I build Cigar Box Guitars, my recommendation is to install a magnetic pickup in that. I have a video with a paint can lid Resonator with a lipstick pickup.

To think i bought 6 string electric guitars , and i could have better effect with 3 string cigar box .
I recently learned the same thing. Been "trying" to play guitar for 25 years and now I'm building CBGs and buying stick dulcimers because I can pick up these simple instruments and instantly improve my satisfaction from playing because of the simplicity of the instruments themselves. Hopefully, the gains I make can at some point and to some extent be transferred back to the 6 string. It's all about being a better guitar player, lol.😂

What size of the string do you use? And what the size do you recomend for slide guitar player?
For my acoustics I use medium 13-56 Gauge strings. You can play slide on pretty much any size string but I like mediums for the tone and it does seem easier.
