TPW Boot Camp101 Lesson 5 - Freestyle Showdown
One clip makes this much tougher because I had cleaner tricks in other clips but the one I posted had the most useable tricks within the 90 second time frame.
Using my older ultra wide TinyWhoop pinch camera whoop on a BetaFPV Meteor 65mm frame. This is the Happy Model 2G4 FC with a bunch of random spare 702 (26000kv) motors.

I think what made the orbits look better was the ultra wide lens. On both the 75mm open prop build and one of the 65mm where both using the TinyWhoop Ultra wide pinch lens. This Mobula 8 been through the ringer. I can't beleive how much abuse it gotten and still the more expensive components have lasted quite a while. I really like the 2" for the yard because unlike a 65mm or even 76mm whoop, the 85mm (2") can easily turtle flip and get out of the grass pretty easily. Also if you have some open space, you can get going a lot faster with a little bigger whoop. :-D

It is starting to get pretty nice outside here. With a ND16 filter on my GoPro Hero7, it really makes that ground blur look fast. These shots usually look pretty clean because there plenty of light. It can work out ok closer to sunset but often I wait just a little to long and the light drops and I get really grainy and muddy looking shots.

      I haven't looked at this vid in a while...I think this is around the time I was in my first IGOW and really just learning to fly in acro but looks like this flight was full acro, 2s a must have for this 85mm (2") whoop. I had the power on the VTX at 400 it looks like and it does help for when I fly around the back side of the house but if I only fly infront of me with no obstructions I could turn it down but honestly never have. You want to see this same whoop after I learned out to fly it a bit faster, this video might be a better representation of what the Mobula8 can really do. It still probably my favorite go to back yard ripper. Not has bother by the wind as much as the smaller 75 and 65mm whoops. ruclips.net/video/tw9Elt4dj28/видео.htmlsi=JCvXC7DXQi6xo13L

      Well most of this one started as a Mobula7 HD (www.racedayquads.com/products/happymodel-bnf-1s-mobula-7-hd-whoop-choose-version?keyword=mobula). I’m not sure where you would pick up the RunCam Split 3 Lite by itself. I had a Mobula6 HD and I put it on a micro frame (75mm NewBeeDrone Mosquito) and that was a lot of fun until I smack a tree. Lost the lens and SD card in the grass somewhere. That’s why I went with nice slow big motors for cruising and to keep me out of trouble.

    How u power the runcam split 3 lite ? I mean the 5v u take from which pad on fc ?

    • @ToddBurke42
      @ToddBurke42 3 месяца назад

      The only connection point is the camera to the flight controllers camera plug on the X12 flight controller. So it is getting power from the 5V on the camera port. It’s been a while, was the black box in between on that power connection to the splitcam? If so, I must have repined that camera cable but right now it looks just like any other whoop setup. That might have been the other reason I dropped the blackbox.

  • @agung1986

    After converting to 2s my blackbox is burned Idk why maybe the batery voltage is to high or something 😢 Maybe need some stepdown for the blackbox voltage

    • @ToddBurke42
      @ToddBurke42 3 месяца назад

      If I remember correctly I remember looking at the voltage requirements and decided it wasn’t worth keeping. I’ve never been able to match my flights in Gyroflow. I’ve used GyroFlow with my Thumb Pro and it works pretty good with that gyro data. I moved this to an even bigger 85mm (Mobula 8 frame) so I could put bigger props and it’s more stable. Still get some jello but I try to avoid using on super bright days seems to help. If I could find a ND filter that might help with the jello effect.

      @agung1986 3 месяца назад

      @@ToddBurke42 so u didnt use the blackbox ?

    • @ToddBurke42
      @ToddBurke42 3 месяца назад

      @@agung1986 I tried on the original setup but when I moved to 2s I think it wasn't compatible voltage source without some sort of voltage converter so it wasn't worth it. None of my other whoops have a blackbox and they seem fine. I think there are a couple issues why I wasn't getting good results with gyroflow to steady the footage. One was the gryo data not coming from the camera so there a disconnect that small but might be enough. So it might filter out some of the bigger movements but not the smaller vibrations is my guess. The other was it was a pain to match up the gyro data with the footage. Most other things I use gyroflow that work really well is when the camera recording the gyro data and it matches the footage. The cons of having it out way the benefits so I didn't bother keeping it.

    • @ToddBurke42
      @ToddBurke42 3 месяца назад

      I’ll try and remember the next time I have it open. I think what I meant for this setup I was having a hard time keeping the original footage fairly stable so if you let it not have any black box showing, it will zoom to the point you loose that wide angle feel. I personally have not liked the dynamic zoom myself for this very reason. I would rather see the black box on the edges. Just my opinion. I’ve ran Gyroflow on some other footage and it does a really good job.

Though, the vista better in lower light and the other issue with this session is it’s not usable when it’s about 2 or 3 hours till sunset. I don't have a good PID tune for this. I think I created a second profile in BetaFlight and used the Betaflight default PID. I've been kind of going back and forth between the two. I'm really not a good person to ask about tuning this. If you asking what votage my battery is when I land...depending on if you have single cell value showing in the OSD (which then I am usually landing at 3.4V and it will pop back up a bit after landing. I think that would be just under 7V if you looking at the total battery voltage.

I have the same setup and intend to run a runcam thumb 4k. Right now auw is 52g with the baby ratel 2. I also cut the middle of the bassline frame so i can sit the aio lower and not have the plugs hit the frame. I agree it doesn’t fly bad but I think the reason I did this was more for durability as I kept ripping the AIO out of the frame. I even used longer screws and cut down the AIO posts so i can put the screws more into the frame. But im not sure if I like the performance drop as it sits right now. =X thanks

      Yes, stock motor and FC. Anytime you add weight it will start affecting the flight characteristics but I was surprised at how well it carried the camera. Most videos I've seen have been more slow and easy but I thought there was still quite a bit of grip around the corners. Now does it fly the same as without the extra weight, no. Here a video I posted how I would normally fly the completely stock version of the Mobula 8 in the backyard. ruclips.net/video/SncSExxs8J0/видео.htmlsi=SfGipgv68NGsFSHf Though I do hold back a bit with the Thumb because I'm pretty sure that it would explode if I hit a tree dead on with it.
