Damn! Couldn’t wrap my head around Clapton’s solo. It’s almost as if his hands were trying hard to keep up with what his mind was trying to do, but somehow he made it work and played one of the best solo’s I’ve ever heard.

One of my all time favourite Purple songs with such beautiful , splendid music and Ian at the top and lyrics so special. They still play it today and I'm looking forward seeing them live again in Oktober.

Oh yeah! 'Big Block' is one of my favorite songs from Jeff Beck. It is track #4 from his 9th solo/studio album 'Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop' released in October 1989. The album is my favorite from Jeff's solo/studio career. The song's title is a reference term for a series of large-displacement, naturally-aspirated, 90°, overhead valve, gasoline-powered, V8 engines produced mainly by the American Chevrolet brand manufacturer [and other General Motors brands Buick, Oldsmobile, and Pontiac] although definitely not limited to as other American brands also produced big block V8 engines including Chrysler and Ford that all produced big block V8 engines. Small block V8 engines were also produced and the difference between a big block and small block V8 engines is dependent on the engineers who designed them. Certainly, the big block engine is larger in size overall. The big block engine weighs more and the valve bores are larger, while the small block engine is built in Mexico as a crate engine for hot rod and restoration enthusiasts. Is it a 'size' concept? I believe it is. Large displacement in terms of cubic inches and cubic centimeters tend to range from 390 cubic inches through to 500 cubic inches, whereas small block displacements range in size from 260 cubic inches through to 389 cubic inches - in general and is not gospel people. When you listen to this song you can feel what Jeff is attempting to convey from it...SIZE counts when it comes to V8 engines...and music too imo. Especially when it comes to amplifiers for electric guitars. For me there is no other brand that produces some of the best electric guitar amplifiers than Marshall. It is well known in the music industry Marshall Amplification is the most recognised. And again though the brand is certainly not limited as the best in the business and there is plenty of hot competition for Marshall in electric guitar amplifiers. One of the main features of Jeff's song 'Big Block' is it is an instrumental and contains no lyrics and that's another reason why I love it. POWER. It is one heck of a powerful song for me. As I say the song needs to be felt when you listen to it. Jeff's whole psyche is running through it like blood through veins and arteries. The song has a thumping bass line riff to it. Bass player Tal Wilkenfield exemplifies the power in the song with her awesome bass guitar playing. So overall here is one heck of a version of Jeff Beck's 'Big Block' track #4 from his 9th solo/studio album 'Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop' released in October 1989.👏
