Much better without music
You have got to love the beauty of NZ, Great to see it so well presented in this lovely video,
Y'all keep it country! ...Take 2
Yes, take 2. When you step away from it for a while you look again and see a few things you missed. Hope you liked it. It is my last one from the New Zealand trip. Pete
@@pjg54g Sorry to see the end of the NZ road trip...but where will you take us to next?
Thanks for asking! It will be Netherlands, Norway, Faroe Isles, Iceland, Shetland Isles, Scotland and Greenland..... but not until September.
Curious, where are you? I am in Texas.
@@pjg54g Enjoy the cruise! We live in Manchester, England but travel regularly back to our roots in Scotland.
I would have been even more impressed if one of the bungee jumper had pulled out a fish. I am with @conniemckown3871, no way would I jump off on a bit of elastic. Fantastic footage again, the air is so clean down there. Those hairpins would be nice on an empty road! Really must go again and do the bits we missed. Excellent editing Pete.
As if fishing isn’t random enough. You can ask for a “splash” jump and you might get lucky, but you better be quick. No way I would jump either, but fun to watch. On one of the hairpins the steering wheel hit the stop and I went wide, fortunately nothing was coming. I actually spent a lot of time learning and editing more, like lowering the music and increasing the ambient sounds for the lake. Also, after the ferry vid getting almost 90k views I feel I have to keep up a standard. 🙂 You could save about 50 hours flying and watch all my videos, this is the last of the NZ ones.
No bungy jumping for me but the boat rides look inviting. Especially the steamboat that’s more my speed.
Thank you for no posting the first comment. I like flying but not by bungy. The steam boat looked so classy!
If I was younger riding my motorcycle on the winding roads through the pass would have been a thrill.
At long last a vid without a silly music sound track - thanks!
Thank you! Yes, a couple of my viewers said they wanted to hear real sounds not just music. Many Agree. I am about to upload another video about Queenstown New Zealand with a mix of music and sounds and would appreciate your comment on that. Pete
Natural wind ,panning Camara more pleasant
Thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Pete
I'm rather surprised that so many vehicles are in an open deck, exposed to the salt spray. Why is that necessary.? Why can't the entirety be under cover.?
I suspect, like most things, it is down to cost. Thank you for your comment. Pete
What season is that ? Because it's an awful long way to go (and expensive) for weather that looks not much better than our winter in Europe.
Early March, the day before was the most beautiful weather in Wellington and that afternoon was just beautiful in Blenheim. We were unlucky for the ferry crossing. Really unlucky!
👍🏾Au naturale 💚💙✨️
Thank you for your comment. Most people do not take the time to comment. Much appreciated!
Ahhh the sound of the waves...Wonderful video of stunning New Zealand...On my bucket list... Regards from Shillong, India
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your comment. Also, it is exciting to know you are in Shillong, India. I looked on the map to see where it is!🙂
Yes Pete, we are located in the foothills of the Himalayas with the heaviest rainfalls in the world. We are also blessed with an unimaginable beautiful nature and environment, very unlike other parts of India .. worth a visit when you have the time..
@BahFrancis That sounds like a very special place and I would love to visit India one day.
Fortunately Our neighbors are from India and are good friends. We love to talk to them and it’s the next best thing to visiting India!

Thank you so much for your comment! It makes me feel good. So many people enjoy but do not take the time to comment. Pete
Natural sound sounds better
Thank you!
There is nothing more melodic than the ocean! Thank you, Pete, you nailed it!
Thanks! I’m still thinking about what to do about the wind noise though in places. Maybe just add some “ambient” sounds?
@@pjg54g Leave it like it is Pete, no need for embellishment.
Nature sounds good. I like it.
Thanks MM

It was so cool!

Very beautiful done and enjoyed ❤

1:40 did he signal you to run over the pigeon?
Ha ha yes the seagull seemed to pick up the pace as I got closer but was confident enough not to fly off!
That is some stunning scenery. Shame the weather wasn't kinder for your visit.
Thank you!
Friendly staff kicks
About 20 years ago i took a seedpot of one of those huge New Zealand Flax plants from that coast. Send it to my parents in Holland and its now growing huge in Holland (in a container)…🙂
That's a great story! Anything growing there has to be hardy. Thank you for your comment.
So fanterstic

Yes it was! But weather was spectacular the day before and that afternoon. Made the crossing interesting though. Thank you!

