While I understand the optimism in this, but the ‘choice’ to eat the kinds of food you want should just be that, a choice, not something blocked out because of rising costs. The truth is, I’ve tried meat alternatives before and they don’t work for me. The texture has always been off, and the taste is at best something that can be masked, and I don’t think I’ve been wrong in saying that I’ve given it a fair shot and it isn’t for me. It would be a true shame if this decision ended up being made unwillingly as costs continue to rise, and even worse if then something causes the cheaper food options to rise in price as well, such as a rise in demand that would occur when a whole market of meat eaters starts looking for an alternative. No matter what the rising costs of meat aren’t something to celebrate here, especially when it will affect non meat items down the line, and make it worse for the people who actually enjoy plant based meat alternatives more than others when market constriction affects budgeting.

Y'all need to realize animals aren't humans, if we were as tuff as animals we wouldn't need all the tools we have to survive, if animals were as smart as us they'd have everything we have. It's awful how some humans can take so much advantage over these animals. These people should be put through what they have put animals through.

Rodeos need to be banned! Look at those cows and horses! They don't have a choice and they're being battered around and hurt! How can people be entertained by such cruelty! "Oh let's go have fun watching animals getting beaten up!" It's not right, and it will be stopped.

All you people who protest the rodeo sport these things happenen on farms everyday. I don't se you protesting outside of farms. The anamals are not being hurt. They are let out of the ropes right away and they walk to a corrall where this is food & water for them. They are treated better on the farm than we are, please get your facts strait. Hello ChickenFarmer55, This film is about layer chickens (chickens that lay eggs) and 98% of all eggs in Canada come from chickens in this condition. You are talking about broiler chickens (chickens raised for meat). Why is it that farmers always claim that they know so much yet they always make stupid mistakes like the one you just did. Broilers are for meat and layers are for eggs. Get it? It shouldn't be that difficult!

This is truly WRETCHED. But, it can be eliminated without giving up eggs. Buy only CERTIFIED cage-free eggs. A family in my town dealt with the problem by getting their own laying hens as pets, and collecting their eggs. It's a nice life for the birds and fun for the kids!

This video is really horrible, but there is no visual evidence that it is related to the canadian egg industry. It looks more like a really bad private farm.
