First week in-still training-I thought I was going to have to choke out a fifty-ish male manager for yelling and insulting a young female cashier--out best cashier. I get $11.50/hr but I have to have this job. I am a disabled vet denied benefits from VA. // I'm studying your videos so I can figure it out. No time for questions at my store. /I'm a new ASM. My manager is great but she is leaving in Jan. / You do what you gotta do.

Dollar Tree is the most basic simple thing that you can possibly use registerwise.Nobody needs a video on this. You need to spend. Your time doing something more constructive

I haven't watched the whole video yet, but my #1 tip is this: Do not let anyone give you more money or try to switch out the bills they gave you once you have entered it in the computer and that drawer kicks open. Tell them you are sorry, but no changes once the drawer is open. People try this all the time in my area and it's usually to try and confuse you so you give them more money back than you should have. Sometimes it's also people wanting to give you change so they get back less loose change, but that's hard to do mentally on the spot in front of so many eyes and can also cause you to give more change back than you should have. Just say no.

i just started as a cashier at a different store and i got MAX five minutes training 😆 the manager that hired me wasn't in and forgot i was coming, but the store had a manager from a different store working there and she helped me (she also had the same first name and haircut as me so that was super weird lol) but she hadn't worked that store before either so she just had me stand there rather than walk around and stock stuff when customers weren't trying to check out, and didn't show me around much because she also didn't know much about the specific store i'm hoping next time i go, the manager for that store will be there and give me a little more help buuuut i did 4 hours almost on my own (there's only 3 registers total and apparently only 1-2 cashiers at a time) besides the visiting manager occasionally jumping on a second register if there were a lot of people, and helping if i had questions on things like returns, item cancellations, all that stuff and honestly there were a few little things but overall it went better than expected, especially with MINIMAL training (a few people told me to "keep the change" but i'm not tipped and they left before i could give it to them, so my register was over by a little....) but i also watched a few videos like this beforehand and i do think it helped a litte

I’ve never worked cashier so I’m nervous but I’m gonna take my time but also try not to be too too slow
