Suena como 2000 años de color humano o estoy sordo?
was your uncle Myron Woch? (at 2:20 in video)
Yes @ 2:20 that is me sitting on my Uncle Myron’s shoulders, but everyone really called him mouse, or Mousy.
@@gralbr Mouse married my dad’s sister Denise, and also became my uncle - amazing to see this !
@@letmike Aunt Denny….loved her
Thanks for sharing..Sunnyside Dairy a treat!
Was roulette in Essex parade . went to a!it of mustard growing up. Maiden name was Virginia Martin. Brothers were Bill and gilly. Patty was 2 yrs old
Yup, and thank you for this! CT guy here, Fountain Head, Max Creek, NRBQ….good times!!
that dashboard car thing looks cool! I even want to play with it!
Where was this track we took the quarter midgets there for some races
Crowland Kartway. 687 Doans Ridge Road.
Thank you will check it out
@@roryplant2133 I don’t think it is still in operation. That was 60 years ago. But I think the track is still there with a few and carts that broke down a long time ago.
Very nice to see a real market back in the day
Boney's Winsted....
My Granda Charlie was a snare Drummer and co-founder of Nathan Hale Fife and Drums. I was at Deep River as a child too several times. Great to see this video ! Thank you. 68 years old now. Chris in Oregon.
Thanks for the comment Chris. Glad I could take you back in time
Seeing the island emerge from the water was even better.
That is quite the fine automobile the young man has to drive to the ballfield!
Great Video, thanks again to you and the rest of the committee members for a lovely night
1962 and probably 1961 too... ancient mariners in one shot are playing wooden fifes... in another the front rank has metal fifes and different players. also, the bethpage colonials in the first shots are in their original uniforms... later, in their current style uniforms.
What wonderful memories to cherish. I also grew up in Welland.
Thanks Bev
Wow! I graduated Old Saybrook High School in 2006, and though I'm not sure if they ever changed the marching band uniforms, I'm struck by how LEAFY main street was back then! Thank You for this!
Best town to grow up in! Straight from a Norman Rockwell painting!
The year I was born. This is so cool Also the year of the Miracle at Niagara when Roger Woodward went over Falls after a boating accident wearing just a life jacket and survived
Can you please make a video about Saugatuck River Bridge ( William F. Cribari Memorial Bridge) in Westport ,Connecticut ?
When summer is over, I will have more time
that bridge is a giant piece of shit that constantly fails and backs up traffic for miles. what is worse is all the dumb ass sailboat yuppies that come from out of town and decide to take their sailboat up the river (which is stupid because you cant sail and there is nothing to see up river) and this causes traffic to back up for 30 minutes every time one of these sailboat assh*les decides to go up river. I say tear that piece of sh*t down and build a real bridge, it's 2021.
TRee cutting old saybrook 162.
My Uncle ran the markewt for years lol
Love seeing old pics or videos of Welland I lived here few blocks away from Navy.
Great video! My grandmother used to have a Summer home on Maple Avenue & Jarvis Road ... At the very location where it appears you shot this footage.
Thanks for posting I believe that car was the Gold Star Mother's car, right, ? My Aunt Hazel was in the car, I graduated in 1955, and I did recognized some faces,,
My ex-husband worked at Essex boat works, essex
I love that area,it is my home, I have not been back for 20 yrs,Im in Florida
Wow, what memories I have from this band! Use to catch them in Pawcatuck, CT, at what was the Old Rossolini’s. Thanks for sharing this.
Check this video out next then. ruclips.net/video/aD4AAjiqZMA/видео.html
Love your style. Laid back, but flows wonderfully! TYSM!
Thank you. We all love positive feedback 😁
This is probably one of the saddest video's i've ever seen. I was the lane mechanic during the mid 80's, around the time just before automatic scoring came on the scene. The memories and stories are vast. But this hurts.
Ah, the final demise of the place of my misspent adolescence! So many doobies puffed in the woods behind the alley, and countless days cutting school and playing pinball
I believe its at 503 Doan's Ridge Rd. If you google maps that you can see the track still.
687 Doan’s Ridge Road
Awesome video. I spent a lot of time there. Tons of fun. Kids today haven't a clue on what they're missing. Thanks for the video
How about a brief description ie Where's the track, whos racing? any thing else. I believe you are the small child riding with your Dad near the end?
Kevin Ellis ......This was filmed by my father in Welland, Ontario, Canada, in 1962. I am the child riding with my Dad at the end of the movie. I am also pictured at the end of the racing sequence with my Uncle Audie. My father left me with about 2 hours of ”Home Movies” from the 1960’s. I have digitized the movies and imported them into IMovie on my Mac. I am choosing clips that I think may be interesting to folks and posting them on my channel. I grew up in Connecticut. My Mom is originally from Welland, so I have some interesting clips from that region of Southern Ontario
@@gralbr So Far I 've watched and enjoyed all of your video's. Navy St.. Slaughter House, Niagara Falls, Ft. Erie Race Track. Crystal Beach, Welland Go Cart. Did I miss any? My wife asks if you have any from the Welland Fair on Denistoun St.? Keep up the good work

Wasn't even born yet. Find the footage from the 1979 muster so I can say that I was there on Rattling Valley at least
What does it say on the building at 9:14? I can't make out the sign.

Great video,Can imagine the smell of the salt water . Love OldSaybrook beaches.
Thanks for putting this together and posting it. I fondly recall the parades and musters of the area, though from the late 60's when we lived in Old Saybrook. I do recall that the Essex Sailing Masters always seemed to be the best-looking at these events.
Awesome. I saw myself and my family marching with Good Shepherd from Plainview, NY at spots in this video. Great memories.
hi Greg. Great video! The drumming at 1:40 is a piece by my father Alan Piner called McAlpine which he wrote in around 1959!!! it sounds like it is played by pipe drummers (closed rolls etc). Where there pipe (Canadian) present at the muster. Was this audio recorded with the video or is it stock audio added to the video?
Dad passed away in 2005.
Keep the comments coming, I love it.
My father is also in this video Ben Emerick Capt James Buxton Fife and drum from Uxbridge ma.
Thanks for the reply
This is awesome. Thanks for putting it together and posting. My dad is in this and it I was totally surprise when I saw him!
The peel is removed perhaps you can't see it in the video
Not exactly, a cheap $100 blender such as the Ninja for example will leave chunks of ice in your blended drink no matter how long you blend it for. It just doesn't match a power blender such a Vitamix.
Your blender doesn't have to be terribly powerful if you put the fluids in first, then the ice. Pouring fluids over ice turns it into a big brick... Otherwise, looks like a great recipe!
That's the best Christmas card EVER!!!!! I would love to get together for a coffee someday!!! Miss you and still think of you. Love Janine
