Day 7 - Cody, WY to Craig, CO
Today was a long 406 miles in the desert of Wyoming. We ran into heavy rain just outside of Rawlins, WY. Had to put the camera away. At least you didn't have to watch more desert.

Good job but you need a Full Face ModularHelmet
How do you like your ride? Looks sharp!
I really like it. I am now working on getting the equipment needed to start videos again. The last couple of years has been hard to travel and now I can get back into it. Thanks for looking at the videos.
@@Likecash well that's great! Best wishes! 💜🤗
nice! looks fun
It has been awhile since I have posted a video and need to get back into it for this new riding season. Trying to learn the new video editing software. Thanks for watching.
Just ran across your video bun burner 1000 man you have some good content come on back and keep the videos coming on video number four
Thanks. Last year on our trip to Sturgis it was so hot that my camera equipment kept turning off. I just gave up. Will be going to Yellowstone this year and will try again to get some videos out. Bought a new camera setup and different mounts for the bike.
What was the part number please
I don't remember what the part number was for the grips.
Thanks for the vid bro. Sorry you had to ride through big sky country while it was so smoky. Ride safe this summer season.
Thanks for watching. I finally get to travel this year and make some more videos.
Congratulations on achieving the silver. That’s quite a feat in itself. I’m thinking about doing an SS1k for the hell of it. Stopping at dealerships seems like it would be really time consuming. Is that what hindered achieving gold status?
Yes, I really wanted the gold but it is alright. I at least got the silver. The gold is achievable though. Thanks for watching.
If you have a receipt, why the hell didnt you take it back and exchange it?????
I called and talked with the store I purchased it from and I was told to call the manufacturer. I did that and they wanted me to pay for the cost of sending it to them.
I’ve never been one for making good decisions one of my worst decisions ever was to spend less money and save time and buy the Harbor freight motorcycle lift
I ended up selling it and the person who bought it was going to change the jack with something more sturdy. Thanks for watching. It has been hard trying to travel the past couple of years and I will be back on the road in a couple of months. Going to Wyoming to ride in their mountains. Videos to come.
Do you hear as much noise as we do? I thought those HD touring bikes were quiet.
Different exhaust. Thanks for watching.
Not the Bike. It's the wrong. Helmet for videos
Nice ride buddy.
It was a nice day for a ride. We went to a Military Funeral and were on our way back. Thanks for watching. Need to start talking a little bit to give the story.
Someone put a lot of effort I could not hear single word
Thank you for watching. I keep trying to get better with the videos.
Hiya Riding, I very much appreciate the content , sub-ed to your channel :) keep on making videos !! I too publish posts about nature in England and the United Kingdom :):)
Thanks for watching. I hope this year will be better and lets me do more riding and videos.
I remember when Cabbage was an old two lane. There was a graveyard / junkyard of victims, rusted out hulks at the bottom.
It is a fun one to go up or down. Thanks for watching.
I ride a Harley bagger. I bought a lift from HF and it worked fine until it sat in the garage through a winter. It would no longer lift my bike. Got a replacement ram and it worked until it sat in the garage through another winter. Seems like the cold weather affects the Seels.
Mine just starting leaking oil, fast. Had it 3 months.
It wasn't long after this I sold it to someone who was going to put a different pump on it. Thanks for watching.
Can't see a closeup so it wasn't helpful
Beautiful scenery!
Thank you. Such a beautiful ride. I am anxious for next year and do some more travel and to be able to post my trips.
beautiful road, ideal for motorcycling, the landscape is beautiful
Yes, that is a very nice motorcycle road. Thanks for watching.
