you’re referring to the f# minor chord played on the guitar and organ. the dissonance created by going from the f# major to minor is what makes it so soulful. the reason he doesn’t play it here on the bass though is because he’s just holding down the root notes and the root note of f# major and minor is the same (f#).

@SUMMONER917 🤯 🤯 oh. That's kind of amazing. It seems like it's the only note really missing from an otherwise perfect tribute. Did he just choose to not use it? Is it difficult to hit that chord? Does he not like that chord therefore excludes it? Doe he just not catch the note?

@@andrewsmith6983 no, the bass just doesn’t play that note. Like the other guy said, the guitar and organ is what makes that moment work, while the bassline continues just playing root notes. I didn’t choose not to play anything, the bass just doesn’t play that part

Don't give me all the credit - most of this bassline is from the original piece, you can just hear it a lot easier here. Some of this is original when I wanted to add something or couldn't hear the exact original notes so wrote my own, but only a little. Thanks anyways though, cheers <3

This just made my entire day, thank you so much lol. I completely understand, very few games have hit me like this one - it’s made me cry more than a few times since playing and I hope that I was able to put at least some of that emotion into this piece. @@zach-esque just pure chance algorithm fuckery I think cause like I was listening to a lot of stuff like Beethoven at the time and ig RUclips was like hey this piano song just came out let’s throw it into his mix And I was just listening to it at work and this came on and I was like eyo wtf is this “signails” cause my dumb ass read it like that for some reason and the rest is history

@@sassychumpkins4639 funny enough, this piece has almost no piano in it. There's a little bit of digital piano I added in the background, but it can barely be heard anywhere. You're probably mistaking the awesome harp playing for piano lol That's cool though, rare W for the youtube algorithm

There's probably some connection to be made with Siganlis there about iterations or cycles of something getting steadily further from the original, but that's all I got
