Spin on bottom of corkscrew. Supra @ Lagunaseca with Turn8 12/21/2024
Not the best HPDE day for me, I wasn't well rested and wasn't prepared for the wet track with worn tires. Everyone in my session spun at some point according to the download, and I did on my first lap of the day. Thankfully, nobody got in a hit.
Car stalled in the spin, was terrifying for me in the moment to be going backwards. Gravity helped me get the car to the gravel so I can restart it. Not surprisingly, I got black flagged.
Decided that the day was going to be a chill track day.
Got a better recording audio with the external mic setup right finally so that's good.

Hit a PB! And my GoPro was off during that session. I unfortunately had to pull the video from my dash-cam which had pretty bad audio, apologize about that. Thunderhill Clockwise. Was chasing @EDGEplus to learn the lines from him. Thanks for letting me follow along! 100F Day again. 1:32.71 on track addict. Racebox recorded 1:32.69 Yokohama Advan Apex V601 Tires. Hawk DTC60 brakes.

Another hot day of over 100F ambient temp. I'm starting to get comfortable with the car and learning it. The tires were greasy throughout the day and I was getting some heat exhaustion. But I had a blast. Shoutout to SpeedSF for hosting another awesome event.

First time out at Sonoma and my first time out with Golden Gate Lotus Club. My PB was a 2:07. Super hot day, high of 105F (40C). I definitely can tell that I need to work on my braking as its clear I'm riding the brakes for long instead of committing to a good brake point.

It was session 4 of 07/03/2024 GGLC Event. The Honda Integra in front of me cooked it too hard into T2 and aggressively oversteered. Fearing it might spin into the track and have a head-on with me, I immediately braked, tried my best to stop before it. Luckily, except for me having to hit the brakes a bit, nothing happens.

First time at Laguna Seca, my third track day. I got bumped up to blue group. Had my friend be passenger and I had my best time of the day then. Ended the session early because my tires overheated. 2023 GR Supra Manual Hawk DTC 60 (Front) / 30 (Rear) Castrol SRF Yokohama AdvanV601 Blitz bar and Verus master cylinder brace.

My fourth session in an HPDE. Second session with an instructor. Best lap was a 1:33.14 according to my racebox I noticed on replay that there is some glitches in the video from my dashcam. I'll try to get a gopro setup for the future trackdays. And more seat time ofc :)

😂@01:49 because safe and no damage. I actually think spins and oops are fun to watch (when no damage of course). I also like to post up the ones I have witnessed or participated in. All good. Get back on the horse and take it easy, just as you did. This is an iconic track I have been to but have yet to drive it myself - you are lucky guy!

I've spun FWD on track before, but still any time i see it I'm like "HOW?!?" 🤣 Going in too so fast you want to bail is probably most common and i think what we see here. Sadly this is how i've seen the worst crashes for FWD as well (and rolls.) The other one is clunky gearbox (paddle shift etc) doing the throttle-out to correct sometimes comes in way too late, none issue on any manual. In my case, in the wet with very poor (asymmetrical) tires on rear, they just let go and when they do it can be recovered in dry but in the wet its going to spin so fast its hard if not impossible. Finally most the pro level cars (Time attack, Autocross etc) do have insane amount of oversteer dialed in, but usually the drivers are so used to it that you will never see them spin, less insane for high speed stuff but the national level solo ii champs i've known occasionally have insanely twitchy setups like that, had one who is now a professional driver comment that the only car he couldn't come to terms with was such Solo II setup CRX he was driving on behalf of its owner, it was just too much, constantly trying to spin under anything but acceleration.

@@OttobonWhen your driving the car close to or at its limits gas, brake, or steering wheel can steer the car.
@@cjzx325 I raced and drifted (casually) mid engine cars for years (they don't snap oversteer, its a YOU problem), I'm aware lol 🤣 Was just recounting how ridiculous it is to spin in FWD, just imo, unless crazy circumstances. Trail Braking is your friend unless you get it wrong.
@@Ottobonit’s not ridiculous. Too much brakes during weight transfer is a pretty common cause for spins.
