For example: Say you're willing to tolerate up to $10 of risk. At game start, the Falcons are a substantial underdog (+200) and the Eagles are the favorite (-240). Say you put $10 on the Falcons, then you would stand to gain $20 if the Falcons win, with a risk of $10 If they lose. Possible outcomes are: Eagles win: -$10 Falcons win: +$20 At halftime, the Falcons are up 14-3 and are now the favorite (-180) with the Eagles as underdog (+140). You can now place a $20 bet on the Eagles completely risk-free (since we stand to gain $20 in the event the Eagles lose from our earlier bet). $20 at +140 would pay out $28. Now the possible outcomes are: Eagles win: +$28 Falcons win: $0 Or if you put $15 on the Eagles, $15 at +140 pays out $21 and the possible outcomes are: Eagles win: +$11 Falcons win: +$5 & we could have a guaranteed win. You can see that if this continues, we can keep leveraging up bigger and bigger bets without taking on any additional risk. Of course, the game needs to be volatile for this strategy to work. Implementing this strategy runs the risk of eating a loss on the initial bet, so we need to mitigate that. Does that make sense?

Still working on it. It was unsuccessful today (week 1), but it tends to perform well week 4 and onward since there's more certainty about the teams. It performs well on backtested data (2007 - 2021), but I'll have to wait until week 4 to see if this performance carries through.

Hadn't heard of that. I just installed it and tried it on the site, it grabs some data but not perfect. I'm sure if I tweaked it a bit it would work. It's absolutely bonkers to detect the data automatically. Very cool tool. Things like this are pretty easy to automate away. All the real thinking will be in the analysis part but who knows when that will be automated away too. Anyhow, I still like python for now because it's more flexible. I'll play around with it and see if I can get it to do what I want. It might do away with python webscraping for me if I can get it to work, thanks for sharing.

@@logancurtis5134 i haven’t been able to test it, I need to get data from 2022 and 2023. I should test how a model trained 2007-2021 performs so far this season, that would be a good video to post before the games start tomorrow
