Some of my take aways: - Going after “low hanging food” is the easies way to incorporate XR in learning. - Powers of 10 viewing (zooming in) and visualizing the details - Creating metaphors of something concrete to help visualize patterns in order to visualize the learning. Biggest problem is visualizing. - Get hands on on expensive equipment - Walk in someone else’s shoes by role playing. - Making learning more accessible to more people. Like the kids today know about various subjects more than a knowledgeable adult living in the 17th century - Opportunities for creating learning experiences that is accessible to all kind of learners especially with learning disabilities. - Accessibility, inclusion, diversity, equity promoted with VR Great episode!

Why can't we try making some impressive shorts to make it more rechable. I would love to see and work together on making this silver lining for learning more visible.

This is a conversation that is still relevant today. Even though we have gone back to some normalcy, we are on a different spectrum of 'normal' and still need to think wider. The students today are not the students of two years ago. Even before the pandemic we needed to rethink what education is, who we are engaging and how we engage them. Thank you. This gives us a lot to think about as educators, advocates and policy makers.

I am retired. All along my life in USA I never waited for school districts to accept. I always found a small group of pioneers and started my models. Then in some cases school districts adopted it. Example Lego logo in science in chesterfield schools in 1990s. Global communication projects. Interdisciplinary learning. My CCC for teachers collaborate communicate create for teachers in 1997 has taken different forms lately in Virginia with 5cs. We just should not give up when funding stops.

Chris. I thought about an old project I did in Richmond city schools in 2002 and 2003. SIMBA. Security identity motivation balance. attitudes when we work with young people it’s important that the programs focus on these components to get the kids to achieve success and feel proud of themselves.

Do teachers and teacher-trainers know about systems and systems thinking? There is some very interesting reading now. I can suggest Nora Bateson as someone who speaks in conversations often about systems. She has written, too, about education. Has everyone one the panel read "Learners Without Borders" ? Lots of inspiration there! Smile. And James Moffett's "The Universal Schoolhouse; Spiritual Awakening Through Education." !! Feeling expanded. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing, Jean. I loved hearing how you are connecting people to nature and science both. I originally started out as a double major in biology and journalism because I wanted to translate scientific findings, particularly around genetics, to be accessible to the average person. Life took me in other directions, yet it's still something I highly value.

Great conversation guys thank you. We have been collaborating with Sugata Mitra on Self Organised Learning Environments (S.O.L.E.) for the past ten years (We are based in Melbourne Australia) The work we have been doing is closely aligned to much of what you spoke about. Helping students to learn how to learn and as much as possible become their own teachers - (the gradual release model) It’s based on connecting emotions to learning. Student choice, voice, autonomy 👍