This is the third video of yours I have watched and the best so far. I love the music you added!! It must be so fun riding out into the distance. I’m a Mom of 17 year old twins and live in Long Island, New York. I have always dreamed of owning a motorcycle but now that I am so needed around here it’s a dream that is still put on hold but my kids will be off to college soon so hopefully then I can make my dream come true and buy a bike and drive off into the sunset. 😁 Thank you for the great video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved watching this video. I especially enjoyed all the talking , it made for an interesting ride. Probably a dumb question but I am just wondering if what we hear on the video is the exact same sound you also hear , as far as the sound from your bike. I’m just surprised how quiet it is. I would have imagined it to be so much louder. Thanks for making this wonderful video!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for watching the video. The mike for the camera is in my helmet. It does sound a little bit louder. I have the Cobra Neighbor Haters on it and they do have a low rumble to them.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I would love to hear music with your great videos!! You’re so lucky to be close to nature and drive through such beautiful areas. Truly enjoyed watching. Thank you 💕
Thank you for your comment. I usually ride with a group and we all have Sena's and we can talk back and forth while riding. Usually when I am with this group I will not talk for the camera. This year has been real hard to ride due to all of the issues. I have only been able to put on about 4,000 miles this year. Now that it is getting to be fall and winter I am starting to plan my 2021 rides. I will be doing more solo rides and with those I will be doing some talking and will be adding music back into the videos. Thank you for watching and I really like the Lolo pass going into Montana from Idaho. I have been trying to learn to do better videos and give a story.
Great video man. Gave you a sub. I seriously like long-distance riding.
Welcome back to RUclips.
Yes, with all the stuff going on this year my riding has taken a hit. Thanks for watching and commenting. I am trying to work on some video changes as well.
What do you think of that Indian Challenger, Steve?
Haven't paid too much attention to the Indian. I know that I wouldn't mind looking at them if I was to look for another bike.
Looked like a nice relaxing ride. Very cool.
Yes, it was a very nice ride except the fog at the end. Hopefully will go back in October and ride it again. Thanks for watching.
Awesome ride Steve!....ya can't go wrong with some extra chrome accents!....Looks great..Stay well
Thanks Rich. During this time I need to get out and ride and get some fresh air. Ride Safe.
Too many trees for Gillette
Congrats on your Silver! It's a huge accomplishment and personal achievement. ! I earned a Silver last August ('19). My goal was Gold but rain at 4:00AM by Bozeman that I didn't see coming and wasn't dressed for, did me in. It was 43 degrees, I ended up getting a room, a hot shower, and a 1.5 hour nap. Total time to find a hotel, unpack, recover, re-pack and get going was enough to wipe out my Gold hopes! Better safe than sorry, I'd rather live to try again! Again, congrats and thanks for sharing. Thanks for watching. Yes, it is a hard one for sure. If I hadn't stopped at the Harley Dealerships on my way I would have made the 24 as well. I am happy with the Silver knowing I could have made it Gold. I was tired at the end and was having a hard time sitting in the seat. Glad it was done though. I think doing the border to border would be a good one as well. Not sure if I could get that one done. Congratulations on getting the BB 1500. Not many people will do it and we did it.
They sell hydraulic plugs on Amazon. As for the linkage, I recall seeing a fix on youtube. I'm guessing you'd need to redrill it.
Thanks for watching. I ended up selling the lift to someone that wanted to put a different jack on it.
I have always enjoyed that stretch of road. Something I like about running along the river in arid country. Not sure what it is but I like it. Maybe the desolation.
The desert can be pretty in its own way.
Any updates on the fix? I have one with the same identical issue. I’ve owned it less than 1 year and I’m not impressed on how the release rod isn’t straight to help release the tension and lower the lift...
I ended up selling the lift. The person who bought it said he was going to replace the lift with something else. I just wasn't going to deal with it. Thanks for watching.
Freedom.
Yes, it is. Anytime I can get on the motorcycle and ride is a good day. Hopefully this next year I can put in some more long trips. Thanks for watching.
when was this? looks like good ridin'
This trip took place in mid October. I have had two surgeries since then and trying to get this trip up on RUclips. Thanks for watching.
Looks like a good ride
Yes, it was. Other than being cold it was very good. I enjoy going south into warmer weather. Thanks for watching.
Another fucking MAGA Moron. You get what you pay for Crybaby.
OMG Steve!.....What a beautiful video on some beautiful roads! Great trip ....good start! Thanks
I really enjoyed this day. When we left Jackpot, NV and before we got to Wells, NV we got into some 16 degree weather. Wow, even the heated gear was hard to keep up with the lower temperature. Thanks for watching.
Nice video. As many miles as you put down you should take a look at the new Challenger. With all of the known engineering flaws in the M-8 I see nothing but trouble in the future, You don;t want to get stuck in the middle of Puckerbrush, Arkansas waiting on a tow truck needing a new engine.
