I read the Kiss of Deception purely to experience that second-guessing the characters. But not for a single moment was I confused about which guy was the prince and which was the assassin. The moment the two guys encounter the princess it is abundantly clear who is who. The author of this trilogy actually writes an believeable assassin - not like SJM who does not understand the first thing about assassins. Still, I didn't continue with the trilogy as the only reason for me to pick up the book fell flat.

OMG THE HAZLEWOOD SERIES!!! OH MY GOD!!! Read those in the 6th grade 😭😭 those books are HEAVY!!!!!

I completely understand about Addie LaRue haha. I've been looking forward to reading that for months and months, but in the past I have absolutely passed on books because the hype was just SO MUCH. I think I escaped a lot of it in 2020 because I just wasn't paying as much attention, otherwise I could be in the same boat lmao.

Totally agree about horror! Being scared is not fun for me, plus I find that a lot of stuff that happens in horror books/movies is just thrown in there so randomly. Instead of having a story that goes linearly or makes some kind of sense, it's like the writer is just like "what crazy, ridiculous, completely nonsensical thing can I throw in here next??" Also totally agree on The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (and everything V.E. Schwab writes). People will NOT STOP telling me to read V.E. Schwab/Victoria Schwab. I tried A Darker Shade of Magic and was so not interested in it. I have so many other things I'd rather read.

I love this tag so much! I totally agree with you about Renee Ahdieh. I read The Wrath and The Dawn years ago and enjoyed it. But it didn’t blow my mind or anything. And the sequel was soooo borrrring. Lol.
