This is so nice to see, annually during our Chinese New Year celebration we would what these videos, this being a more rare one, student of Ed Young who has also studied with Ben Lo. This is typical of our schools push hands practice. I am so grateful to the big name students that I met as well as, the minor ones. I hope somewhere in my body the lessons everyone taught me still remain! :)

Shocking fitness level needed to prepare for ancient combat. Alexander the Great's army saw what India's armies were about & wanted no part of it. Having done heavy lifting & endurance running these exercises are spectacular so exercisers try some out especially squat movements. I've talked to young Hindu's in Canada that seem to know nothing about these exercises preferring to use machines at gym that are far far easier but produce little.

I really like these exercises but this video is frustrating to watch because a lot of this footage is repetitive, shot from the same camera angle, and cuts away too soon for the viewer to see the full range of motion of each exercise. The videographer could have made much better choices.

It usually happens as rope climbing with a lot of variations in the akhada along with drawing a LOT of water from the well! But rope climbing is not functional hence, traditional hindu training stresses on lathi chalan(staff movements) to build a functional upper torso.

I read a lot of criticism below. They were having fun... learning about sensitivity, among other things, and if they have not been trained 'old school' maybe after this experience they will see the need. 5-10 years down the road become absolute tui shou masters. Teaching reaching the students is a true skill. Old school if I were being selfish is all I would do.

It's very much difficult to learn tai chi form sword and it's the student that's having the trouble with it and not the teacher if it's being done wrong probably it's the student just give it lots of time and practice and the student will be so much better at it the teacher knows what he's doing don't criticize the taichi teacher he is a Master have some respect for him you should .he knows what he's doing it's us students whom don't know what they are doing understand? That concept. If you don't want have you been doing all your life at school? Your not smarter than the teacher esp. When it's comes from China. They been practicing taichi form and the sword form and saber form and fan form and the weapons forms since childhood and not us we just getting our toe into the taichi form and the weapons. MZS
