Can you use Game Ready drivers with this?
Absolutely, and I can't find any difference between Game or Studio as they both seem to work fine.
My 4060 8GB gets more job than my 4070 Ti 12GB card. :( Bummer. Before they change the pay rate....my 4070 Ti gets the most jobs.
The hardware demand seems quite random and unpredictable, hopefully all our equipment will be put to work again soon. Thanks for watching!

Maybe an update?
@@zhangyi674 happy to update whatever needs updating if it gives me an excuse to reset my system and try again.
Hey try to restart the salad app. It would be nice to create a script when theres no jobs restart the app and wait for 20 minutes, no jobs restart again
@@zhangyi674 hopefully it doesn’t have to come down to that, as I don’t like restarting a bunch just to snag a job. I just want that WSL to light up as soon as the app starts and usually it’s fine from there.
I’ve never had that happen before.🤔 I check all my rigs via chrome Remote Desktop. Usually with the phone most of the time. Usually check my earnings history via the phone as well. I have 5 rigs in a grow tent and getting to them physically isn’t worth the trouble.
I use those open air cases as they just fit inside a network rack shelf. They are in an enclosure in the tent, but I’m about cut down a 2 post rack to fit inside there instead. I want to open up more room for more rigs.
Is "Chop Indefinitely" even an option?
@@fooferbob9230 When you “ pause till idle “ then it salad starts chopping after being idle, it will show “ chop indefinitely “ you set the time in your settings. Default is 10min. I personally use 1min because salad is in my startup folder, I want it chopping immediately after reboot.
Can you make a tut for the vEthernet(WSL)
funny thing is I did shoot a video covering that, was supposed to be a short and then went way over so I turned it into a Video, except I kept it in vertical mode instead of switching so I need to reshoot it :D
W profit

How much is the electricity cost for your SALAD operation?
I think electricity cost is around $100 per month while I’m making about 4x that give or take
@@buxtech So what I gather it must take you into the two year mark before you see any profit? Does running the machines 24/7 leave them prone to living a long enough life to make it profitable past your opportunity cost?
😂 that's the max possible amount you can earn but if it crashes you get 0
Well, you get what you earned before the “crash”. Don’t really have very many instances of crashing with Salad between my 9 rigs. I was peaking over $5 (max 24 hours) on some 4060ti rigs before the rate decrease. Now it seems anything showing around this range is about as good as it gets, at least as far as I’ve seen.
@@buxtech you are lucky with the containers then
I got 4080 and a 4070 ti super and no more 4dollars jobs only 3.13 and that is rare
@@arditt17 one of my 4060ti 16gb has a $3.83 right now but yeah anything over $4 is rare anymore. Sadge.
Maybe activate your Windows lol :p
One of these days, I'm sure ;)
Great success

Hello, how did you combine 2 rtx on the same rig for salad? Can you describe your set up? Have a good day!
Hey i have 3060 12gb vram an 32 gb ram on system tell me how much max job it will able to pull
@@shreyashbhakare1648 you may need more system ram to pull more consistent jobs, but my son’s 3060 usually gets <$2 jobs but right now he has a ~$3.50 job with 64gb ram.

