There is in no way anyone should be paying THAT much for such an affordable whiskey, ango and simple syrup and a twist. A bottle of knob creek is less than $40 dollars retail most places. As an industry worker, there’s no reason to charge for half a bottle for a tiny fraction of that bottle ESPECIALLY at the prices restaurants and bars get. Even with labor and overhead included that’s INSANE

Tipping in the US is the server's wage. IT IS THE WAGE. If you don't like it don't participate. As in don't dine out at restaurants because it's part of the deal. If you can't afford to tip then you can't afford to dine out.

Lease, lights, water, labor, liquor license, city taxes, business license, state SUT filings, federal & state withholding, accountant, food, liquor, furniture. Perhaps a salary for the proprietor and liability insurance, etc ... etc ... these two individuals might be nice people but I certainly don't want them running a business I'm investing in.

You obviously never had or ran a bar before to know the expenses and taxes you have to support in order to even be in a position to serve alcohol

This was about 30 years ago. Dave was in his raging alcoholic phase. I worked with the guy, and it was tough to watch him show up at the very popular bar and make an absolute ass of his self. One night he was in rare form. Dave put his car keys down on the bar and the bartender grabbed them up and wouldn't give them back. Dave went ballistic and said he was going to call the cops. Go ahead Dave. Call 'em. You're not getting your keys back. Called him a cab, and the cab driver showed up and said he was to pick up a Dave. We looked around, Dave not found. Turns out Dave spied his keys, snuck around the bar, and slipped out the back door with them. Cab driver is pissed with no fare present, goes outside, and immediately comes back in super pissed. Someone had just hit his cab parked outside and basically totaled it. Yup, it was Dave. Dave then apparently hit like five parked cars, ran from the cops, and then hit a cop car. Amazingly, he didn't end up in jail for several years. He sure didn't have a driver's license after that.

This video was very offensive as Carl and Riley failed to recognize everything that went into getting that bottle of knob creek…. The bartender and his entire family started their life together by jim beam… they got together 5 oxes and a wagon, starting their trip getting their thumbprint waxed onto the knob creek cap… they set out on a journey west, before the bartender’s mother died of dysentery… this was tough on this man, but they still traveled slowly due to the 5 ox, until they got to the mighty Mississippi, where they decided to ford the river… it didn’t work, all five of drowned, and so did the rest of the bartender’s family… grabbing whatever he could find, he saved only the bottle of bourbon, and gave up every trying to reach Oregon… he set up shop in eastern, Iowa and decided to charge what the bottle really costs… everything he has ever known… adding eight bitters to every cocktail, because all he feels is bitter… to me, you got those cocktails at bargain price…

Servers dont need training shit is fucking easy. I am a cook and had to help plenty of times in service since we are understaffed and jesus being a server is a fucking cake walk, cooks deserve the tips not the servers yall got the easiest life of them all. Before you act all high and mighty i work in a michelin star restaurant and a hotel kitchen at the same time called Tredecim and krone respectively.
