Ezekiel 4: Exploring Prophetic Symbolism and Divine Justice
In this session, we delve deep into Ezekiel 4, examining the prophet's powerful symbolic actions and their theological implications. 8th week matches esther where they kill their enemies and esther gets a free house then they build the second temple. 9th jesus, 10th final judgement in rev 20. weeks 1-6 are easy week 7 is ??? possibly the babylonian period still as the animal apocalypse focuses a lot on that
Animal apocalypse Eventually It focuses a lot on Ezekiel 9, and other books to do with the Babylonian judgement where the shepherds (Levite priests) kill innocent Israelites, and do other sins. In Ezekiel 9 God appointed men to kill Israelites without the seal of God on them but apparently they killed righteous people too. Then it skips to Maccabees (all the ravens and other animals as many nations came against the Israelites then) then skips to the final judgement in Rev 20, then Rev 21 22 the new Jerusalem. The man with the writing instrument in Ezekiel 9 must be an angel as he goes up to heaven. The 7 men in Ezek 9 appear in the final judgement section of the animal apocalypse. The numbered list of shepherds 28 etc could be the priests between Ezekiel and the Maccabean period. The throne in the pleasant land is the throne in rev 20 in the new Jerusalem. The first star is the devil the stars with organs as big as horses is the spirits from the giants. Horse length averages 2 metres so the giants may have been 2 metres high. The new house being made is hard one.. Enoch sees 2 houses in heaven elsewhere. The temple on earth was a shadow of heavenly things.... but it is describing the new Jerusalem I suppose. blinded sheep means when the israelites were not faithful to God eyes opened means when they were. it has saul david samuel solomon in there. some stuff to do with moses and arron was a bit confusing
Thank you, Dr. Miryam Brand. So, the ancient Israelites would have held the view of Gen 3, as you are extrapolating in your presentation. Would it be reasonable to conclude then that even up until the time of Jesus, this view of Gen 3 would have been widely held by the Israelites living at that time? So, Jesus, the various sects of Israelites such as Pharisees and Sadducees, and all of Jesus’ disciples, including the apostle Paul, would have held this worldview of Gen 3 and the nature of sin’s origin? If this is true, then most evangelicals have misunderstood much of the NT writings. Your view helps explain much of what the New Testament writers like Jude and Peter had in their heads when they wrote, especially Jude 1:6 and 2 Peter 2:4. As a follower of Christ, you have given me a different way to see the OT and NT writings. I'm intrigued by this view being less widely discussed among biblical scholars. Could you shed some light on this?
So glad I found you I have dead sea scrolls in English book but am not a scholar I pray Holy Spirit will use this to strength my trusting Soul God bless you
Hi Dr. Brand. Where is the first class?
Thanks Dr. Brand!
My pleasure!
Thank you. I wish you explained why these 200 angels were called "The Watchers." Is this a job title (and if so, what and who are they, and what are they watching), or a synonym for angel (and I mean all angelic beings, not Angel as a job title for messenger), etc? 1:06:00 well, I commented too soon! Thank you for briefly explaining Watcher usually means Angels. But why "watch"?
It's from the word "irim" (in Aramaic, "irin") meaning the "awake ones" -- probably due to the tradition that angels do not sleep.
A bust.

Thanks Dr. Brand!
You should read the book of jubilees and read what it says about enoch and noah it was found in the dead sea scrolls and in the eithiopian canon!!!
Everyone just thinks about sex because we humans are sexual beings... that's how we come into existence, but most people can't believe that Jesus,is the son of God, because they are thinking God, have no son, because God, can't have sex...but Jesus,is called a so on our beliefs God, himself is in the human like form and because Jesus actually represents us, and we are the children's of God, then Jesus is called a son.spiritual beings didn't have no sex with women...we are the children's of God, because God,made us and those who follow God's ways are called children of God,but there is no sex between God, and no form of a God, female,or human female,so we are called children of the devil's because we live in devilish ways.satan, did not have sex with Eve,so Cane, was not the sexual contact son of Satan, but cane, became the son of Satan because Cane, had devilish mental ways.cane, and able, were probably twin's... so how able, is Adam's,son but Cane is the devil's son based on sex?.... Again Noah, was set aside for the purpose of God, and he had to be strange in order to be set apart from those other people, who were all black skin people.Noah, is the beginning of mankind after the great world flood.
