Zukiworld's Fall Classic 2024 Part 3
With the Suzuki based vehicles all low on fuel and the road we had been taking not go through, a group of us had to spend the night on the mountain in our cars. 12 hours later the others returned with fuel and we headed back towards camp and eventually home.

As we leave town and head out to the Fall Classic we need to do a quick parking lot repair at our first fuel stop. Once we meet up with the rest of the group we take a couple dead ends and eventually set up camp. This year's event was relocated from it's usually location so there were alot of things that changed on the fly.
September Shenanigans Part 3

Heading out of the second trail at Evens Creek we had a great view and a nice trip. Did a little rock crawling and found a road that was too difficult to take. Eventually everyone made it out and we had a wonderful trip.

The call went out for a group of Suzukis to go wheeling together up at Evwns Creek OHV area. So about 5 rigs made the drive up and the locals hosted a great weekend of camping and wheeling. Here is some of the footage from the first trail we hit.
Suzuki Sidekick power steering pump on a Suzuki Samurai
Просмотров 402Месяц назад
I was looking all over for a way to use the Sidekick power steering pump and bracket on the Samurai 1.3 engine. I couldn't find any good solutions so I went ahead and made my own. Using a small piece of metal I was able to mount the bracket up a little higher on the engine and had enough room for everything to fit.
Repairing two of the tires I bought for my Suzuki Samurai

Scored a good deal on a set of 35s for the Suzuki Samurai but unfortunately one has a leak and another has a slit in the sidewall. I use some of the glue treads product and made those tires usable.
Gathering parts for the Suzuki Samurai

The plan was to work on getting the Samurai engine all buttoned up but a little bit of time on the marketplace and before you know it we are off buying power steering stuff and some 35s.
Suzuki Samurai body swap Part 2

Once we had the samurai bodies off we needed to put them back onto the different frames. Then we decided to go ahead and try to get the engine back in and started up.

A couple months ago I had all my Suzuki Samurais listed for sale. I set a date for them to be sold by or I would keep them. Well that date has past and so here is the latest plan I have for all of my Samurais

Got the Trash Panda back after having an anti wrap bar installed and I couldn't wait to use it. At 6pm I posted up that I would be at Browns camp the next morning and when I arrived we ended up with a small group of Suzukis. Including a couple sidekicks and a grand vitara

Every year a group of us get together and race the Tuff Truck races at the Clark County fair. The plan this year was to race a 4 door Suzuki Sidekick but that didn't work out so I decided to take my Suzuki Samurai, well that didn't work out either.

