My channel has varying content, much of it related to Motorcycles/Automobiles. However it is also meant to be autobiographical of my life now as a retired person living with family, friends, and hobbies in San Diego, California. It is a personal journal to be true, but I hope that there is some parts that will related to the human experience of a senior citizen here in the earlier stages of the 21st century. Please enjoy these and know that I enjoy making them!
Testing Toolant Allen Wrenches 4K
In this VLOG we try the "Toolant" Allen wrenches. These were offered to me on trial, and they looked good enough that I wanted to give them a try.
Upon arrival and my first use of them I was impressed, and have now decided to keep them in the "man-cave" for my future uses.
What I like:
#1 Ball end for easy alignment
#2 Color coding for size
#3 Compact and portable storage case
#4 Large size print on the sheathing
#5 Extended shank for better tightening torque
To order these for yourself see the following links;

My 3 year impressions of the 2021 Aprilia Tuono 4K
Просмотров 1962 месяца назад
Even though in the last couple of years my Tuono has been something of a "Garage Queen" due to my limited riding ability. I have formed some opinions about this motorcycle.....nearly all favorable. So, in this VLOG ride along with me as I give you my impressions of a 2021 Aprilia Tuono Factory!
And how is the bike doing? 4K

So, lately the Tuono has been something of a garage queen. With my condition I'm not always able to ride. And now that I can occasionally ride, they need to be on the shorter side. So, I still enjoy doing a mod now and then....so do I have anything planned? Watch and see....... Oh and we dodge some traffic, Oh, and we discuss just where the famous "Wistful Vistas" is located?

Staying on the Tuono and listening to the thunder in the background.....this time I share where I am on my health journey. To the point; my cancer is seemingly gone. However, I have developed radiation burns, "cystitis" from my Proton Radiation Therapy. This has led to many complications and discomforts for me...over the last 3-4 months or so. I am taking medications and doing things to relive ...
Oh NO! Dropping bits of Tuono on the Road! 4K

So I started out to make a Tuono VLOG, finally...and had THIS happen! The rear tail fairing fell off the machine and dropped into the road....I had to stop and run back to fetch it. Unfortunately it's got a couple of scratches. And, now what do I do???? Oh well, stuff happens......I'll pay more attention in future to making sure it is secure before I hit the road on Tony Thunder!

I've had my Dainese D_Air Jacket for quite a while now....never fell on it thankfully. But it still operates and complies so I am rather confident that it will work as stated should it ever need to do so. In this VLOG, we check that the jacket is charged, remove it from the charger, and then put it on...checking for the proper LED sequencing to make sure all is well with the jacket. Follow alon...
Air up the tires on the Tuono! 4K

Thanks to Albie of "Albie's Adventures" I have a "Lexin" digital air compressor. It is small but sooo handy. How long does it take to air up the Tuono tires? Less than a minute! Thanks Albie!

Many of you have followed me through my Prostate Cancer. I had thought my entire cancer journey was finished. And the "cancer" side does seem to be finished, my PSA levels remain low. However I was recently diagnosed with "Radiation Cystitis." This is the result of surrounding tissue burns from the radiation. In this ride we discuss my condition and what my next steps will be..... Unboxing My New Bell eBike Helmet 4K

A little quality garage time unboxing my new Bell eBike helmet. As of March/April '24 this is a real bargain! I purchased this for only $59.25 which is a good price for a quality product from Bell. I have had several Bell helmets over the years and in this VLOG I share my old first full face helmet from the 1970's! Enjoy and comment if you wish.... Oh, and finally.....SUNSHINE in San Diego!

In this garage VLOG we unbox and then install the Fenrir Mirrors on my 2021 Aprilia Tuono. These mirrors are very well made and better looking than the OEM mirrors in my opinion. They are universal fit and an easy install for a nice looking customization of your motorcycle. In addition I am very HAPPY TO SAY DISCOUNT! As a nice gesture Fenrir will give those who use my name; "Garey Cooper" when...

In this in-garage VLOG we install a screen protector on my Sony ZV-E10 camera. I purchased this protector kit on Amazon for $6.98USD myself. Come along with me as we install it together! It has been a rainy and relat...
Unboxing & Using the Lexin Smart Pump P4 Digital Inflator with Albe 4K
Просмотров 3254 месяца назад
What a lucky fellow I am! I have just been visited by Albe of "Albe's ADV" because I won the drawing for a Lexin Smart Pump P4 on his channel. The Smart Pump is a digital inflator. In this VLOG Albe's handles the camera while I unbox and use the pump for the first time. We use it to inflate the rear tire of my 2021 Tuono to the proper pressure in PSI. This little pump is very handy. It's light ...

