I find the drift car scene is pretty welcoming. A much more chill vibe than the race scene.

Be sure to check out my vid on the gearing issues. You will definitely want to see what spur the 2.0 comes with, and dive down that rabbit hole. I had to mod my 1.0 to get proper gearing.

I still have one of the later versions with the blue flat chassis. May have to pick up one of these to add to the collection. Would love to race these again. I miss nitro racing.

@@TheSleevelessReefer Thats cool you have the blue chassis version. I was thinking of getting a Traxxas Jato due to available parts and racing it. Mark Santamaria just did a series on a racing jato.

To be honest, I think it will not be that big of a deal. Most people won't care or don't like to go through all the hassle to make use of the recall.

Not chassis. It's HP transmission and furytech elec. Hpi chassis, axles, body, frame, servos....

Pretty similar to the Hobby plus pro with HPI stamping. Just speculating of course.

The limitation in steering is from the angle that can be achieved, not so much the gyro. This car has much less drift steering angle than a car like the drift art DA4 or something like a GL drift.

I have the porscge and the bmw, they're fun little cars to zip around in small places but as far as I know here in the states the non- gyro models are still about $ 25 and the gyro models are closer to $60. I don't know how much you want to get into rc drifting but for $50-60 you can get a legit 1/18 RWD drift car from LD R/C with a fully tuneable suspension, amber and toe. The gyro isn't the greatest but with that dasmikro added you've got an awesome drift car. The LD1899 it's a skyline r34 and it's actually a diecast body. Definitely worth picking up at least 1 if you want to get into rc drifting

Next gen should get rear suspension to stop the rear hopping

Thanks! Yea after looking a bit more and comparing it to the back to the future version, it looks nearly identical. I still think there is something odd with the front fender though. I am still stoked hpi is back.

I believe Castle creations makes a micro brushless kit, maybe even Furitek.

Check out the eco power servos from amain, or the protek ones. good value if you want well under 100$. Just over 100 check out the power hd s15 or a reefs 299.

Sounds good! definitely a good body for the price. I found you can actually buy new windows and some other parts if they break. I need to get a redcat, missing one of there rigs in my fleet.
