This is the best install video I have found on RUclips. Great getting to see the whole process without any cuts and I also appreciate that the commentary covered every little step and didn’t assume that we know anything. Also appreciated some of the “pro tips” along the way (like letting the glue dry , making those cuts to avoid the 45°s, covering the pump with the bag, etc.) that I haven’t seen any other tutorials mention. Great video, I’m feeling much more confident to install my own pump myself for the first time tomorrow. Thanks!

At 3:07 what compound are you using for the air release valve?

Apparently you don't realize that you need a 30" x 36" clear working space in front of the electrical panel. According to the National Electrical Code (NEC) Section 110.26, the working space in front of a 120/208 volt electrical panel should be at least 30 inches wide and 36 inches deep. This blatent code violation puts the homeowner ar risk as well as Aqua Pool. Thats why you don't hire non union scabs to do work. They don't care about codes designed to protect workers and the public.

Need at least 5x pipe diameter run before entering this pump. This will void that 3 year warranty. The instructions are in the manual

Great video. So you ran 2 2 pole breakers for vsf pump and jet pump separately? What if you have booster pump for sweep?

Does this pump work with in floor cleaning systems?

I didn't realize you could use DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent) PVC pipes on a high pressure pool pumps, is that lower connection a drain? DWV is limited to 5 PSI, I guess you got the dual marked DWV & Pressure kind that complies with ATSM/ D2665 / D1785 Pressure. Also just curious why you didn't add Sweep 90 degree Ells to gain some water flow efficiency? I am doing this same project right now and adding the sweeping 90 degrees to gain some flow efficiency. I ended up getting Waterway 411-9130 90 degree Elbows 2"S X 2"S Slip, I also got a Ryobi 2 inch 18 volt, PVC cutter, which made fast cuts and super smooth with no need for deburring, made the job so much easier. I think that pump generates 65 GPM in 2 inch config, which will be awesome! Some great tradecraft tips. I would have never thought to cut off the intake pipes and lower them. Nice job!

If I want to hook up my salt system to the 5A max side, can I jump wires from main L1 and L2 over to the 5A L1 and L2 for supply? I have an Intelliflo now and they are both on my 220 gfci breaker in the sub panel, just the salt system goes into a manual timer prior to the salt power supply box. It seems this would make sense to keep both salt system and pump on the same breaker, just wired in the pump area now. Then out to salt supply box.

What’s the benefit to the upgrade from eztouch panel? My screenlogic is shot and looking to get phone connectivity back, but don’t want to drop $700 for a shotty and out of date tech like screen logic again

Where did you find that flange you used to cover the hole for the gas pipe? I don't believe it comes with the heater, does it?

First very clean install but a pain in the but to replace sections later or do maintenance. Since there are no unions(good thing, IMO) leave 8" between pipes to get a saw in and maneuver replacements. Also, should have removed lid and lubed(or confirm lube) o-ring , verified filter manifold not damaged and verified filters still secure.

I'm trying to connect my Hayward AquaRite 900 to the IntelliFlo3 IO board. I'm taking a red and black wire from the SWG to the 16A Supply 1 and Device 1 slots on the IO board however the SWG is not getting any power when the pump is operating. The devise has been added to the program on the App and is enabled. What am I missing? Thank you!

Working on this exact situation tomorrow. 4/21/24 Would appreciate your help. When you are connecting the fireman switch to the automation card with the com cable, does it matter which wire goes on pin 1 and which goes on pin 2 of the 5 amp bar? Asking for a friend. LOL Thank you!

Question how come during your installation of outdoor cables like EitherNet you never place in conduit. My background was a special equipment installer and have always protected exposed wires in a conduit to protect from weather, rats and accidental tripping by people. Thanks.

So if you are powering a salt system how would it change?

Nice install and great demonstration on how to make the pump even with the pipes. In addition when needed on some occasions. I use a reed tool to take the pipe out of the couple connected to the two way check valve if I don’t have enough length. But you definitely went above and beyond for this install.

I just had my Intelliflo3 installed yesterday and technician made the same mistake as you. Per Pentair, inlet requires MINIMUM 5X the diameter of the plumbing (so 10") of straight pipe without fittings or bends or you VOID the warranty. I just off the phone with Pentair and they confirmed this.
