a lot of good punk/hardcore bands' album art.
