Throwback: A Ride on Paris RER Line E (Oct. 15, 2019)
A visit by the Motor Bus Society to the Musée des transports urbains de France (Urban Transport Museum of France) gave us the opportunity to ride Line E of Paris' Réseau Express Régional (Regional Express Network), specifically the E2 branch, from Magenta Station to its eastern terminus at Chelles-Gournay, where the Museum picked us up in a vintage bus and brought us to the museum for a fun visit. This is a short ride, from Rosa Parks to Noisy-le-Sec stations, with a stop at Pantin. Enjoy!

Exiting Government Center after a tiring overtime half-shift, I came across the humorous sight of 20208, one of the buses wrapped for Heineken Beer, being towed away after breaking down after its first southbound trip of the day on route 100. Tri-Rail operates directly below that station. CSX freights also go through there.
I made one mistake in my rush to make my self-imposed Noon upload deadline, the 09100 series coach is actually 09109, not 06. The 09109 was recently withdrawn from service, too. Lots of great bus catches in this.
Route 204
I made a slight mistake at 1:45 as we were actually at Madison and 28th, walking back to 26th after that. I spent about 35 minutes there waiting for the BxM4C, and a couple people were already at the stop when we got there. A testament to either normal demand, or fare-free-induced demand. Either way, the route makes for a pleasant alternative to taking the 4 train to the number 20 or 21 bus, provided that you're willing to sit through the crawling traffic on the Major Deegan (which typically clears up past the Cross Bronx Expressway, I-95, going northbound).
Because of an oversight while I was compiling this video, the last of the long train clips does repeat. Sorry about that!

It's typically used by trains entering a station on the opposite track.

I wish! They're available for any transit museum to take as long as they pay the transportation costs, MDT will prep them for transport though.

Yep, typical summertime thunderstorms. This bolt just happened to hit real close. If I had kept recording as I boarded the train a minute later, you would've heard an even louder clap of thunder.
How did you know this bus was being removed from service after completing the route it was doing?
I was tipped off about 2 days in advance that February 7th would be the last day for the 9900 series, and I knew this trip on the 204 was the last trip of this particular run before it returned to the garage.
What's weird the first four new cars 301-304 still have not entered service yet
They're being used as testbed cars for new components while they keep trying to figure out the ATO system issues. They're probably gonna be the last cars to go into service, ironically.
@@FernandoZavalaTAT man I just saw some budd cars i haven't seen in a while cars 183-184 & 231-232 crazy because i haven't seen 183 and 184 since 2017. Tought they might have retired it . Unfortunately it was an out of service train
That little musical cue knocks me out. Does it make that sound every time a Metrorail train approaches? And is it just as Dadeland North or systemwide?
It sounds when trains approach as well as when pre-recorded announcements play (service advisories, elevator/escalator outages, etc). It is systemwide, and it was rolled out on Metromover around 2017.
@@FernandoZavalaTAT how about that? And how about that storm? Listen to that car alarm going off in the background. They must be pretty brutal down there. I can only imagine how many ships have gone down off the Miami coast and never risen again; the Cyclops, Witchcraft, Flight 19, the list goes on.

Miami won't be getting an extension to the Metrorail.Instead they got suckered into another busway.Yes folks ,the 1.5 billion dollars Miami Dade collected for the metrorail will not go for metrorail expansion.Most of the people who are affected are black ,Perrine,Goulds ,Florida City ,Homestead,Cutler Ridge. Up north ,up 27th ave ,all the way to Miami Gardens ,all the way to the county line.Suckered again...........Great Video.
27th Avenue will happen at some point because the state did the consulting instead of the (previous) county government. But I'm very unhappy that the south end is stuck with a glorified Busway beautification project instead of a proper rail expansion.
Cascades Station is my favorite on the Red line because the Railroad Crossing E-Bell rings the whole time until the gate goes up.
It's a nice touch
