Ice Up Industries Cold Plunge Review and FAQs
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.10 месяцев назад
In this video, I am going to share my experience with the Ice Up Industries Barrel Cold Plunge. I cover the setup process, design details, needed upgrades, required maintenance, and recommendations if this is the right cold plunge for you. I also share my frequently asked questions on everytihng cold plunging.
Any problems with the water pump in the chiller? Mine failed after about2-3 months. That turned out to actually be an electrical issue that was covered by my warranty. Now, I am having a different issue with low pressure from the pump. The pressure loss litterally happened over night and I can't correlate it to a specific cause. I will be reaching out to Lucas at Ice Up Industries today to hopefully get some support. Just wondering if I am the only one having pump issues with this chiller.
same problem sounds like., e6 error - low flow - waiting on reply from company for about two weeks.
Did you try to check the filter? I had that issue a few times and had to try two different new filters in order to restore flow.
@@SteveK-fh2sg I've had my chiller for a year... just started beeping with the E6 error.
Great video… wondering how you empty it and maintain the chiller/ hoses when emptied. Also- currently my chiller isn’t cooling- does it need to defrost ever?
I woudl typically unplug the power from the chiller and remove the bottom hose from the tub. This would allow it to drain. It was kind of a mess but in my situation it was ok becuase it is near a drain. Some people have used electric pumps to pump the water out or route the water with a hose. If it is not cooling something may be going on with the chiller. I would leave it unplugged overnight and see what happens.

I wonder if the barrel itself is a bit insulated and I can use it without the chiller for now. I understand I will have to add ice before each plunge but still, how will the tank perform in 80-90F humid summer weather.
I think it does offer some insulated qualities however I think the water would warm too near atmospheric temperature at the end of each day
Where did you buy your filters on Amazon? Also you ever get air flow issues?
Here is a link to the Amazon filters that I ordered. t.ly/lfQsQ Sometimes, I would get flow issues if the hoses would kink, the filters got dirty or if my foot would block the intake when I was plunging. It would seem to work itself out with time.
I have the barrel and I prefer the active position it puts you in. You can move around a bit to break the thermal barrier and keep the feeling of the water colder. I’m sure @mikesquattincassanova4489 will let me know the temperature hasn’t actually changed but I’m feeling risky. Lol
temperature doesn't make it lose air. PV= nRT. Google basic physics and chemistry

I did like the barrel but getting in and out was one of the biggest factors for me. I must say that if I had to choose the upright position of the barrel would be my preference.
Thanks for the tip it does seem that when the ambient temperature changes the volume of air resulting in a change in pressure. I should have been more clear that the “quantity” of air is the same.
So i have a spa already and am very good at chemicals, even with the test strips the chemicals were still too much? Interested in this and the plunge. Trying to decide 3100 vs 6k once you get all the Chems and warranty extensions.
I agree the recommended chemicals were way too much. I only use a splash of food-grade peroxide and 1/8 tsp Sirona Sanitizer. No issues with the water at this point. I did switch to a plunge and have been super happy with it. I would definitely get the warranty extension.