No smoking? You couldn't lite one if you tried, Wellington all over. Can't beat the bay. Haha!
Thank you for your comment.
❤
Ah, memories. rode that ferry in August of 2006. 3 awesome weeks in New Zealand. we had much nicer weather.
Thanks for your comment. Glad it brought back some memories for you. We were so hoping for good weather, it was beautiful the day before and again an hour after we arrived on the South Island. That’s the weather for you!
great video ......good to see EX IRISH FERRIES "ISLE OF INNISFREE"(1995) built for Dublin /Holyhead and later Rosslare/Pembroke....interesting to see the internal changes made over the years by other ferry operators (p&o/stena line) while on charter from irish ferries and finally sold to interislander in 2017....
Thank you! Appreciate your taking the time to share that interesting background information about the ship. 🙂 Pete
@@pjg54g enjoyed video ....i see bluebridge commemara in port on your arrival.... i had many a rough crossing in the bay of biscay while she was operating for brittany ferries from rosslare to bilbao spain ....
@@MR.T.. I love that story with additional information relating to its past life! Great that it means something to you to see it again and refreshes your memory.
Done it across many a time BUT won't go on a day when the water swell is above 3 metres A real washing machine ride people spewing up everywhere haha
There wasn’t much motion of the ship surprisingly but it was listing to one side a lot of the time which made walking around tricky. Also for my filming it was hard to determine the actual horizon which you will notice in my video. Oops shouldn’t have mentioned that ha ha. Thank you for your comment! Pete
I am sorry to say but The competition is better, faster boarding, better service, better ship. The interislanders are ticking time bombs and running in borrowed time - old ship, tired crew. Cabin staff give zero f….s - Canteen is filthy with fingerprints on all the glass dating back to the mid 2000‘s😂 Had a dog in the camper in the hill but will never do that again - diesel fumes and noise is terrible. Bluebridge ferry offers a cheap cabin for dog owners so you can stay with your pet - the bonus us if you have to abandon ship you won’t have to leave your dog behind like on the Interislander.
Thank you for your comment.
Such a beautiful and relaxing place for a walking tour along the Hobbiton in NZ. The atmosphere is so different, with the sensation of the presence of buildings that are so magnificent and unique. Thank you for bringing us this walking tour✨💞
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Yes it is a very special place, and I have never seen any of the movies!
Went over and back late march/early april in a motorhome. Thought it expensive for 4 hr trip at $500 each way. I probably could have got flights and accomodation, and come out infront.
Thank you for your comment. I agree that was expensive. I believe BlueBridge is a bit cheaper. I took the ferry for the experience not cost effectiveness. Hoping for that perfect weather day for the scenery…… Also since passengers had to stay in for the weather there was not enough seating.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it.
Needs voice narration.
I like voice narration too but I am relatively new to this and haven't worked that out yet. Thank you for your comment. Pete

Walk in the park, that would be one of the Nicer days on Cook Strait
That's how it was the day I crossed. I would have preferred better weather for photography. Thank you for your comment. Peter, Texas USA
good video but music overpowering.
Understand, thank you for your comment. Pete
Brilliant clear quality video, thank you . What camera did you use to get this so crystal clear footage.
You are welcome, and your comment is much appreciated. I used a Gopro 10 windshield mounted for getting on and off the ship. Everything else was iPhone 11 at 4K 30 frames per second. All processed with CapCut free software. Regards, Pete
Hi Pete, You did a great video here and I enjoyed the trip. Haven't sailed on Kaitaki and was interested in the interior layout and passenger comforts etc. Altogether a good informational and well filmed vid. You should try Bluebridge, the private ferry operator, different atmosphere on board especially if they are carrying livestock. Cheers matee (y)
Thank you for the compliment, made my day! It was very crowded inside for this trip due to the bad weather and short of seating.I did not get to sit beside my wife due to lack of two seats together. There were two large empty cattle trucks you can see in the video and the smell was awful, could not escape it despite the 65 mph winds. Will keep Bluebridge in mind. Thanks again. Pete, Texas, USA
