Lovely! finally a scientist's reaction to this masterpiece! it is gratifying to have explanations of scientific terms, even if some are familiar to me. since I was 9 years old, I have been interested in astronomy, the ancient history of the earth, physics, chemistry, biology, etc. However, most people have missed this scientific side of the song. They did talk about the disease Pellagra which was discovered in Europe even though it is from cooking corn as the First Nations of the Americas had discovered how to treat cornmeal with ash to release the B3 vitamins. European peasants didn't know this and as a result developed B3 deficiency - pellagra. I love how a Nanowar of Steel makes me look up stuff (after I have stopped laughing) The Valtellina region of Italy is in the north sandwiched between the Italian lakes and the Swiss Alps. If you want a band singing in Italian the guitarist has a side project from this and his day job (I think he is a computer programmer) and they are called BardoMagno and they do historically themed folk metal. I like their stuff too.

Hello, can you do a reaction video of The Gems - Like a Phoenix? :) It's an all-female classic rock band from Sweden, with ex-Thundermother members, Guernica(singer), Mona and Emlee. The Gems was founded 4 months ago when Thundermother split up and this is their first single.

Here's a fun tidbit I just found out about on Nickey (the keyboard player)....Right before she came on board with Fanny, she was out with Joe Cocker and Leon Russel in Mad Dogs and the Englishman.. I see a female version of Joe Cocker in her. She is high caliber for sure.

The Hu is a Mongolian folk rock band formed in 2016. With traditional Mongolian instrumentation, including the Morin khuur, Tovshuur and Mongolian throat singing, the band calls their style of music "hunnu rock"

Did you know Nightwish has a crab named after the band? (Tanidromites nightwishorum). Also, Tuomas has a gnat fungus named after him (Sciophila holopaineni) and Floor has two species named after her, a brittle star (Ophiomitrella floorae) and a beetle (Tmesisternus floorjanseni). I hope I spelled those species names correctly!

Nanowar of Steel is an amateur metal parody band out of Rome, Italy. Most of their stuff isn't in English, which should come as no surprise. And even the ones that are in English tend to have a lot of multi-lingual puns. I love their "Valhalleluja"; it's so much fun to watch reactors discovering it around Christmas time (since it really is a Christmas song, well, sort of).

The song the keyboard reminded you of, from a horror movie was the theme from Halloween. Composed by John Carpenter. But the killer, Michael Myers doesn't wear a hockey mask. That's Jason Voorhees, whos from Friday the 13th, not Halloween.

Gravity pulling the newborns around the fire . . . that's the planets settling into their orbits around the sun. Wonderful imagery! The "God of the gaps" is specifically a criticism of creationism: the point being that superstitious beliefs are paraded around as "truth", until science explains things, at which point the superstition is dialed back just enough to cover the remaining gaps in our knowledge. (For today's superstitious, a God "explains" whatever went on before the Big Bang.)
