Hoockless rubbish
Curious… I have onyx classic hubs and there is side to side play when the wheel is off but its tight when the axle is torqued. There isnt any drag so I guess im good😊
brilliant! very sorry if this is a dumb question: planning to start training some cycling from home, but wife is pregnant and most likely I'll need to reduce noise at maximum when the baby is around... does it fit in wahoo trainers (or any other trainer's brands) to stop the noise after pedalling? thanks a lot!
I have a Teammachine and I love the geometry, simplicity and performance of this bike. May some day I´v get the masterpiece version, stunning!

Sure they have all the bell & whistles, but with out a rotational speed balance system, Zipp 454s are as useless as tits on a Chicken.

Gotta upgrade your tools to PB Swiss please
As much as we love PB Swiss tools, they are really hard to get here in Canada as there is no distribution. But we are working on upgrading many of our tools to Wera.

Hi @carefulsum, unfortunately they didn't offer any colour options for this one! But it is actually a clear coat over the carbon, so in person you can see all the details and weave of the handmade carbon frame.

Does this require any more or less maintenance than any other high end hub?
Hi @MrTacoJay, Onyx BMX hubs are pretty reliable and require very little maintenance. If you ask any of our mechanics, they would tell you that the Onyx hubs actually require less maintenance than hubs from Chris King.

@@MrTacoJay Ceramic bearings can be a worthwhile upgrade if you are looking for the ultimate reduction in friction and watts saved. And depending on riding conditions, they can extend time periods between services.

Would you choose this wheel over the Bontrager Aeolus RSL 62? The Zipp is about 100g lighter but it’s also hookless and uses a proprietary hub, where the Bontrager uses a hooked rim and DT240 hubs. This would be a high mileage wheelset used in ultra distance races.
That hub with a belt drive would be perfect.

beautiful build and video. But the mechanic in me is cringing when you use the park multi Allen wrench all in one tool instead of actual single Allen wrenches that every shop actually has.
I totally understand and he is converting to using the single Wera tools, just a long habit that is hard to break. Close to a decade building bikes with a multi tool and no scratch bikes. Also keep in mind that he only snuggs bolts, everything is tighten and torqued using the Wera Zyklop hex bit B2 for safety.

The way you work with the carbon wheel and spokes on the edge of the table is simply frightening. I wouldn't want my wheel banged and pressed like that. Also a pretty lackluster handlebar wrapping.
Thanks you so much for your feedback. As sure you can tell by looking at them (given your expertise) our counter tops where chosen for their delicate properties and their ability not to harm the product being worked on. Especially tough as nails carbon fibre wheels. Our counters will be nicer to your wheels than any road out there, with exception to Marshmallow road, off of Strawberry lane. As for fan fare, we don't like throwing parties for certain wraps, it makes the other products jealous. But the next time you need bars wrapped, we can gladly wear party hats and have cake. We love cake.

I'm wondering why you think this is backward? Totally different build, you are comparing disc vs rim and also I'm not sure if you noticed but one of the heaviest aero bike ( Cervelo S5 ) is winning massive mountain stages ahead of light bikes. A faster bike is better than lighter, same goes for tire size. Everyone use to run 23 or smaller and now the majority of riders use a 28 or 30mm tire. Plus new bikes ride way better than 10 years ago
