Banner Towing at Tarn Farm. Cockerham.
The blue DH 60 Moth shown being flown, was originally purchased by Richard Shuttleworth himself, in the 1930's. It is the only airworthy aircraft in the World to remain based at, and still operating from the same airfield for almost 90 years.
Splendide ! Magnifique ! Merci👏👏👏
seeing those two old style planes fly through the air next to each other is truely awesome. cant imagine what it would have been like seeing that back in the day.
Braver men than me.
08:46-08:47 (1910 depazition)? WTF is a depasition monoplane? Why can't the Brit'ish speak E N G L I S H . Oh, Thankyou to all responsible for this rare and beautiful offering!
1936 Richard Shuttleworth took ownership & restoration of the Armand (Deperdussin). Oh, ok thanks me!
Old birds never die, thanks lord!!!
Hahahahahahaha.................I thought those were RC planes at first!
Modern life is rubbish.
Como se llama el modelo de la primera y última imagen?
hola hermoso video, todos los modelos espectaculares
Was that a MiG 2?
Beautiful, many thanks. Congratulations
Must get to old warden show some time
It's well worth it for the museum alone, never mind the flying displays.....
Beautiful, many thanks. Is the first "Edwardian" a Farman Longhorn? The second is an Avro Triplane (it says Avro on the side). The third is a Deperdussin according to the announcement. Is the first plane in the film a Comper Swift (w/Pobjoy engine)???
MrPwmiles - No the side view does look similar to the Swift doesn’t it, but the big wing (Swift was only 24ft) and fin give it away. It’s an ANEC II With an ABC Scorpion flat twin. The collection do have an airworthy Swift I believe. I learned to fly with John and Jenny Pothecary who owned Pobjoy engined G-ABUU.
Thank you! I'm not a pilot unfortunately, but I do love Shuttleworth. Patrick, Herts
The first one is a Bristol Boxkite. :)
OUTSTANDING collection and show!
Love those old planes!
Fantastic, so happy to have stumbled upon this video. Thank you.
UNREAL ! To think those seemingly rickety craft could achieve such heights
Terrific visuals and lovely sound. Wonderful to hear all those old engines on song. Thank you!
Took my little boy there today to watch the gliders take off do a few curcuits and then land. Was surprised at how quick and steep the winch launch is! Must be awesome to fly it.
Great windsock at 2:03 N Whittingham lane. Keep up the good work
No I didn't like that last comment much either. [deleted] Think my cat did it. Any chance of a winter flyover or is your aircraft hibernating?
pete wright I am on Holiday for a while but I am planning another sortie on my return. It will look nearly finished by then.
Some holiday,send me a postcard!
Hochtief are certainly getting their act together now. {and that's hard to spell on a Saturday when its supposed to be Sunday} I think you must have 'buzzed' them or summat. Nice fly over
Nice one Micky. Looking forward to flying from Tarn next summer again.
Well, I think it's a decent solution to a congetion problem that would never go away, otherwise. As for being a waste of Tax payers money, we have been witing for decades for a sensible access route, the cost per year's wait is actually quite small. The eisting bridges across the Lune are pathetic when handleing container traffic from Heysham port. What other solution could there be.
What other suggestion would Priscilla have ? I was born in Lancaster in 1943 and with the population growing so much since the University arrived the city is too established to accept wider roads etc and the rail service I remember from Castle Station through Green Ayre to Morecambe has long gone. Excellent work Micky. I must post some of my clips from when I was a DJ at the Floral Hall and Central Pier in the '60s.. Are you planning to make a dvd of the series..I would buy one.................Mike now retired in the Vale of Glamorgan.
Hi Mike, Thanks for the positive comments, I know you reminisce about Lancaster and Morecambe, I can drop all the vids on a memory stick and post it out to you if you fancy?
I agree it's absurd... but...I will use it, as it's there...
What a waste of tax payers money, sad to think this is the solution to our congestion issues in the Lancaster / Morecambe area :(
this will cure nothing,we will still be sat on skerton bridge stuck in traffic
Great footage Mickey. Was that music Bullet train or slow boat to China?
New aircraft?
Is there an opening date yet; or have I missed it.......................Mike former Lancastrian from 1943 !
Hi Mike, No you havn't missed it, it will happen sometime later this year. I am looking forward to a drive down the new road but will probably wish I was flying!!!!
Excellent clip, but why was it built ? I was born in Vicarage Lane in Lancaster in 1943 and moved away for a better job in 1968. I still return but other than the City centre I don't find the roads to Morecambe and Heysham busy. Is the port at Heysham so busy in 2016 ?........................Shots of the railways in the area would be interesting. I remember Green Ayre Sheds and the line past Nelsons Silks on Caton Road; wher I had my 1st job......................Mike now in Llanblethian, S/Wales
Thanks for sharing this. I can almost see my house on this one! Morecambe looks a lot better from up there!
Such a pity both Piers have gone and the Floral Hall and Winter Gardens. One day I'll put my film of my time as a DJ in 1963 on YT.............with the Rolling Stones, Knks etc
All those memories. I was a DJ on the Pier and at the Floral Hall in the 1960s. I booked the Rolling Stones at the Floral in Sept 1963 for £95,00..................................Mike retired in S/Wales
Hi Mike, Thanks for the comments, it will help but I suspect the traffic will still be frustrating at the rush hours. I will take another video of the Link Road soon, our airfield is closed for a while due to the wet weather.
Do you think this will ease all the congestion in Lancaster. For such a small city. it's very slow at all times I moved away from my home town in 1969.....excellent clips.
haha madness. i was walking by the clock tower when you went past.
Darren Bray Hi, I hoped you waved, lol.
Great video ! Thanks for sharing :)
Great little video. Thanks for posting.
