Almost Getting Stuck In This Claustrophobic Cave!
Join Bly and I on this under mountain adventure in a glacial boulder cave, as we struggle to get through very tight cracks trying to not get stuck. This cave had me slightly Claustrophobic the whole time, it was tight squeeze after tight squeeze with barely any room to stand after. There was a few times I thought I may get stuck in a squeeze, but saved myself with patience and practice, avoiding a Nutty Putty situation.
This cave formed thousands of years ago from glaciers moving across the mountains, both eroding the sides and summits as well as dropping off other boulders that had gotten trapped in the ice. This would all deposit in some areas building boulder cave systems.

I Found TONS of Dynamite in this RARE 1800's Square Set Mine!
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.3 месяца назад
This mine is full of amazing mining relics and HUGE stopes with many filled with the rare 'Square set" Make sure to watch to the end to see it all! On the way to see the square set rooms, I found dynamite, dynamite boxes, several ore car buckets, and more! This mine was stope after stope which some were six plus stories tall "90 or more feet" and filled with the square set timbering, of which a...
I Found An Endless Void In An Abandoned 1800's Gold Mine

This mine would take DAYS to explore entirely. This was my first return trip in over three years! This mine is loaded with DYNAMITE, ore cars, historic relics, and insanely massive endless voids.... This mine is one of my top when it comes to massive chambers and the ability to see the famous "Square set" style of mining. Though incredible to see its also kind of nerve wrecking as it can be uns...
Discovering A Deadly Underground Lake In Abandoned Mine
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.4 месяца назад
There are some real dangers with exploring mines and caves, this is one I never thought I would encounter. About a year ago "at the time of filming" we explored and documented a MASSIVE tungsten mine in the North West. Little did we know that there were areas filled with the deadly "Sulfuric Acid". I've encountered gas, animals, collapse, and sketchy people, but never a BLOOD RED lake of acid k...
I Climbed Over 150 Feet to Find Explosives and Rolling Mine Carts!
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 месяца назад
Very early last year we headed north for this massive Tungsten Mine! After walking the main haulage tunnel for at least a mile, I started filming in the Hoist Room of a very tall shaft! We decided to climb that shaft "and though it was cool and scary" we made it up several levels, where we found old blasting caps that were used to detonate DYNAMITE, as well as SEVERAL rolling Mine Carts. I hope...

    Sulfuric acid or sulphuric acid known in antiquity as oil of vitriol

  • @patrickvolk7031
    @patrickvolk7031 4 месяца назад

    Yes Iron Pyrite will yield sulphuric acid, Sulfur dioxide, and I hope not hydrogen suflide, which is the worst of the bunch. ANY mine oxidizes the minerals, which get picked up by water. Not only that, it can dissolve other goodies like cadmium. lead, arsenic, nickel, mercury, and other goodies. I would say (but by no means an expert by any stretch), the pH in those pools are under 3, pretty strong.

    I caught myself trying to will the camera to look up at the back when you crossed that rockfall at 2:48. Nice that your gas meter never alarmed when you went in those areas. A drilling tip: If you tubes are only coming back mostly empty with just a loose sand like material and the backflow from the bore is really grey, you are probably drilling through what I call decomposing pyrite. In some of those stopes that have been exposed to air for twenty or so years, that pyrite will turn into a granular grey powder. I suspect that the yellow coating in those moist areas are free sulpher from the pyrite.
