Fox/Coyote Trapping 2020: Pre-bait check
You did a great step by step build for anyone who has never built anything. Some don't show the details, but you did. Anyone should be able to build this waterer. Thank you for helping beginners.
Great video.. Thanks
Thank you for this awesome video!! I’m a new chicken momma and I needed a detailed demo like your video!!
Thank you! Let us know if need anything!
How do you handle the slime/algae growth in the system? Is there anything that can be added? What is your cleaning regimen?
We've never had growth, likely due to the water being used so quickly.
Then your doing it improperly, scrapies always goes on the right ear when the butt is to you
Do you have any problem with freezing
We only use it spring through summer, typically. We have had one nipple pop out due to an early spring freeze. I'm sure it would freeze in the heart of winter.
Thanks for Keeping it real not editing out the camera girl showing us all her beautiful face and tongue 👅 😂. Nice project!
Love this! Can we get a material list please?
I'll try to get a materials list around and get back to you! Thank you for watching!
I’m following your system exactly but ran into a problem. I drilled a hole 3/8 but it was too big. I can put the nipple in and pluck it out with no effort. So I went down to 5/16 but the nipples broke with no effort. I think I ordered cheap Chinese crap. Is there any way you can share your nipple order?

Rent-a-coop brand!
Have you ever had any chicken peck them loose?
We have not had that issue as of yet
excellent
1:15 Is Lamb, a boy or girl⁉️
guys, put on a cheap plastic ball valve on the end of the pipe so you can just open and wash out the line with not need to remove it, etc.
Great idea!
It should be noted that the 1" slip to 3/4" thread will not adapt to the garden hose. PVC is NPT. Garden hose, I think, is NIFT. They are different thread sizes and you may need a special adapter.
For the connection to the pvc, I think you are saying we need a 3/4” female NPT thread with 3/4” barb (for hose and clamp), right? Then the other connection is a 3/4” female GHT thread with 3/4” barb (for hose and clamp). I think the video did not clarify that but that is what I am seeing is needed since the garden hose and pvc threads are GHT and NPT respectively. Thanks!
Great system, just one note about gluing, always use primer as that creates a chemical reaction that melts the two pieces together and put glue on both ends. Give it a twist to get contact and wipe the excess off on the outside as it will form a crust leaving the inside to keep melting the fitting making it brittle. Enjoyed your video
Thank you!
How did your DIY sheep chute work? I was looking through your other videos and see that you have a commercial chute in the background of this video - so I'm guessing maybe the DIY chute was no bueno?
Sorry I missed your comment! The DIY one works rather well, though we don't need to use it too often. We got the commercial set in a trade for some lambs. It works well, too, but is now taken down in storage. If you know someone that wants it, let us know!
Thank you! My first time with hatching eggs, we are in lockdown today. So checking videos as to which eggs to discard before we lock it down. My eggs are very small, blue Orpingtons. I only have 5 that made it so far. One I have to take out, another is questionable so I may leave it. The other three are completely dark! Lol. I can’t see a thing! Your video helped a lot!
Thanks for the comment. Glad you found it helpful!
@@oldsoulfarmlife2105 omg yes! I did remove two of the eggs. I can just hear your husband “they will explode!” 🤣 I did put a few under my broody girl, I thought they were all bad, but I just checked and one is viable!! I cried. 🤣 anyway, thanks for the video. It was a huge help!
If anyone is looking for dimensions, the plan for this ewe stanchion was published in the book Raising Sheep the Modern Way by Paula Simmons (1976). This book provides a measured isometric diagram and list of materials! If I’m mistaken about the source of the plan, please let me know.
Any issues with predators?
We have never had predator issues with this tractor!
What was the whoa?
What brand of red nipple did you use, mine all leaked( probably bought the chepest ones)

We use these on our DIY waterer and the heated waterer during winter.
I would suggest y0u don't delay on dispating your garments. I've had a nice fox pull out of a trap just as I was getting to the trap.
