I also write music, I already have 4 albums and 4 singles. I have always wondered why kick and other percussion are placed as just files on the player? Why not create a pattern with them? It's more convenient...
Because I cut or stretch samples (not always, but often) and for me editing and placing drums in a playlist is much easier than using channel rack.
