Let's jungle trip !
Is there a build thread anywhere ? Im just about finished my conversion. Wiring left to do. What did you do for cooling the engine ?
Hey mate, no build thread, sorry. Cooling is a standard 3L radiator with the biggest SPAL fan I could buy, and there's a custom-made shrowd. It does get hot in summer if you're pushing through soft sand for too long. Stays cool if you keep moving. Don't generally overheat when doing doughnuts or skids like in this video it will chop up for ages. It's under-cooled however for really soft sand at low speed. There's a playlist for the build but it doesn't cover wiring or cooling I'm afraid. ruclips.net/p/PL1W_7suHM7BsmmNw1CYB5ifg6kuHoHP7c
@@SUPERCHARGEDHILUX Cheers for the reply. Yeah I've watched all your vids 👌 Love the build. Its all good, I followed for inspiration. Mines all sorted, just gotta dot the i's. Glad to know the stock rad can mostly keep up. 🤙
@superchargedhilux can you share where you go the floor pans from? Thanks

Where did you get the floor pans from? I have a 82 LN46 dual cab that's in need of a new drivers floor pan
www.ebay.com.au/itm/256191665230 & www.ebay.com.au/itm/256191665209
Them spot welds when she still hot give it a hit with a hammer and hold something solid on the other side. Them cab mount ones put a jackstand or something under it spot it and give it another hit
@@tedbrown496 thanks ted I’ll get that a go!
🔥🔥great video‼️
G'day Hilux fans, which city / country are you from?
Fuck yes!! I had one of these back in the day, single cab tub, 308, 35s when they wer considered huge, black paint, I loved it what I would give to have that beast back, the memorys....
Hey I'm putting a l67 in my yn85 and was wondering how the original Rad held up? I'm looking at a 3 core alloy job with big fan from Ebay.
@@oceanz4meYou might be okay, but if you’re going through a lot of very soft sand It might get warm. I am still using the LN106 radiator which is a 3 core copper brass radiator with the most powerful span fan i could buy, which holds up okay, it does get warm when its boggy and you’re going to slow if it’s a hot day. Funnily enough It doesn’t overheat doing donuts and any other kind of thrashing. The only thing that warms it up is long sections of very soft sand if you’re not going fast enough. Any fan needs a good shroud to help the fan pull the air through make sure you fab one up. My shroud could use some flaps on the shroud to help incoming air pass through when there is enough forward speed. I’ve also just removed the air conditioning condenser to help with airflow. We’ll see how that goes.
Brother i heard this thing before i saw it, and just went, what the fuck is that!! Broke my neck to get a look!

Does anyone know what boss kit to use on a 1998 hilux?
🔥🔥🔥
if you dont want it rust anymore put a bitumen part over it i put it in mine hilux 1991 stuff i use is Brushable Hydroseal Bitumen Based, Brushable Waterproofing Coating from mitre10 it $43 it best stuff to play
What size wheels are those? I wanted 33s, but i dont want to catch a defect notice.
33s and a 2" body lift. Driven around on 33's for years without dramas. I recommend them, they much easier than 35's on the breaks, steering components and most importantly their easier to skid.
@SUPERCHARGEDHILUX I am currently running 31s. My next set will definitely be 33s, hopefully after the V8 swap might also look into brake upgrades. Cheers mate.
Good to see your back
Do you have Instagram to follow this build? I plan on doing the same. Just acquiring parts right now

G'day mate, what is the fuel economy like?
Hey, Stich, I'm not too sure it's a weekend car. I'm not counting the km. I think it's reasonable around town! It drinks it however if you're driving like race car driver. From memory, on the last trip I did, it got about ~320 km to ~55L with several overtakes and full load of campaign crap and dirt bike in the back. That would put it right up there at 17/L per 100 haha but it's likely better than that around town.
Thanks for replying mate, I think I've decided to get an L67 then put a turbo on it rather than the supercharger, should be a little better on juice. I'll probably be in touch with more questions as I do the conversion of that's okay. Cheers
I owned a Toyota LN106 and it could go places many other four wheel drive owner feared to go. The 2L motor combined with the front axle setup makes them unstoppable. I live in Indonesia now and drive a Toyota Kijang Kapsul with a 2L motor. Love it😅.
Very nice, super interesting and final result looked amazing.
Is it a disel or petrol?
Petrol v6 with a supercharger
So does 4wd work still or because it's engine swapped it doesn't?
Yeh man 4wd works good. It pulls like a supercharger tractor it’ll break ya neck in 4wd. Heaps of fun to leave it 2wd I don’t use 4wd much unless it gets stuck.
Makes no sense to have the absolute best places to wheel, and the shittiest laws against modifying your vehicles. Good luck
Thanks Jackson it really sucks!!! I want 40”s wheels and a blower is that too much to ask! 😆
LN106
All show no go 💩box
4:00 do they still make these exact bullbars you have or do they not exist anymore?
It is a TJM bullbar and no they don’t make it anymore I don’t think. Pitty because it is the best looking hilux bar! It may still be worth emailing them or something.
Arb look like they have something similar www.arb.com.au/toyota-hilux-1984-1988/bull-bars/
hey love the build. what bullbar is that?
I didn’t think y’all had a rust problem in Australia, you by the coast?
The vehicle lived most of its life inland. It could be worse!
Valve train looks clean to me 👍
Swoit good to know! Thanks mate

Bro what
How much power are you making out of this l67?
Hey Sam try this link there's a dyno sheet. ruclips.net/channel/UC9NFoEi5DJMQV49PujUoE-gcommunity?lb=UgkxHupZS07_-xS41EdotuwSFgv05nRpJDqR
I just realised it says Kalmaker on the dyno. This wasn't the final power. This was an earlier dyno. This was before installing the haltec, wideband and some of the other mods. The long answer is that I have no idea what power it's making now. It does boogy :)

Thanks Mitch! I love the ln65! Love to see some progress pictures.

In Qld those laws are similar for cars, but these are commercial vehicles. Im pretty sure you can drop anything in as long as its mod plated. Not 100% but maybe do some investigating.
I dig this build. Hey from the ozarks of usa, had an 86 toyota pickup a few years ago. Really miss it, you guys have the good hilux yota stuff and here we have all the cheap engines lol
Hi AA thanks for watching I’m hoping more people from the USA will enjoy this also! Australia got a few models which the USA didn’t get. I like watching USA builds on the tubes for these earlier pickups!
@SUPERCHARGEDHILUX check out pirate 4x4 if you haven't already. Good forums. Ee envy the diesels you guys have. I'd love to swap a 4bt cummins into a solid axle pickup.
