me and my family went on vacation when I was 13 and the lake was very wavy and filled with currents I was in the lake with my brother and I told him "mom says theres currents we shouldnt go to far" him being as impulsive as he is "ill be fine" 4 seconds later "SAM HELPPPPP" And I went to try to grab him but something just stopped me, now looking back I and him would have died if I went so I ran back to the shore time felt like it slowed down I was in a race against time, if I didnt get there fast enough I was gonna lose my brother, so I get there and scream to my mom to go save him, I watched her run as fast as she could to go save him and I sat there and prayed while my dad wasted beside me was making jokes about it, she grabbed him just as he went under, 2 seconds later he would have been dead. my brother almost died that day, Im forever thankful that I got to save his life, thats my twin brother and Im happy to say hes still alive and happy to this day 4 years later. All I could think in that time was "Please don't go under, hold on I still need you in my life, Your the reason my suicide never happened" im happy hes safe