Replacing the fuel pump on a Suzuki Samurai
My wife would have killed me. The day I tried finding you guys I was packing an extra 10 gallons of fuel with me and I was only driving from Post. I bet a bunch of you learned some valuable lessons running around remote Central Oregon. Bring extra fuel and read the signs on the side of the road that say. Last gas for 100 miles. Can’t believe you didn’t see the Post store and gas station. You can’t miss it. If you’re ever back you need to stop for a meatloaf sandwich and a milkshake. They are the Bomb!
We are thinking of planning a trip once the snow melts just to see for ourselves if the road goes through
@ count me in for that run.
What psi are you guys running? Looks pretty snotty for snow.
I can't speak for others but in the black vitara we were up around 20.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 I always freak out going too low, but your rigs are probably light enough that you can get away with it.
@Isuzu_Paul for this trip I could have gone lower but traction wasn't my issue it was clearance. When I'm out in the Trash Panda I run the 35s at about 10.
I had to swap mine in my tin top. It got broken in a storm. Good idea to salvage that glass, when mine broke it was really difficult to find a replacement.
I now have both sides available in case I break one.
I’am sorry, but I have questions about gear ratios.. I have a 1995 2 door tintop 5 speed and a 1996 4 door automatic.. I understand that the brake switch is an upgrade, front and rear.. my question is what are the gear ratio differences between them and what would be the final result if I put the front and rear axles complete with housing into the 1995? I’am wanting to lower my RPM if I was booking it down the freeway.. is this the way to accomplish this?
The automatic rigs have 4.68 I think and the manual rigs have 5.12. Unfortunately for you the the spline count on the axles changed in 96. So the swap for you would involve Changing over the axle shafts also
Are you editing out there…. or did you make it back?
We are back home. The final video of how the trip ended will be out next Wednesday
I’m kinda glad I didn’t find you guys now. But on another note. If I would have been there we could have just went to my house in Post to get gas. I have about a 100 gallons on hand.
@offgridliving4128 that would have definitely shortened the rescue mission.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548if you guys ever plan another trip out this way I have plenty of space for camp sites. I own 30 acres which 6 of them are overlooking the crooked river valley.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 my wife brought up a good point that I forgot about. Did anyone read the sign in front of the Post store that says. Last gas for 100 miles?
Posing for the camera with the rear door open is a classic. We’ve all done something stupid like that. Enjoyed watching something other than jeeps on 40’s explore these backroads.
Hopefully you tune in next Wednesday for Part 2
I drove around out there for a couple hours Saturday morning looking for you guys. Finally gave up and went on my own adventure. Ended up in John Day for lunch then the painted hills. Can’t wait for episode 2 to see where you guys ended up for fuel. Most likely the Post store up the road from my house. 50 plus miles from where you are in the video.
I was hoping you would contact me and I could give you all yhe details.
@ I don’t have instagram nor would even know how to use it.
@offgridliving4128 well nuts. Facebook?
The disgust in your voice when you were going through the 11 vehicles at the trail head and said “Lexus” 😂
Hope you were okay
Pretty sure I bruised my sternum but I'm better now.
How awesome! Wish my zuki wasn’t rusted…
This event is hard on the rigs. I think I'm gonna build something just for Tuff Trucks
Hope you enjoyed it!
Definitely was an adventure. Had a great time.
Awesome thumbnail. It's my favorite thing to do!
Thanks. We had alot if great scenery on this trip.
How's the manual trannys in these trackers? I got a lead on a 2003 with less than 80,000 miles on it. I've only driven trackers with automatic transmissions.
Excuse me, i got ur Channel recommendet by another RUclipsr "Tuff Trails", he said u might know some things about Transmissions and what kind of Engines fits the different trnasmissions. I´m from germany, and recently bought an 1.6 Sidekick 5 Door With the 5 Speed Manual Transmission. The 1.6 has a bit less horsepower for my liking. Now my Questions: i could get my Hands on a 2.0 V6 including the Transmission...... Does the H25A and H27A from the Second gen also fits the 1.6 or the 2.0 transmission.... I would love to do a 2.5 V6 or 2.7 V6 Conversion on my Sidekick.... But its so hard to find information about that on the Internet, so i was Hoping, that you would be able to help me out with some Informations.
The 4cylinder 2.0 will bolt up to the 1.6 transmission. You can put the 6 cylinder engine and transmission into.your sidekick but it is alot of wiring. I know a guy who has it.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 thanks mate :D do you happen to know if the Transmissions of the V6 H20A and H25/27A are matching ? ive red quite some few articles about the 2.0V6 and they look identical with the MK2 V6´s, i was wontering if the H20A Transmission would axept a H25 or H27A. would love to give my sidekick like around 170hp
That i am not sure of. Adding a 6 cylinder to a 1st generation isn't done very often. May want to contact a company called Trail Tough out of Medford Oregon. They do suzuki stuff and may be of more help
@trashpandaoffroad3548 thanks a lot ❤️
What did you have to do for the fuel line? I know the fitting for the 92 will not bolt up to the 03