Thank you for the insight!
How much chicken inside that cage??
50 broilers if moved daily
Thx for the information 👍👍👍
Hello! Quite late to finding this but we're hoping to bring a couple ewes for milking onto our farmstead in the next season or two, and you're pretty much the only one I could find who built a stanchion specifically with a sheep in mind. Any chance you could share a cut sheet or dimension drawing for my husband and I to follow your lead? Thanks for the video. Cheers! Heather
Thanks for watching! I'm going to try to get a cut list video out shortly!
@@oldsoulfarmlife2105 That's marvellous, thank you so much!
Pests have to be managed. Hopefully you gave it A fast death.
You guys are awesome. Thank you for doing this. Jesus loves you so much!!!
Thank you, God bless!
This is the best life for kids, I grew up like this and showed my kids this life style and I'm 50 now and showing my grands kids this. God bless!! If more parents raised their children like this, we wouldn't be where we are now.
Thank you, keep sharing your passion with the younger generations, and God bless!
I like it!
That's really nice.
Thank you
Nice Yote, big ol boy. Great job on the video, a man and his boys. Fantastic, love to see that. From an old hunter/trapper.
Thank you!
Onun günahı nədi mərhəmətsiz! Lazımındı silahla ovla elə əzab vermə sora əzab görərsən!
Great channel name by the way. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us
Thank you for the kind words!
I really like your videography style. Any chance you can share with me what type of insulation that is on the walls?
It's a thin reflective roll insulation. It does a good job for 3 season use, but not in sub-freezing temperatures.
Pretty cruel…. What if you were that cuyote
We trap to protect our livestock (lambs,chicks,etc.). In certain ways of life, it is an unfortunate necessity. We try our best to manage wildlife and livestock in a happy coexistence. I can assure you everything is done with full respect to all animals. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Great job boys awesome great job dad getting the young ones outside 👏
Thank you
These videos are a gift to the viewer. With that in mind, thank you and anyone who helped film it. What I especially enjoyed about your video, over many many others is as follows:. It resulted in something useful, the economic value of the end result is manifest, since this is unit one your candor on production issues was helpful, your narration of the process was particularly refreshing as opposed to many many other videos involving wood or metal that hold the viewer in suspense and look like a Charlie Chaplin film in color until the very end, only to realize it's yet another exotic $1,000 hat rack. I don't see a need for a cut list. Unless I missed the point and you have your own sawmill and kiln producing non std dimensional lumber to be revealed in future surprise follow-on videos. Mileage may vary within and between phenotype, as well as animal type. So in summary, the video is a winner, because it takes an idea to completion that can, if successful, do what I like best..sign the back of more checks than the front.
That is a nice looking coyote
Thank you
Looks like an awesome morning
Thanks for watching!
Looks like these two are using illegal traps.
All laws and regulations were followed appropriately. If you have questions about the sets, please feel free to ask.
Those traps are perfectly legal unless you're living in a state like N.J.
Thank you and no, we are not in NJ.
I like your plan and demonstration. Could you provide some dimensions of the build. Thanks
Gary, I'm sorry for just now getting back to you! Yes I can do that, give me a little time to get it out. Thanks for watching!
Just subscribed...like seeing you sharing trapping with your son!!!
Thank you!
Where do you bring caught animals ? And what happens to them ?
Some animals are released (on site and off site). Some are harvested for fur. Most of the trapping we do is to protect livestock/livelihoods (chickens, sheep, grains, etc.) Thank you for the question!
Get some brass to their head
Nice work 👍 have you started trapping this year yet?
Thank you! Not yet but will be out soon enough!
Cool 👍
I must say. Nice catch and that moustache is epic
Thank you...on both compliments!
I agree.... the stash is boss.
Thank you!
Use a longer chain on your trap and you shouldn’t have any problem of them pulling your stake up.
Thank you!
Good job guys! Congrats👍
Thank you!
