20:06 This very huge beach house used to be owned by actress, dancer and author Shirley Maclaine. The film was based on her best selling novel "Out On a Limb" (1982). Filmed in this house and on this beach in 1981. Starring Shirley Maclaine as herself, John Heard and Charles Dance as the "English" member of British Parlament. In real life the character was based on the Swedish Prime minister Olaf Palme, who Shirley Maclaine had an Love affair with in the late 1970s. I believe some new owner has added a new section to the beach house. It has become a bigger house. One of the main scenes of the movie was filmed at this particular location in this beach house 25000 Malibu Road. Real Estate business claims Shirley's own beach house was located at Malibu Road 25200. Trance medium Kevin Ryerson visits Shirley and during a medium session he channels different spirits to come through with messages for Shirley Maclaine. The film starring: Shirley Maclaine, John Heard, Charles Dance, Anne Jackson. The theme of the movie is spiritual themes as past lives, reincarnations and karma law of attraction.

I was there 1974-75, my freshman year. I have fond memories of the campus. Some of the buildings from that time remain. Back then tuition was $60 per quarter for 16 units. Yearly cost was $90 for tuition. The education was excellent.

I've noticed a lot of cloudy weather in Los Angeles over the last several years b/c I subscribe to a lot of channels based out of there. Is this a recent development, or is the "sunny all year round" a mistake tourists make? I know there's such a thing as "June gloom" from the sea mist that rolls in, but other than that, I appreciate any perspectives on this.

Hi from Maine. Eagle Rock is where I grew up at though. I often went to Bronson Caves way back in the 70's with friends. One time, We looked down from above the caves on a cliff we were on and saw a small crashed airplane with it's nose sticking into the ground and its tail sticking up in the air. It was at night, around 11 PM. When we went down to see, we discovered a tree nearby the plane with a white parachute hanging from it. It looked bloody. When we went to see if we could help anyone in the airplane we discovered it had no seats or control panels. It was a prop for some tv show that they had just left there overnight thinking nobody would be fools enough to visit the park after dark like we had. Thinking back, it might have been the Colombo episode with Johnnie Cash as a culprit setting up a murder in an airplane... maybe. The time seems right, and from what I recall of the show it had very similar props as the items we found. I'd have to search for the episode and see what I remember after comparing it to my memories. Another time, me and the same two friends went exploring the cliff trails above the caves and my friends dog got lost. We were calling his name out with out hands cupped to our mouths, heads pointed up in the air when I felt something odd 'spiritually' happening. Something just didn't feel the same. It made me think "UFO" even. We were on a very dark trail and it had suddenly grown even darker. I had a sense of foreboding and stopped walking. My friends were behind me about 6 feet away and stopped when I stopped, too. I looked ahead and couldn't see squat, not even the trail, not even my hand when I stuck it out in front of me. I looked around. Ahead was definitely a bit darker than the other directions, but it was the way the trail had led up until then. Trees were on either side. I don't know exactly why I did it, but I felt around for a rock and found one, then I threw it about 8 feet in front of me. I didn't hear a sound. I thought maybe it had landed in a bush or something. I was feeling around for another rock when I heard a very loud BANG that echoed very loudly. With the new rock in my hand, and back to standing facing forward, I carefully took a couple of steps forward. Then I tossed the rock carefully ahead of me and waited to hear it hit the ground in front of me. Nothing. I waited a few seconds. SOMETHING! BOOM and echo again! Turns out we had been heading right for the cliff face and there hadn't been a single warning. In the daylight it wouldn't have mattered, you could easily see where the trail ended and stopped to take in the view. The trail even led straight to the edge, we found out later. But in the dark I only had the warning of God's good guardian angels to save me from taking another ten steps to my death. Car keys were in my pocket too, so my friends would have had to search my dead pockets to get them. I also slept on the hillside at 8:47 in the 80's when I and a friend were homeless. It rained. We got soaked so quickly we didn't even bother getting into the cave. Hard to sleep in the rain in a sleeping bag thinking a tarp was going to save us, but the rains deciding to wash down right at us collectively. Those were the 'memorable' visits to Bronson Caves, but there were about a dozen others were we just went and had lots of fun. That took so long to write that Maine said it missed you, asked how you're doing these days and said to say hello again!😊

We used to slide down this as kids.. 1969 through the early 70s people used to slide down this on snow saucers, bags, cardboard.. I bet they don't allow that anymore.

Imagine the beauty before the homes littered the shoreline. Sad. Looks not dissimilar to a landfill. Reminds me when you fly over Bermuda, looks like a landfill. Gross. What did Don Henley say in the song Last Resort? Call some place paradise, kiss it goodbye. There used to be a time when someone thought to leave it in better shape than you found it. Guess those days gone out by way of the Dinosaurs. Now, exploit it before someone else does. I suppose it will be beautiful again upon days ahead. Until then, drill baby drill, build it, burn it, consume it, dump in it, on it. Refuse to sugar coat it, can't do it. Outrageous! Ice at the poles are going going...buckle up! Drive, fly, boat, burn that gas. Methane bomb fuses are lit...it's fixin to GO OFF. Fixin to get HOT & WILD.

Hello from Maine. I used to live on Winchester Ave which is right near Brand park and library. I'd walk the trails behind the library to see downtown L.A. and also as far as my eyes could see, No rattlesnakes seen like I used to see in the foothills when I li8ved in Eagle Rock next door. I like your style. Suggestions? I'll leave those up to you because you do such a remarkable job. I like the artistical "point of view" framing the library with the rose garden and tile work, too. Many wouldn't have even thought to do that, but you did. You didn't bark a word at us either, you let the sweet sounds of children and other natural sounds do your speaking for you. Yes, you earned my (1) subscription and (2) bell ringing, and (3) thumbs up in return for your creative efforts. They're all I have to honestly give, but those items are valuable to me, so I hope you like the three little treasures I'll now leave you with. Hope all's going well and good for you.
