Sentinels vs Duck Daddies Summer A Championship Game
The Ice Forum Summer A season came down to one game, the championship game between the Sentinels and Duck Daddies. This was a matchup we wanted as there was a little bad blood with this team, particularly one of their players after he laid an illegal hit on one of our defenders, then tried fighting her.
We came out of the gates flying scoring two goals before they even got their second shot on net. We put 20 shots on net in the first period, scoring three goals. In the second and third period we got more efficient without shooting, scoring three on nine shots in the second, and three on eight shots in the third.
In our own end, we didn't play great but played well enough. Shots were close...

We dominated the start of this game, the last regular season game of the summer AAHL season. We had 11 shots on goal and a 1-0 lead before I saw my first shot halfway through the first period. This was an ugly game start to finish. Both goalies let the first shots we saw go past us into the net. We only had one of our regular defensemen which explains the 62 shots I saw on the night. Despite the final score, this was a close game all the way through. Despite putting 46 shots on goal, we only managed 5 goals on our way to a 5-1 win. I'm still having troubles with my cameras, but I think it's because I've been using a 1TB memory card in one and it is just too big for the camera. @@JV12382 What? I'm not saying he's a bad goalie, but everything about the form and stance is insanely bad lol look at the goals that went in. 80% of those shots go in if this is a C+ tier or higher game.
@@AHFP29 In the words of The Dude, "That's, like, your opinion man." You're not wrong in that my stance is not what coaches would advocate for. Your assertion that 80% of the goals were because of my form and stance is off base though. Those goals were because I am too slow for an old guy, or chose the wrong tool from my toolbox.
You are extremely flexible and athletic. It's impressive. Even as a young man, my body couldn't move and flex like that. Fun to watch for sure. Good luck in the playoffs!!
Some great saves Joe! Some were very athletic but as a child of the 80s, the stacking the pads was my favorite.

That first goal over your blocker side shoulder was nasty. Had some heat on it and was labeled for that top corner. Hard shot to stop. You played really well throughout the game though. Looked very solid!

I've played against Sam many times in hockey new england and the now gone new england senior hockey league. He's a great guy with good taste in goalie gear. He's a lot better then me seeing how I have 2 bad hips. It's always a good time to share the ice with him. I enjoyed the podcast as well as the conversation.