Really appreciate your detailed sharing Garey!
Great video 👍 Stunning looking bike. I had to make the decision between the 2023 Panigale v4 and the 2023 Streetfighter V4s this year. Agreed re ergonomics, that’s me in my profile pic and after a few mins on the Pani I felt uncomfortable. Doable for a few hours, yes, but, the heat would get to me first 😂 So i went with the SFV4s in grey/nero. 90% the performance speed wise, better handling on twisties or in town, warm but not leg searingly hot and in my option looks way meaner 😈 very slight difference in the gearing/mapping which makes her feel more power at speeds under 70mph/110kmph. The Pani only felt alive after 70.
Just received mine. They seem to work & sound very well. Good video 👍
Have you experienced overheating issues / 240F?
No I have not, it does run hot in the summer.....I wouldn't want to spend extended periods of time at a stoplight, but I don't ride in traffic generally so I am perhaps not the best source for how it might do in traffic stopping at multiple lights.
I have the same jacket. When I connect it to the computer and check to see if there's an update it always tells me it's update with the latest firmware version 1.4.2. I've had mine since 2021 and I may have had one update since then. I can't find anything on the website that allows you to download the latest firmware. I could take it to the Dainese shop in Tokyo again but not sure they'll work on it as I didn't purchase it there. The last time I took it in they mentioned that I would have to send it back to the US since I purchased it online. I hope this gets resolved for you quickly.
this happened to me twice. i hate that thing.
Darn thing is tricky.......It has fooled me in the past but I've never gotten out of the garage and down the road with before.
@@GareyCooperdude i just got my new one in. going to attach a lanyard just in case...
Good one Gary
Did you remove the ear covers that come with the cheek pads? What i mean is if the speakers go directly touching your ears or if you left the filter/screen/cover for the ears that come with the cheek pads
The speakers are uncovered in my set up, so I removed the foam pads in the helmet.
Wish theyade the lower portion black to hide the instrument panel
Great idea! Let's tell them to do it!
You’re awesome man, thank you
Glad to help!
Good job well presented actually bought one love it 👍
Enjoy it
谢谢你,我很喜欢你的视频。
Bro your video come across India 🫠
So cool!
The semi-active suspension was introduced in 2019, I have öhlins EC 2.0 on my 2019 Tuono Factory.
Thanks for the update there....I didn't realize it was introduced in '19. Do you think there'll be any updates coming for the Tuono in the near future? It seems that Aprilia do this every 3-4 years or so.
great video man 👍🏾
Appreciate it
Not sure why everybody praises the "low down torque" on the Tuono, I find it very viby/choppy, almost unusable under 3k rpm, maybe even 4k, and combined with the tall 1st gear. I find myself dropping to 2nd and sometimes even 1st gear on mountain roads where I used to keep my old z900 in 3rd.
I agree, it's not a very flexible engine in that manner. I don't enjoy my Tuono at all when the speed is below 60 km/h / 37 mph, so I avoid city riding as much as I can. It needs 3,5-4k plus rpm to thrive. But it really shines at higher rpm all the way to the 12,5k redline, and then it's absolutely fantastic!
There is a bit of subjectivity to these impressions I must admit. However when I say "low down torque" I don't necessarily means it's the smoothest down at low rpm's. I just mean that it will pull well from down there. If I'm riding in traffic I hate shuffling through the gear box...and my impression is that you don't need to do so that much on the Tuono. BUT, in my long memory bikes have come a long-long way so my impressions might be quite different to yours. In any case I appreciate the comments and perspectives of y'all.
Hope all is well, Garey! I enjoy your very helpful and informative videos. Cheers.
Glad you like them! This is what drives me and keeps me going......thanks again!
Glad to see you are doing well my friend! Two wheeled therapy is a must!
Just a short ride can give your feelings some boost, ain't it the truth!
Gald to see you on the Bike again, hope you clear all health issues and move forward soon, best wishes !
Thanks once again guzziman!
Glad to hear from you again, Garey! I'm sorry you're still going through that kind of stuff but fingers crossed that you continue to improve and feel better!
Thank you kindly....I am improved and at least mostly functional now. I have a ways to go yet. As I have said I will at some stage do a more detailed discussion of my treatment(s) and how I think they've worked in the future in the hope that it can help some people out there....r
I'm glad you are back Garey. I was wondering how your condition was coming along.
I will have to do a more complete run down of what I've been doing and been through at some future point. I'm not done yet, but I am improved and at least functional now. Thanks for the very kind comment.
well done Garey - tough to talk about this kind of stuff I have no doubt, so well done indeed in putting it out there, good luck to you - hope your treatment goes positively, best wishes!