I just cut the connections off and used fuel line to reconnect it to the new fuel rail.
Hello I've got 4.625 front diff and looking changing to the 5.12 what would it be like on the road speeds
Remember you have to do both front and rear ring gears, but it definitely helps to get the car running closer to stock if you have larger tires.
Just curious of what time you guys will be departing camp Saturday morning for the fall classic? I was planning on joining in for the day since I live so close in Post. I’ve tried to make a Zukiworld account with no luck. I’ve tried to contact them with no luck. I’ve tried to join the conversation on Facebook with no luck. It’s almost like they have blocked me. Dave.
Well nuts Dave that sucks. Contact me on Instagram and I will surely keep.you updated. Usually.we leave camp around 9ish but with this being a whole new camp area I can't say 100%
I love automatic transmission in geo tracker 16 valves easy to maintenance and work on really no traffic shifting neither jjjj 🍻.The best way is to maintenance them all the time and if something go wrong the best is to rebuild them properly and kp rocking the rebuild kit is cheap really and will be a new transmission plus engine wise kp some around rebuild them with crank and everything else around 500 to 600 dollars all gaskets pistons as well rings oil pump water pump and everything else including the crank .I recommend better head bolts and connecting rods bolts and really cant cheaper for a new rebuild engine and we looking less than 1000 dollar including the transmission rebuilt kit wow cheap believe me i have a 1996 geo tracker 16 valves automatic transmission 4x4 my horse run great on 31 all season tires on 15x10 wheels no lift only one in on front to make equal with the rear straight i love my rig i build it bulk look like a toy with custom made bikini top took everything out back seat rug and painted with rustulium paint outside inside and under frame floor like new but i can say i go any place with it highways hills all over i been in California Florida nj ny city Connecticut all over main like i said all over never a problem but i take care my rig do.From oil change to everything else is that simple he brings food to my table he is my legs jjjj gd video bro
Where are you finding rebuild kits. I have always heard the 3 speed auto rebuild kit was hard to find
@trashpandaoffroad3548 jjj no bro auto zone have them the whole kit plus the converter to they have.it will be around 300 dollar with the tax for the gd kit.Dont let people talk interfere with you progress ok bro AutoZone have the rebuild kit for 3 speed automatic transmission ok.
@trashpandaoffroad3548 remember to the geo tracker auto transmission is a mini 700R Chevy transmission ok . AutoZone have the transmission kit as well for the standard transmission ok
@salrivera7578 ah I see.
@trashpandaoffroad3548 no problem bro better to rebuild them then by a used one a rebuild transmission is a new transmission as well the engine nothing to it cheaper than a new crap jeep of thousands of dollars . Tracker 16 valves are gd for every environment and can go anywhere nice and smooth gd on gas and cheap to maintenance is all around environment and weather.
This was pretty entertaining to watch, thanks for taking the time to shoot, edit and upload what you had available! I don't think I've ever had the option to really document my own maintenance, mods or adventures so seeing yours is an inspiration for my lazy butt, and it's educational. That said, Kenny's GV adventure made me chuckle because I tend to wheel the same way- almost stock, careful and clever instead of risking anything. Got him through it just like it does me, I know he gets a kick out of surprising all his friends haha
Kenny can sure pick a line. Glad you enjoyed the videos. I think they came out really good thanks to Austin running the go pro. Got alot more action type footage.
That sidestick 😂😂
Amazing explanation
Thanks. I try to do stuff that answers questions I see in alot of.
I'd love to ask you some questions about this rig love it plan on doing the same to my Sami I watched all the videos of the guy who bought this off you but looks like he hasn't posted or replied to anyone in about a year so if you remember anything about this or have a way I can contact the guy that bought it I'd very much appreciate it
I don't know much about how the rig was setup. I bought it already swapped. Matt would be your best resource. He recently sold the samurai so he doesn't have it anymore either.
@trashpandaoffroad3548 alright thank you I was just wondering like what trans was used weather it was the stock sami trans or a different one mostly but thank you
@vtsasquatch3210 I think it was the isuzu trans
Ok that's what I think IV been finding they came with basically a t5 or nv3500 trans and if I'm not mistaken a divorced t case like the same and measurements are close to the Samy trans as fat as length for the shifter but any idea why Matt stop making videos? I loved watching the progress of that sami it gave me great ideas but hope he is doing well
@vtsasquatch3210 ya he is doing good. Life changes. All for the better.
WOW, that was some serious wheeling, Really Really liked the vid. What I found a bit humorous (in a odd kinda way) is that we lift our rigs, we spend hours and hours of working on them, Solid Axels, Lockers, Gearing, Big Tires, Armor and massive Winches... and then there is Kenny... in a mostly stock 2nd gen running the same trails. lol, what's wrong with us Doug? Excellent wheeling vid buddy.
That's the running joke in our group. Kenny is out there with a RTT and small lift just following us everywhere
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 really interesting though...good vid
