Nice!! This is a challenging piece, timing wise AND skipping around chromatically like that, I'd imagine. Was that a key change in there, too? Didn't sound like you just moved to the upper octave. (coming from somebody who doesn't play the HD, just guessing by ear)
@@jaymiemaham9582 Thanks! It’s all in the key of G but I’m moving across 3 octaves! My next step will be to get this up to full speed, probably after the holidays, and I’ll record it again when that happens.
This is awesome.
@@gaylanbrown-southflorida3461 Thanks so much!
This is cool!
Very nice
Beautiful! And I love the tone of your dulcimer. But as someone else said, you can't go wrong with a NHD!!
Beautiful and love the sound or tone.
Lovely! And your instrument has such a mellow tone. Really dig it. (of course, we both know you can't go wrong with a NHD!) 😉
Thank you! You may be interested in knowing that it is in Bb 😍
@@ckostyn ambitious key!
It isn't that different, but I like the tone - and it has a bit more sustain. I don't need to transpose as I play solo for the most part. My NH Chromatic Baritone stays in A.
On point! Had to come back for another listen this morning. Good job, gal. ;)
Thank you!
love this!
Thanks Gaylan!
Very Nice Catherine!
Thanks Andy!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Lovely tune and well played. I felt like I was on a misty shore waiting for the boat.
Thank you Gail!
What growth you’ve had on this fun instrument! Great job!👏🏼
Thanks so much, and also to my teacher :-)
Bravo!!! 🎉
Beautifully done.
Nice! Those flutes have such a lovely voice. I'm often tempted...but if I ever jump on one, it'll be if I can find one in low D. I already drive my spouse crazy with the occasional pennywhistle. 🤣
I have one a bit lower than this, an F#m mid-range. I would love a Low D but that would be too much of a finger and arm reach for me. My whistles don’t get much attention now but they led me to these flutes and I’m happy with that.
Sounding great!
Thanks!
can you tell what kind of dulcimer you play
This is a New Harmony 25" vsl Whale Tail. Sinker Redwood top and Bubinga back and sides. I LOVE it!
very nice
Thank you
Only 16 months? You are doing great!!
Thanks Joe!

Thanks Mark!
Hi Cathryn, I love this. I attended the Coptic Orthodox Church in Cairo, Egypt for a few years while I lived there. That period brought a lot of new understanding and deepening in my life. I still have a love and appreciation for the Orthodox Church as I experienced it there in Egypt. Thanks for posting it.
Thank you for sharing your story Mary, I've a deep respect for the Coptic Orthodox Christians, very glad you were able to spend some time with them.
