You are such a special human being.
✨👁️✨
One of my all-time favorite Christian songs. It doesn't speak of a mystical transformation but a practical transformation of daily living (which is mystical in its own way.) The lyrics were written by a former slave trader turned Christian, John Newton. There is something to be said for earnest repentance and a religious attitude toward life. Many Christians think that Christianity justifies condemning sinners but if Jesus can forgive the very men who tortured and crucified him, to me it begs the question "What can't I forgive of others?" I think the answer is that it's with the amazing grace of God that I should try my hardest to forgive others just as Jesus forgave the men who betrayed, tortured, and crucified him. I think that if the average Christian was more concerned with loving and forgiving all (especially those that stray), as opposed to hating sinners then the whole world would be better off for it.
Amazing 👏 i LOVE this
To pull this off on the side of a county road with cars and joggers passing by is beyond me. She has "it". This is reminiscent of Billy Strings "Dust In A Baggy" with Mr Green Shirt.... if you haven't seen her do "Come All Ye Fair And Tender Ladies" you need to.
Katie, you're giving me goosebumps. This is the way I always wanted to hear this song.❤
Same goes for me. I've always loved this song and I've heard it sung by lots of people. Coming from Nova Scotia the Rankins version has always been a favourite, but I really like your voice. Great job!
Touched my heart...
iñ looking at this katie long time ago..you sure get down low nice one...any new songs...
Wooooow :)) So beautiful!!!!
If an old picker who's lost his abilities can comment, this is lovely
Yes! Like that precisely! Give it to me like that & never stop.

I have to say finding this cover got me into Katie Dill but still this song hits different, like play on repeat type of different
Excellent cover! So emotive. Thanks for posting.
Everyone watching this should listen to Katie’s work as/with Mean Lady, really beautiful stuff
WoW this is amazing this song just popped up without a search. I remember this in the winters bone film 2010 it always stuck in my head
The Rankin Family version is one of my favourite from the Canadian group.
You have such a beautiful voice. I’d never heard this song before, I love it! Is there a way I can buy your version of the song?
Hi! If you’re interested in buying a copy of this song performed by the artist, I’d suggest contacting Katie Dill. She would be better able to help you with that. If you were referring to this version of the song, there’s no reason to buy it since it’s up for everyone’s enjoyment. Cheers!
That was exquisite
Sang this song in high school (I sang bass, Diane, Marilyn and Gary sang soprano, Alto and tenor) Will never forget the beauty of that song. This version takes me back 50 years to a time I'll never forget and beauty that is timeless.
Love this
Best version of this song. Yes, I know there are many
I do think the same
Omg how beautiful! Is this version on Spotify or a platform like that ? Amazing 💚
Huh. Strikingly similar to Barbara Dane's "Don't Sing Love Songs," which is also known as "Silver Dagger." A lot of those traditional song are intermingled, it seems. Anyways, amazing job.
Herb Pederson best version
You and Meredith Sisco have the nicest versions of this song, I love the way you sing this and your beautiful smile ,you make me happy,Thanks
I always loved this song and your version is wonderful! I love your voice and acoustic guitar playing. Great job!!

I am just discovering Katie Dill. Love your voice and style. Beautiful.
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Katie, I have listened to many renditions of this song since 1968. As a college freshman my girlfriends suite mate played and sang this song very similar to your version. Great song, great performance, thanks!

Amazing! I don't know how many times I've listened to this but it's basically my lullaby now

This is the best cover of this song I've ever heard! Would you mind sharing the chords you used? I've been trying to figure it out!
Looks like I used c, g, d, em and am but I have a capo up on a higher fret
@@katiedill3768 thanks!!
Nice guitar work, and that voice which can go so low! Very nice.
best version ive heard of this beautiful song
This is what RUclips is about,
Lovely, Katie. Keep singing beautiful soul, keep singing unashamed and unafraid. Thanks for introducing this old guy to an old song.
Enjoyed your cover. Such a lovely tone to your voice. I am glad you posted your video in black & white. It adds to the haunting mood of the beautiful ballad that color does not always convey with this traditional song.
i'm in love with this
i am back many years later to say that this song confounds me but i am certain of one thing: i am still in love with it. being drunk on pismo beach listening to it over and over and over
Sorry, this version is quite nice and intimate, but the Rankin Family version transcends time & space
Truly lovely. I have watched this about 20 times in the last three days.
YEEEESSSSS
As much as I have always loved Joan Baez's version of this song, this is my new fav! Katie Dill, you totally encapsulated the essence of the emotion of this song! First Rate job!
Thank you!
Love this song. what picking pattern are you using? looks simple but i can't figure it out...
Hitting the base string and then strumming up the high strings with my nail and coming back down and hitting them with the pad of my fingers. Haha I dunno how to draw ya a diagram
