I hate to bring up Rivals every time OW2 is mentioned but …really? Their game is nose diving into irrelevance and they’re still trying to milk every penny out of their players? I still have love for Overwatch but the game deserves to die if this is what they release while hemorrhaging players.

Overwatch deserves getting dunked on at every opportunity. The way Blizzard neglected that game for years needs to be punished and Marvel rivals is doing that perfectly. No offense but I want Marvel rivals to drive Overwatch into the ground, just to teach Blizzard a much needed lesson

Rivals has an AOE sustain problem. The same problem that made OW go the route of role queue. Was role queue the solution, I don't think so. But they did something, they had to Rivals will have make that decision. And when they do, they will lose alot of players.

All games have balancing issues lmao. That being said OW gets alot of hate personally bc of the lies Activision Blizzard had made towards the community. PvE cancelled, taking away loot boxes (our only form of free cosemetics) for a store nobody wanted. Just alot of negatives. Some positives that made the game stand out which are cool like 5v5 and some new hero mechanics but overall disappointing to the casual side of gamers who they were marketing too. Those negatives pushed people away, streamers of OW moved to Rivals bc Rivals just feels like an overall better game atm. Yeah its honeymoon feeling but it has been a month and a half and the game hasnt been trickling down since launch. Maybe 3 months itll go down but i wouldnt expect a huge dip. I find it healthy for OW to have this competition really because, they dont feel the need for change without it. Honestly idk what OW can do to make me wanna return. I enjoyed the game somewhat but Rivals just has a better feeling to it. Could be the 3rd person aspect. Could be the well known characters of the marvel universe but i never had the feeling of wanting to play a hero shooter like i do for Rivals. Idk. Ik its alot of OW slander here but, OW just upsets me mainly how the devs handled/lied to its community is scummy.

As a fighting game player, I'm amused. New fighting games get this treatment while at six months, it changes. And from what I'm gleaning with OW players, they have a lot of built up frustration after so much neglect by Blizzard which they can now get out with Rivals being a viable alternative. So it does wear off but it does take time. 😅

Rivals is 100% honeymoon phase. Game has so much broken design. Mantis putting you to sleep when missing you with her nade. Moonknight killing you without LOS. Endless deployables. A lot of visual clutter. No progression system besides a ranekd number. You cant even grind out the battle pass because it is bottlenecked by timers. Everyone is exploring all the new content now and having a good time but all of the above, plus no role lock and broken team ups will make it a balancing hell for ranked. Game will stay for casuals tho.

I've tried out Marvel Rivals for a few hours but it still feels really confusing and messy, even the menu system seems somehow too convoluted. But I've still played some matches and it felt more like casual fun, for better or worse. If we lost or I totally sucked it didn't bug me as much as in OW. But then again if we won it was like "ok" whereas if I totally nail a match in OW I feel so good about myself and almost like a champion (yes, even if I'm silver lol). Of course that might change if I gave Rivals the same amount of attention. But I think now is absolutely the time for Blizzard to step up and give us some great new content. For example I've been dying for a new map that makes me feel as good as King's Row, let us have it.
