    I've got this exact same running gear recently. I've assembled the running gear, but haven't put on the decking or rails yet. I'm stealing all of your build design and dimensions other than using the 2 X 4's on the outside of the decking. I'll use all 5/4's straight across, as I want to use this as a wagon to pull my nieces and nephews around the trails on our property, and want the deck to be flat for them. Thanks for making this video!

    Excellent video, excellent job. I have a gravel drive about 1/4 mile long. I have an EA land plane that does a great job, also a few box blades with rippers. Two tractors, Kubota B2601 and MU5660. I need a scraper blade to reditch the sides. I have spent enough $$$, and have been looking at those County Line scrapers from TS. Just am not convinced my B2601 won't tear one up. They all say "medium duty", which means "will break if used". Thoughts?

    I'd be curious to see the contents of the trap once it's been emptied; to what degree is the setup effective against biting [black/horse/deer] flies vs ordinary flies (which are being lured via the smelly "trap 'n toss" bait)? I'm thinking about building a trap similar to yours, though I'm not sure to what degree I should get a lighter colour fly screen [so that the biting flies focus on the ball & then go straight up VS attempt to attack the trap from the outside due to the black mesh]. In either case, this is a great concept; those other "pro" $400/unit variants are way too costly, especially when you need multiple units. 😮‍💨 Keep up the good work my friend! 👍

    • @homesteadpilgrim
      @homesteadpilgrim Месяц назад

      Thanks, Tommy. The trapntoss at the top is filled up by the end of the season. The biting black flies are noticeably absent around our home since I started placing the trap by early June through October. That is the only hard evidence I can collect, other than the filled trap. Your other ideas are interesting and worth trying, maybe build one with black screen and another with lighter color?

I waited all of 2023 summer for this sale. I would say if you want this, buy it, it’s worth it, but do not buy it for more than $200-$230. Also I recommend buying the grill cover as well. You are talking apples and oranges Gord. To begin with, the Denyo generator you refer to is a diesel unit, not LPG/NG. Most diesel generators only come with a 24 hour run belly tank, so it might add considerable cost to have to get storage capacity for beyond that. Further, the unit you refer to isn’t providing power at the 60hZ standard. The denyo is running at 50. And the machine noise is obviously going to be quieter on a machine running at 1800 vs 3600 rpm. I don’t think the homeowner here likely wanted to invest the additional 6-9k necessary for a unit running at 1800 rpm. With that said, for the gentleman who posted this. Why Generac? Did you consider other brands such as Cummins, Kohler, or Briggs and Stratton? I’m just wondering other than “I want power”, what were the factors in choosing Generac specifically? Certainly their marketing is the best but there are arguments to be made in favor of some of the other manufacturers. I’m not knocking your decision I’m just very curious what the determinative factors are. In addition, lots of other commenters mention Generac but no one mentions the others in this thread at all

      @@homesteadpilgrim that is a huge factor. I really appreciate that response. If it’s unclear, I’m in the home and commercial generator business and we shifted away from Generac about 5 years. I won’t get into all the reasoning BUT…a good install and regular maintenance by qualified folks are without a doubt HUGE factors in long term run of the unit

    25:00 This is brutally loud, and my neighbors would not be happy with me. Why can't you and the other generator manufacturers look at the Malie DCA-45MZ Generator, which is quiet by design rather than loud and putting a bunch of installation around it.
