For me it worked better to do the stagger with a Nagakiba than uchigatana. Stagger in this game is weird but i did the exact same attacks and the nagakiba staggered it and when i used uchi i died. And also: you have to throw the last knife at the cliff and instantly run like shown in the video. Otherwise the sentinel will just turn and kill you