If humans consist of flesh and blood, and angels are spiritual beings, and then humans are born from the womb of women and the blood sperm of man, then when and how can spiritual beings get human female pregnant, where the sperm blood comes from????? The children of Satan, are those who do the bidding of Satan.the word of God, said in the next life humans will become like angels.. not giving into marriage, meaning that sexual contact is done away with...so fallen angels are just that because they went against the way of God, and humans were naturally big... Noah,is just an albino, and everyone else around were black and that's why he looked strange.if Noah, was born of fallen angels, how he became one of God's, favorite son's?????. Noah was supposed to be special cause he represents the end and beginning of new life." How did spiritual beings get a dick, and have blood and sperm???".
Watching from India.... I am a recent convert to Christianity and i have heard about the man on the bible.....

Thank you for this talk. I enjoyed it immensely! In regard to purgatory, according to the catechism of the catholic church: III. THE FINAL PURIFICATION, OR PURGATORY 1030 All who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven. 1031 The Church gives the name Purgatory to this final purification of the elect, which is entirely different from the punishment of the damned. The Church formulated her doctrine of faith on Purgatory especially at the Councils of Florence and Trent. The tradition of the Church, by reference to certain texts of Scripture, speaks of a cleansing fire: "As for certain lesser faults, we must believe that, before the Final Judgment, there is a purifying fire. He who is truth says that whoever utters blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will be pardoned neither in this age nor in the age to come. From this sentence we understand that certain offenses can be forgiven in this age, but certain others in the age to come." 1032 This teaching is also based on the practice of prayer for the dead, already mentioned in Sacred Scripture: "Therefore [Judas Maccabeus] made atonement for the dead, that they might be delivered from their sin." From the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God. The Church also commends almsgiving, indulgences, and works of penance undertaken on behalf of the dead: "Let us help and commemorate them. If Job's sons were purified by their father's sacrifice, why would we doubt that our offerings for the dead bring them some consolation? Let us not hesitate to help those who have died and to offer our prayers for them." This is a Roman Catholic belief/doctrine. The Eastern Orthodox churches do not share this view. I only bring this up because there is a podcast called "The Lord of Spirits" that is hosted by two Eastern Orthodox priests. The whole thing is an Easter Orthodox interpretation/commentary/reading of Second Temple literature. I suppose that is why the RUclips algorithm brought me here! Once again, thank you! I am going on to part 2.
Thank you. I find a few things that puzzle me about the relationship of man with animal before the command that we could consume them. I appreciate the broader view of the beginning narative outside of sin and as animal sacrafice was designated a way of atonement for the nation of israel there are many teachings that assert that God gave the blueprint for animal sacrafice when he fashioned garments of animal skin and doubled down on his appreciation for animal sacrifice when Abel offered his sacrafice. Its interesting they were obviously a part of abels life yet there was a specific command that allowed man to eat animals after the flood. Id be interested to see if these ideas connect outside the framework of original sin.
Reading through this chapter,, Its seems to me, that God has a DUAL prophesy going on here, Concerning 3 judgements, That of 1)Antiochus Epiphanes that of 2) Vespasin /Titus and 3) the last Judgemennt at the end of gentile rulership. Its almost as if themes of God's dealings with the jews are expressed in these 3 judgements, Note vs 21 ***For BEHOLD,,, The Lord comes forth out of His place to visit the inhabitants of the earth for their GREAT iniquity, the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her stain** This explictedly speaks of all 3 epochs,, But mostly for this epoch we are in NOW.. To properly interpret scripture one must have a spirit of vision, of feeling, of sensitivity to what God is saying.. After the great destruction of the gentiles armies/hordes gathered around Israel at the end of this epoch, God will complete this prophesy. This epoch is now taking place.. God is preparing His Final Judgements against all mankind, Both gentiles and jews. God commands the few faithful jews to HIDE IN THY CHAMBERS SHUT THE DOORS HIDE THYSELF FOR A LITTLE MOMENT*** Those few faithful will know this verse and do exactly what God commands, The faithless will perish, as they will go out their hiding places. This event is after the great battle of Armageddon in the valley of Judgement All the great hordes of gentiles will be annihilated. Most jews living in Israel will perish in this great war. I think it will be a 7 yr war. Gnostic paul en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jezreel_Valley
The other reference you are thinking of is in Revelation, THe Book of Life is mentioned there as well.