Thanks so much, it means a lot to me. I've heard from others that my experience has helped them as well which makes me feel that sharing can help inform and relieve others. Strange to say that most of us are conditioned to see some things as "private" and "personal" not to be shared. Treatment so far is going okay, still some ways to go but at least I'm mostly functional now.
Wow, I didn't think I'd ever see a bike with worse under seat storage than my Speed Triple. Take a bow Aprilia Tuono! ;-)
You got that right! There is zero room there! I have contemplated getting a tank bag. I used to have one on my BMW some years back...but the darn things are so ugly, however it'd be nice to have a bottle of water and someplace to store small stuff.
Hey Garey, love your videos and your passion. Random question for you; what is that bracelet you are wearing on your right wrist?
Just a silicone wrist strap that I wear....not sure it actually does much, but it's by now become a bit of a good luck charm for me..LOL. Thanks for the kind comments.
@@GareyCooperdude Well it looks really neat. Love to pick something similar up! BTW, I really enjoyed your video you did on hearing protection a few years back, it was a lot of fun! Keep doing what you're doing
Nice to see you back on the bike, enjoy every second of it... 🤟I had my HOA program the exit gate, so I can use it with a remote that I keep in my pocket, otherwise could not get out of the community.
Strange to say some gates work and some don't...I do have a transponder tag on my bike windshield and it will open the entry gates.....I'll have to ask the HOA if there is a remote for the exit gates...thanks for the tip!
@@GareyCooperdude To be clear, our HOA management company had the gate vendor program the exit gate so remote control can open it, it is just service call for the HOA, no big issue at all, all lift master gates can be program at the exit as well. I then bought a remote and programmed it according to the instructions they gave me. I also have a tag to get out of the entry gate, but it is a blind corner in my case a safety hazard, I find once you tell the HOA it is safety hazard, they program the exit gate real quick :)
I just bought the Fanttik pump. I had been using a hand pump but with so many different motorcycles and bicycles it was tough to get the fill nozzle into the tire stem. This works great and the ability to use as a spare power source for phone/etc is nice.
Thanks for sharing
This was a wonderful day for me! Thanks again, Garey for taking such great care of the bike!
You bet & ride safe!
Your are a lucky Man with good ears.🎉😂 Probably I would have noticed until I get home 😅
Strange...that I could actually hear it. You can hear it in the video actually.......but yeah, I'll bet some people don't notice it's gone until they're home or at their destination...!
Thank goodness you felt it and were able to safely retrieve it
True! Glad it didn’t drop on the highway.
I saw/felt mine fall off as I was braking hard from 3 figures into a roundabout, it slid forward and hit my arse, I got my left hand to it and almost caught it but it hit the deck.
That’s exactly where I felt something moving around….LOL. I thought what the heck is that?! Almost funny if you think about it.
Same situation happend to my friend. :-) Just a few scratches but I understand it will piss you off a little bit.
Yeah…..my dumb. A replacement would probably be a fortune. So I may try to touch it up myself?
@@GareyCooperdude maybe it is the chance to little change. Look at the new models 2024. They have same piece but different paint on it. From distance it looks like thetail is more like an arrow. Just a trick of the diagonally cutted decal. I am thinikg about to try it on my MY22 Ultra dark. :-)
The same thing happened to me! It came off on a ride and I wasn't able to find it when I retraced my steps. I ended up buying a new one. I now know how to fit it securely. Unless you check it properly it feels as though it is secure. My dealer said he'd ordered a few of these where people had lost them.
It seems pretty common…… you need to make sure the rear latches are locked I guess. But it can fool you into thinking it’s locked down and it’s NOT…I’ll bet they are expensive to buy.
Nice to see you back on Tony ❤🎉
Thanks! 😃 Glad to do a little riding again Ashley.
Hi Tony nice to hear the sound off the v4 tuono again, I have tuono v4 my self ,very entertaining bike to ride 😊 best regards William
Aren’t they so cool to have? Ride safe!
Hello Garey, I’m watching this great video from a cold and grey UK, still wishing I hadn’t sold my Tuono 😢. Safe travels and stay well.
Sorry to hear that….it’s small consolation but San Diego has had buckets of rain these last couple of years….at least by our normal standards. Hope you’ve got some sunshine heading your way soon!
Good info Garey. This is my 2nd riding season wearing my Smart Jacket.
Glad you liked it!
now we talking
sir, i heard 'around my garage' and u got a subscriber. will finish this video and then check out what wheels you ridin' :)
As someone who suffered from depression and anxiety for many years, the statement "no motorcycles at the therapist's office" is absolutely not true! I can't say riding helps either because I actually took way more risks and rode like an idiot because I didn't care if I crashed or died. I would not recommend riding a motorcycle to anyone who is not right in their head. That said, thanks for the fuel cap review! going to install it on my Ducati today :)
