If you are very careful with budgeting/buying sales/using coupons you might be able to get away with $200 in groceries/month/person, unless you opt for a meal plan at your school (would be more expensive though). Phone plans can be around $50+ minimum/ month (~1 GB data), transportation would heavily depend on your area, if you need a car or not, but most would (most of NB doesn't have public transit or very inadequate transit), and a decent used car would be $10 000k minimum and gas is around $2/L . Admission: depends on the college and your background Weather: hope you like cold, snow, and very variable weather! It's the Maritimes, so it's possible to see -40 in the winter and +40 in the summer (though not every year; the average in the middle of winter/summer would be -5 to -20 and +20 to +30), and very large temperature differences from day to day. We can get storms with freezing rain/ice, or that dump a foot of snow in a few hours, and thunderstorms/tropical storms that can cause a lot of damage to crops and the power system. Not to say that you should expect those every day, because overall it is quite mild/pleasant, but that's what is possible to see here. It is more mild closer to the coast, and more "extreme" as you move inland toward Fredericton and up the river toward Edmunston.