If you have a computer with 8 to 32 g ram then download salad to get free money?
Good rigs. Few things to note. Ram speed doesnt matter a jot, container owners cant view or select RAM speed, just quantity. CPU speed doesnt matter a jot, container owners can only select number of threads up to 16. Putting 2 GPU in one rig just messes up earnings for both GPUs so you'd be better off building a separate rig for that 3070 if you have spare parts, 32GB ram would be fine. Last thing - as someone who's been a network manager for 20+ years, Cat 8 won't do anything at all for salad, or mining, other than relive your wallet of extra money. Keep up the good chopping chef.
Thanks! Cat8 was about as cheap as any of them so it's what I went with (My OCD wanted them all uniform). Also, I know it doesn't matter with 2 GPUS on a rig *for now* but that rig happens to be my longest container so far so I'll just leave it be for now (also I don't have another rig to put the 3070 on at the moment). Noted on the speeds, I've come to the same conclusion it's all about total combined ram capacity between system/gpu and uptime. The cores/threads don't really do anything from my testing on a range of i7 6700 to a 5950x, they all get jobs pretty equally. Thanks for watching!
Not really sure but if u have 2 gpu in one pc..salad will get the one nearest to the cpu.
my 3090Ti rig and 3090 rig bounce back and forth from $1.80 jobs to $6.00 jobs. The $1.80 jobs typically run longer, 18 to 20 hrs.
yoooo same thing happens to this rig! I'm beginning to think the 3070 does nothing at all but it constantly has a job for days on end so I'm not going to touch it :)
@@buxtech i upgraded to the newest driver for my 3090ti and it seems to be doing better, i still have my evga3090 on driver 552.44 because it hasnt stopped long enough!
Incredible content!!! ❤❤
Im finding salad to be terrible.. I run a i7 13700k, 64gb DDR5 and a RTX 4080 on salad 24/7.... Been running it non-stop for 91 days now, and not once had a "high value job".... Every single job ive had, is a $0.001 - $0.003 payout job.... Not even worth the electricity costs at this point.... 3 months flat out, and ive barely made $20... Even with the "star chef" power unlocked..... Dreadful...
Wow, I haven't heard of results that low, definitely not running right. Perhaps make sure nvidia, intel drivers are updated as well as windows to the maximum. Make sure in settings you have elevated permissions on as well as everything except mining and restart. Also make sure Salad boots with Windows.
@@buxtech yep, all drivers are updated... i have all permissions set and enabled, Just mining disabled....
I feel liked I’d have uninstalled and reinstalled by now until it gets right. Perhaps shoot the devs an email or discord message.
I'm sure you're aware but Salad only utilizes one GPU. Might as well remove that 3070. 👍
Totally, but they are working on some multi GPU stuff on the low so I’ll be ready for it plus I can use the 3070 for video while the 3090 does its thing. I think there’s a way to run VMs to utilize like 2 pc’s in one but I haven’t played with that yet.
@@buxtech proxmox perhaps
I bet your front right tire pressure is low

No sell 3070, give to meeeeeeee!
That's a snazzy bench you got there...
Ive been testing different setups wirh 4070s. 64gb, Ryzen 5600, 1TB ssd seems to be very consistent finding work. I'll test 4070ti and 4090s next
Love it! I’m running 64gb on most every rig now and an array of 3x 4060ti 16gb, a 4070ti 16gb super, a couple 4080 regs, and a 3090. Hoping to add some new videos soon with the progress!
4 core 8 thread
What’s your setup and how much are you averaging per day?
$1.75 a day x 30 = about 20 double cheeseburgers from Mcdonalds
Interesting. I almost gave up on that board. I have a 2 core celeron and couldn’t get it to boot into salad. Might have to look into a processor swap. How did you get the board to accept 32gb of ram? I thought it maxed out at 16gb.
The Ram depends on the gen CPU, and the i7 6700 can take up to 2166mhz non-ecc UNbuffered DDR4 while the 7th gen can go a little faster. I just kind of took a chance with the 32gb (knowing AtoZ has a return policy as a safety) bc that was the only component I didn't have on hand so for about $60 I had a potential entire solid setup! In your case I may source the cheapest 6/7 gen i7 you can find with the ram, if it's within your budget limitations, and let it rip!
So.. it costs me about 30 bucks a month in energy.. you’re going to to look me dead in the eye and say this is cost effective.. 😭😭😭
@@andrewwright5629 your results may vary, I’m just saying it works!
projected to make 1.75 a day, times 30 is 52.5, -30 for energy and you still profit 22$ (if its running constantly)
what would a threadripper achieve on there?
let me know what you find out!
I doubt that will make that much, i havent used salad in a long time, but its more like making pennies per day, if not less. I had a 10600k and the same gpu.
Only time will tell, but it's equipment I had sitting here and can't seem to sell, so might as well put it to work. It has made about $0.40 over the almost 8 hours it has had a container.
Super awesome, I'm really into Algorand but never mined it like that!

A4500 vs rtx 3080 in terms of gaming?
The core of this card is closer to a 3070 just with a lot more vram. So you won't get 3080 or 3090 level proformance in games. I would say if you can find a rtx 3080 for the same price or even a bit more than a rtx 4500 just get the 3080 if your main use case is gaming.
@@helloward9759 Is A4500 better for Blender 3D rendering than 3080?
The 3080 will be faster since it has more cuda cores and runs at a higher clock speed. It also has slightly faster vram. The a4500 is basically the same specs as the a4000 just with more vram. If all you care about is speed and you know the 3080 has enough vram for your use case then it would be better. The nice thing about the a series cards is that they consume less power, have more vram, and are made for use in servers and workstations so they tend to last longer. The down side is the a4000 and a4500 are closer to a 3070 in terms of performance.