All of my fingers are short except for the middle finger and the thumb. I also have skinny fingers, making it hella hard to find any good options
Gosh, sorry that is a bummer as far as mail order on 'net type orders....particularly when gloves can be expensive. I'd say you should go to a local shop (cycle gear?) who has a good selection and try anything on before buying. I've even found variations from the same manufacturer...good luck!
Hi Gary I watch alot off RUclips videos, and they are great ,I wish you speedy recovery, and look forward to more videos on your tuono best regards William
Thanks William....these positive vibes help me a lot sir!!!
I had a 2018 1290 Super Duke a few years ago, and I put some Rizoma bar end mirrors on it. I had to remove the OEM weights to mount them, and it really affected the bike negatively at certain speeds (very surprising to me). I now have a 2019 Tuono Factory, but I have kept the OEM mirrors in fear of messing up the handling like it did on the Super Duke. The Fenrir mirrors seem to be a really nice OEM replacement and the weights in the bar end stay put. Definitely on my "need to check out" list. How well can you see behind you with the Fenrir Mirrors?
Okay, the absolute truth here is the rear vision is NOT as good as it is with the stock mirrors....one of the reasons the Fenrir look so good is that they are smaller......but you need to move around a bit to get a really good view behind you. No free lunch I guess. It does remind me though that a big twin MAY have more vibration issues than a V4? Don't know for sure but it you try bar ends on the Tuono let me know how they turn out.
Riding my Tuono is much less expensive than visiting a psychologist, and you don't have to make an appointment You are an inspiration Garey, love to see you riding your bikes! Greetings from the southwest of Norway
Agreed, mental cleansing without the psychologist! Thanks for your kind words and greetings right back to southwest Norway from southwest USA/California!
As someone who suffered from depression and anxiety for years this statement is simply not true. No amount of riding has cured my mental illness. Therapy, exercise and meditation cured it, not riding. Riding then became much more enjoyable. Prior to that I was riding recklessly because I didn't care if I lost my life or not.
@@bella_testastretta I guess people are different, for me riding is the therapy
Are you able to talk behind that windscreen and get all the wind noise out I run the base modelTuono windscreen on my factory edition bike because it’s taller but I still can’t talk behind it I’ve tried others but not the one you have
Hmmm. I want to reply correctly here but I'm not sure I totally understand the question? There is better wind protection, but I'm not sure that you could talk behind it in motion...in fact I don't think one could. I use an in-helmet mic which is protected from the wind anyway...the mic also has a wind sock......so that takes care of wind interference for me. Also my communications device is in the helmet, so no wind noise there. So, let me try this; it is better, and it moves the point where the wind hits you further up your chest.....
@@GareyCooperdude Talk behind it is what I meant
Sorry about the typo I didn’t see it. I have the factory addition of the Toronto and I run the base model windscreen it’s the best one I found yet I tried the pew which was worse than any of them. But none of them I can tuck behind on the highway without getting wind in my helmet. I was wondering if you’ve gone to speed at least of 100 or plus to see if you can tuck behind it fully with no wind noise
Best wishes, hope to see you on the Aprillia soon...
I hope so too!
Hang in there Garey, stay strong and positive
Thank you!
I will be praying for you! Wish you all the best. You are staying strong on that E-bike. Hope your back to 100% and pain free very soon.
I appreciate it!
Had a bit of a nightmare with mine getting the USB to detect the jacket. Instructions are really bad. Might do a video of where the bits it talks about in tep xx are as it is really unclear on the screen.
It is not that easy to do quite honestly...so you shouldn't feel too bad about this. The software and connection are not that clear. I think Dainese purchases this firmware and software from a supplier, but they could do a better job in my opinion. They have not updated the firmware in more than a year so I have not had a need to go back to this. However 1 year ago I did do a revised VLOG on this which you can see here; ruclips.net/video/DxRUeC_yxpE/видео.htmlsi=vYoYApysNFpgVrrj. These jackets are now on sale in the US at -35% from normal retail....I still think it's a good product. But you are definitely correct in that the updates could be more easily done!
Outstanding
Hey question Lexin says it doesn't come with a charger. How do you charge it then? Thanks for the video.
Sorry for the delayed response.....but the Lexin has a built in charger...it uses a USBC charger cable, which is included in the kit. You will need a wall adapter for the cable if you want to charge it from a standard wall socket.
