Hi! I've been working in finance and banking for the last 23 years, now I'm 45y old and intend to switch to data science by doing a MS, it seems that I possess some key skills that are transferable for data science. What would you recommend to me considering my age and past experience?

Any advice on how to market yourself given the academia background? Most recruiters want either experience or a CS degree and get either confused or skeptical when they read non-CS topics on my CV. Hey, I am undergraduate student in Artificial Intelligence and Data science, I have a question, is it necessary to learn about data structures and algorithms in python to make career in data science? Or just by knowing the basic syntax and jumping into the libraries will it okay? Cause little bit confused whether to continue to learn data structure and algo or skip it.. Seems so many of us have the same arcs haha, I also did physics and a physics masters, been working as a DS with ML for 11 years now!

My son is graduating from UIUC as a physics major. He is going to get his PhD in Astronomy or Physics ( depending on which program he gets into). He is doing observational physics because he said theoretical is not for him. He did a research internship at MIT this past summer and realized what he wanted to do after having such an amazing time there. He is hoping to get into CalTech or MIT PhD programs-wish him luck! I am very proud of him.❤

This video answered my comment on your last video! My school offers a couple data science classes with a focus on fintech which should be fun. I definitely want to work in either tech or finance. Time series analysis/Forecasting and recommendation systems and MLE sounds the most interesting to me at the moment. I’m not sure if these’s a lot of overlap in these but maybe I can figure something out. Next semester I’ll be in an advanced Python for data analytics course where one of the final course project options is algorithmic trading in the stock market

Should I choose msc in Applied statistics to break into Data science field in 2025? I'm from Third-world economy and graduated with a bachelor in Business so pursuing a master degree is the only option to break into this field in the US.

Hello Egor, Thank you for sharing with this video for us. I am quite comfortable now, using chatgpt in workplace is normal for any developers. I am fully agree with your opinion. But when I am using chatgpt in workplace I am quite bit worried that my manager do not see it. Their mindset are very different. What will you say for this case?
