YES EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS

First of all, my title says why I personally believe soushin is not THAT bad. It doesn’t say anywhere where I think it’s not bad at all, and saying that its not bad is ignorant & not right. You’re allowed to say my video is bad, and your opinion is valued, however trying to claim my video comes across as “I know it’s bad but I don’t care” isn’t right either. My video is supposed to be informational, as there are many bad reasons that float around about why you should not ship soushin, and most if not all of these reasons are based off of non-facts or simply interpretations of characters that are special to each individual playing the game. I wasn’t trying to prove soushin was not bad, I was trying to clear up misinformation & provide reasons as to why you can still like the ship & not be labeled a proshipper, comshipper, etc.

I thank you for your input, however, as I was waiting for a comment like this. Truly, I think Soushin is a ship that should be touched with a lot of caution, and I honestly do not think it is so serious to the point where soushin creators should get harassed, attacked, and even berated for it.

@@vietchuuya Alright this comment definitely gave more clarification to at least me. The ship is a proshipper ship to me since it is a problematic ship just by the fact Sou was using, likely preying on his loneliness and obsessive for Shin to a twisted degree. Maybe I'm not fully understanding of what a proshipper means but from again my understanding it is one. But even if it is a proshipper ship I don't think it should cause people to be harassed as said. Ships like these that are toxic have existed for ages and as far as I'm aware haven't caused any harm. As long as the ship doesn't reflect what you want and or just something grooming since that's just gross to ship. (Which this is not.)

For years and generations people with darker skin have been condemned and shamed for, and as an asian person that definitely passes for asian, I believe there’s no harm in adding rep to characters that are already existing. I’m not taking away any features nor any asian aspects away from the character as light skin is NOT an aspect of being asian or any other race, and while there is nothing wrong with making new characters for rep, there is still colorism and racism out in the world which as people of color we should know this by now. If nonpoc are able to enjoy most of the cast of shows being pale and white, then people of color whether darker skinned or light skinned can enjoy having characters that look like them as well. Whitewashing is bad because it takes away from what little minorities HAVE, and so: no, I don’t believe “blackwashing” is a thing. I’m not going to argue with you over this topic, so if it makes you angry that I’m adding rep then I’m sorry but my account is not for you. I’m not “baiting” or “making people angry on purpose.” I’m trying to be mindful of my friends and make others feel included.

as an asian with the skin color of dazai in this video, I felt kind of weird seeing it lol xD I'm not really sure how I feel about it. Like, my way of viewing it is is like fixing art. If I made a white oc and someone change the skin color, I'd feel kinda offended. If you want representation, just make another oc!!!! You don't have to change already made character. Just make another one.... There is increasing casual representation of poc, so imo you reaaally don't need to change perfectly fine characters. But that's just my two cents, do whatever ig! You art style is adorable btw :D

@@m1churr0 I get you! It is oc-fiying the characters which I find nothing wrong with it, actually pretty fun! Everyone's interpretations are different (as long as no one is in the harm here) and I enjoy seeing work like this ^^

Everyone wants someone to relate to and be given representation I get that, and you're art is very pretty and I do love Dazai's character but saying that Blackwashing isnt a thing is a bit weird from my perspective because to me it seems like you're changing this Japanese character to fit what you want. Its not like its the worst thing to do in the world but its what you're doing right? Changing a characters skin tone "erasing" as you say, someones culture (Japans) and replacing it with another I want to preface this isnt out of malice but just a genuine comment from my point of view since I dont view myself as rac1st, I just think that saying that Blackwashing and Whitewashing not holding similar weights of erasure is a bit weird