It's best to add it to the vehicle after it has been sitting in direct sunlight for an hour or so.
Definitely. It helps to let the top stretch. Unfortunately the rampage top just didn't line up with the buttons and straps that my samurai has.
That vitara gets it son
It's amazing the spots Kenny puts that thing into.
Sorry I'm late bro. Still watching when I can. But the sammi and trackers looks good. There's a couple of vids I need to catch up on but will do.
Great. You keep watching them and I'll keep making them. Thanks for the support.
You have a MR2?😊
Nope it belonged to Austin but he traded it for the YJ pickup conversation that is in thw background of some.of the newer videos
Gracias 🗿👍
Glad you like it.
VOTE NO! On 117.
That's the plan
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 I only posted something because every time as of late I watch one of your vids that stupid vote yes on 117 plays.
I’m still in shock I think.
It's all about picking the right line for your rig.
I haven't watched one of your videos in months because even though I'm subscribed and rang the bell, and watch and like all of them, you still drop off my recommended list. I guess i have some catching up.
Thank you for the support. I try to put a video out every Wednesday morning
They look tough but a little strange because you have them in front but not the rear.
Been thinking of what to do in the rear but the fuel door is in the way and I haven't came up with a good way around it.
I have the trail tough adapter kit on mine and it needed a lot of adjustment to get it to line up so the belt wasn’t all catiwompus but it still worked with the belt all twisted, it just made a lot of noise lol. I’m sure you’ll be fine
I don't know if the pump will have the power needed but hopefully this is at least a solution for others who want to run a small tire rig.
So are you using the sidekick steering box what box are you using?
This rig has the toyota IFS box, that's why I had issues with fittings.
That thing looks badass in the thumbnail. A little VW turbo diesel would wake that thing right up plus you'd never have to put fuel in it.
I would love that but currently i got to many projects that don't run to worry about messing with a rig that does.
Thats awesome! I loved wheeling that area years ago. Looks like you guys all had fun minus one ps pump lol.
Even though it rained all day we had a blast. Hope to go back sometime
Yeah my windows still work but thier just mad slow and sometimes stop I’m wondering if I should just lube them, for now at least
Try a dry lube first. It's way easier
who's the guy borrowing a jack for 6 months? thats not a good friend.
Ya but he is my little brother so I love him anyway.
I have the 92 automatic 4wd and the transmission and transfer case needs to be dropped... I can't do it cause I'm a paraplegic so I gta get a buddy to do it. I was gna ask you about how long would it take someone that hasn't ever messed with a tracker transmission to drop one ? And another thing. U said you didn't have to mess with your automatic shifter you just took the ball off the 4wd? Thanks!
It can be done in a weekend. I was referring to the shift know. You don't need to remove the transfer case shifter. Just the knob
Ok and when u said u had to readjust the motor I'm guessin u had to turn the motor over with ur wrench to get ur extension and socket to the torch converter? And u gta take the starter off to ? Lol I never dropped one or put one in. But my automatic transmission is slippin bad so I'm about to do my first one. It's a 92 tracker
@Dust1220 yep you are correct on both of those.
Tube em bro
I have some other 35s I may switch too
You could always tube them
I didn't think of that
Yes sir you are 100% correct. Those triangle wedge shims should be the other way to tilt your pinion up so you don't have extreme angle to prevent vibration and possibility of snapping the drive shaft or a yoke
I was just thinking about that again today. When I work on the axle I guess I will need to fix this also
helpful vid, thanks!
Glad it helped
I would just look for the trail tough bracket, it would be a pain to build lol
I actually just cut and drilled a piece of plate steel and moved the pump up. Will be a video eventually on it.
Thanks for this video. I am about to order and install a new fuel pump for my samurai. The installation was very helpful. I never would have thought about pushing in that engine rod that makes the fuel pump work.
Good luck. It seems easy enough but sometimes it doesn't work on the first try. Make sure to keep the pump level as you attach it so the rod doesnt go over the push part of the pump.
Fun times dude, wish I had a tintop laying around in the back yard 🤩
Pretty sure I am not keeping it. Trying to cut down to maybe only 8 or 9 vehicles.
@@trashpandaoffroad3548 lol, I feel ya. There is a tintop in similar shape up here and it’s been on marketplace all summer. Engine supposedly is smoked but it comes with a sidekick with a 16v donor. They were initially asking $3800 but are down to $2800 I think. I just vacant bring myself to even go look at it at that price lol
I decided to stop looking at rigs on marketplace and only look for parts to get mine finished. It works well because if there is a good deal on a complete rig my friends always send me the add. 🤣
Do you still have that tin top tracker ? I was gna see if u would be interested in selling the back door ?
I do have a white 4dr I may be parting out soon.
Sexy
Will the 97 Toyota Camry fit a 96 x90?
I think it will but if I remember correctly the newer ones are cheaper
Where do I buy the window motors for the 1996 Suzuki X90? I've tried Amazon and eBay?
Any out parts house can get them. I get mine from oreilys because those have warranties