That is for sure. My warranty runs out on July 30, 2020. I figure if I put in enough miles maybe all of the stuff that could go wrong will be done by then. This next year another trip to Arkansas and I am wanting to do the Pacific Coast Highway. Love to travel. Thanks for watching.
Good video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching.
Congratulations....I'm planning on Doing this in 2020...
You will have fun and will feel like you really have accomplished something when you get through it. Thanks for watching.
beautiful roads, it makes you want to go there
Thanks for watching. Yes, for me they were important since I lay it down and was able to save the paint.
A must have with saddle bags!...Nice work Steve!
New subscriber Steve!....Love the bike....Beautiful Blue!
Thank you. Thanks for Watching.
Good video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching.
Did you get the oil transfer problem fixed? Harley now has an "inner primary vent service kit" available. I was wondering if that was installed on your, and if it worked to solve the oil migration issue?
Yes, I took the bike in and they did put in the Inner Primary Vent Service Kit. I just finished the 4100 mile trip to Arkansas and it looks like it solved my issue. Hopefully I will not have any other issues. I now have 31,000 miles on the bike. I have the bike under Warranty until July 31, 2020.
@@Likecash Thank you for the response! I really appreciate it a lot. I've seen quite a few videos highlighting this particular issue, but not a lot of feedback about the fix. Mines transferring oil at a pretty high rate. On my 2019, at my 1K service, I loosened the derby cover an oil came poring out of the primary. So I made sure to set the primary and trans levels exactly per the service manual on refill, and only went 175 miles before my transmission dipstick was reading dry and the primary overflowing (had to add seven ounces of fluid to get the trans reading on the dipstick again). I'm getting the vent kit this week, and was very curious to hear how it's working for other guys. Thanks Again!!! P.S. I really like my FLHT, looking forward to getting this thing sorted, and racking up some miles like you.
One of the things H-D Service told me was that they have to see it themselves and not take the word of the buyer. They themselves need to document what they see for the Corporate office and then they would deem it through warranty. Strange but that is what happened with my issue. Hope it works out for you. I am surprised that there has not been a recall but they wait for the riders to have issues or an issue with the engines. I do appreciate the service guys at our dealership and they have worked with me through the issues so not trying to make H-D look bad but just the truth.
@@Likecash 10-4 good copy. This is my fifth Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, and I've had to do this dance before. I'm not badmouthing Harley either. I love my bike. And I like doing motorcycle maintenance. Tackling stuff like this is half the fun of owning a Harley. My girlfriend calls it "doing guy stuff". But as you advise, and under the circumstances it is advisable, I'm having the dealer install the vent kit on mine. Part of the reason I commented here looking for 'fix' info is that there is a certain amount of subterfuge or maybe just mis-information out there. It's just the nature of the beast I guess. I spoke with two dealers about the oil migration I'm observing on my bike, and the vent kit as the potential fix. One's response was, "First I've heard of it, do you have a part number for the vent kit?". Kind of felt like I was being stonewalled. The other dealer's response was, "Yes, we see it all the time. Yes, we have a primary vent kit we install, and it will fix the problem, under warranty. Bring the bike in. We'll do it while you wait". I'm going with this dealer. And at the rate my primary is sucking up the trans fluid, they'll have plenty to document when I get there. Thanks again for your advice Steve, and for sharing your experience! It's good to hear of a positive outcome from an owner.
nice video with beautiful landscapes and great music
Thanks for watching.
I love riding through the canyon. Good camping and fishing too. I kinda like the desert but Easton area is probably more to most peoples liking. Have fun, Steve. Going to the Oyster run?
Thanks for watching. Yes, I do plan on being at the Oyster Run. Will ride over on Saturday and then attend the Rally. Always look forward to being there.
beautiful road! it makes you want
Thank you for watching. Yes, the trip was fun and makes me want to stay off of the interstate.
Another nice video. You should have way more subscribers. I don't even know of another touring bike vlogger in the Tri-Cities, mush less one who lays down the miles you do.
Thanks. This year I won't have as many miles but try to get out as much as possible. I am trying to plan a 30 day trip next year. Lets hope it works out.
