'52 Frigidaire WO-65-2 shutting off from the wash spin, this time showing the spin trip shaft solenoid disengage, releasing the torque spring and activating the brake.

This happened on July 24th during our summer rainy season, it was a bad time to head to the store! There was no damage to my truck from the hail but it sure got pelted. Pretty typical of summer weather up here, and 30 minutes later everything stopped.

The grand finale of the July wash party, the American Kitchens! Mike, Darren, Todd, and myself stayed to watch this magnificent machine do its job on the evening of July 9th, and what a machine it is too. The Roto-Rack must be seen to be believed, the force from the impeller alone turns it although I was told by several folks that when these machines were new, it spun at warp speed.

The activity was not limited to the basement. We also invaded Mike's driveway and ran the numerous machines he had out there for us, including the late-50's (1959 I think Gary said) Dexter double-tub wringer washer. Notice how one tub agitates slightly faster than the other. Gary said this was most likely due to the proximity of the transmission from the left-hand tub and that there is a sort o...
