Other old place with many pools of water is the Maze of Lost Souls, where it tells you to "follow the water" or something like that. I wonder if cleaning them up could change something there.

Are you still playing or trying to solve it? I don't think it's a matter of cleaning all that... In fact i think people are overthinking It and the solution should be easier (the actions to liberate the fire elemental are not hard to do...) And maybe in order to do something with the djinn we must first liberate vampire and behemoth (2 more levers to activate and see what happens) If anyone want to share toughts i just bought premmy 2 days ago to get into ST and try and try again, good luck all btw

When you are in the tower try putting scarab amulet or this second thing from ancient scarabs on altar on the right (7:57) (2 gas fields) and pull lever at the bottom.

Its just a game mechanic. If you pour water or something else on the ground its timer starts and changes the IDs of pools. You will get pool of water p.1 instantly, then pool of water p.2 after few minutes and so on. However if you create this pool of water/slime in map editor it has no timer so it lasts forever. When you used fresh water from pot on a ground, the previous stain was exchanged for new one from your pot. Try the same with wine and water. First pour wine on a ground and then some other liquid, for ex. water. You will see that wine on ground will be exchanged for water pool.

Maybe doesn’t need to be cleaned, filling the black “pot” (te one that had water) with blood or demonic blood and put it into the flames to see what happens