OK here is my take on these few who resurrect, Not all jews of the past resurrect, Only the ones God CHOOSES to rise from the dead, Which 2 groups does God choose? Group 1, the few righteous holy who had not been given recognition in jewish history = they were ignored, despised, rejected, Group 2) a few who were really evil, leading many jews astray that really got on God's nerves and God has no more patience with these evil minds sitting in the graves and says Now Go away from me, leave, you worthless, These are the 2 groups, the very Sons of God will shine like bright stars to assist the jews after Antiochus Epiphanes is killed, and will assit the jews through their history. They are sort of angelic like yet have surpa material bodies. They surive on helping the jewish people as much as they possible can, They walk this earth now, yet are unseen. They are like unto angels resurrected from the dead, They are scattered throughout the world, helping both the few faithful jews and the few faithful gentiles, They walk on earth then and now. This is what I am convinced of. Now that we have this settled we can move on Yes God shows me all things. I never quite understood this verse for the past 40 yrs,m, only just now hearing you speak the interpretations did the meaning become clear. I finally have mt answer, I am as surprised as you Yes God shows me all the scriptures. Genesis to Revelation Gnostic paul
Hi Miryam, so what strikes me is how chap 11 ends with the great antichrist Antiochus Epiph meeting his end EXACTLY as the prophesy states, By the sea, UNREAL< WOW How specific. so we jump ahead some 200++ yrs and we are now at the time Jews are refined through the great tribulations of the 3.5 yrs tribulation. . Gnostic paul
***When the Lord afflicted me on the day of His Holy Wrath** see its this wrath that we all wish to avoid. Its real, it can strike when a nations sin is full blown , developed fruits of the tree, = God will strike. WE all should study how to avoid God's wrath and moreso how to be VERY pleasing to God. This is our goal in like as says the Mishnah. Is Isreal today pleasing God?? How so? In what way? If yes, then Israel has no problems, if TRUE then Her enemies are God's enemies, But if false, not true, then Israel's enemies become God's refining fires. I am reading jewish history now, i do not like what I see. This is the final last epoch of gentile rulership, These are critcal days for all the earth. The nations that refuse to serve Yeshua as Messiah will perish. This is Messiah Holy Judgements, Make no mistake. Gnostic paul
The jeers and insults by ones enemies,, Ohhh how so humuliating, UNREAL, That is the very worst of any human experience, Your worst enemies the pagan gentiles entering your once Holy City,, and laughing at the crisis the suffering,, what misery, UNREAL. I've been there I know what this verse means, Its horrible. God is with me =now I and I will conquor my enemies, As God's enemies Gnostic paul
Hi Miryam, Look at verse 24, your trans has it **end of days** The JPS has **days to come** , When I see **end of days** i think the epoch of the jewish people in the 3.5 yrs of great tribulation just before Messiah destroys Israel's enemies round about her. This **end of days** represents the final time of gentile rulership. Hope to watch all your teachings on youtube. We see chap 11 is about the great battles of every nation , ecah against the other , making alliances , breaking alliances, End of chp 11 Antiochus Epiphanes meets his doom last verse. This is that terrible *^^ days to come^^. Gnostic paul
Thank you very much. That was a funny story at the end, but could it just be that it is a chronological retelling of what happened as opposed to there being a reason for the ordering? For instance, the story of the son with the merchandise could be told as him saying that they robbed us then they killed Mother.
You can certainly see it that way, but the father's point is that in a case like this, you don't tell the story chronologically. You start with the most meaningful, extreme event.
@@miryambrand Professor Brand. Thanks for your answer. I think that the point where the analogy breaks down is that the death of the wife is "news" which would invoke a great emotional response whereas the listing of the wrongs against them is a retelling of a history which I think (based on my limited knowledge) might be done in the torah for other sequences of events. Even without that distinction, I think it is debatable though interesting. Do you know of any other places in Scripture where it is argued that the ordering of events being retold is of significance? (or references where I can look them up?) Thank you and God bless you.

Miryan hello, and thank you so much for your podcast. I heard about you from a class I took. In particular your book "Evil Without and Within". I'm wondering if you have done any podcast referring to Second Temple works on origin of evil. I'm a Christian and find your perspectives very helpful. Thanks for your work.
Hi Wayne. Sure I have! It's at understandingsin.com/ . They're a little out of order because I'm re-releasing them, but all the episodes are there and available on podcast apps.
Miryan, I did find your website and have listened to your teachings. I'm especially interested in second temple writings. A scholar Dr. Michael Heiser brought to my attention the New Testament authors were using the book of Enoch , ref. Jude 6; 2 Peter 2:4. Which adds needed context to Genesis 6 (English version). This is not a majority view within Christianity, but it makes too much much plausible sense for me to disregard it. I really like your teaching when I can keep up. God has given you a brilliant mind, thanks for breaking your knowledge down so even us lay people can benefit.
@@Wayne-lt7zv Thank you!
There are ways to tell if they are telling the truth, you have to know more than they do and be able to prove it. If you make a claim publicly it will be dealt with inside of 21 days, they loose power and have to lie 100% after the entities find them to be useless.
If God increased the pains of giving birth to children.. did Eve had children before the curse of increased pain with no pain?
In the biblical narrative, Eve only gives birth after they are kicked out of Eden.
