Damn this song be giving me vocal nodules 🤣🤣🤣
Currently screaming in my car at 7AM to this
Fantastic male version.
Imagine Glee does a Wicked musical with Kurt as Elphaba and Rachel as Glinda.
Elphaba, why couldn't you Have stayed calm for once? Instead of flying off the handle! I hope you're happy I hope you're happy now I hope you're happy how you've Hurt your cause forever I hope you think you're clever I hope you're happy I hope you're happy, too I hope you're proud how you Would grovel in submission To feed your own ambition So though I can't imagine how I hope you're happy right now Elphie, listen to me, just say you're sorry! You can still be with the wizard What you've worked and waited for You can have all you ever wanted I know But I don't want it No, I can't want it anymore Something has changed within me Something is not the same I'm through with playing by the rules Of someone else's game Too late for second-guessing Too late to go back to sleep It's time to trust my instincts Close my eyes and leap! It's time to try defying gravity I think I'll try defying gravity And you can't pull me down Can't I make you understand You're having delusions of grandeur? I'm through accepting limits 'Cause someone says they're so Some things I cannot change But 'til I try, I'll never know! Too long I've been afraid of Losing love I guess I've lost Well, if that's love It comes at much too high a cost! I'd sooner buy defying gravity Kiss me goodbye, I'm defying gravity And you can't pull me down Glinda, come with me Think of what we could do, together! Unlimited Together, we're unlimited Together we'll be the greatest Team there's ever been Glinda, dreams the way we planned 'em If we work in tandem There's no fight we cannot win Just you and I, defying gravity With you and I defying gravity They'll never bring us down! Well, are you coming? I hope you're happy Now that you're choosing this You, too I hope it brings you bliss I really hope you get it And you don't live to regret it I hope you're happy in the end I hope you're happy my friend So if you care to find me Look to the western sky! As someone told me lately "Everyone deserves the chance to fly!" And if I'm flying solo At least I'm flying free To those who ground me Take a message back from me Tell them how I am defying gravity! I'm flying high, defying gravity! And soon, I'll match them in renown And nobody in all of Oz No wizard that there is or was Is ever gonna bring me down! I hope you're happy Look at her! She's wicked! Get her! Bring me down! No one mourns the wicked! So we've got to bring her Oh! Down!
Elphaba’s voice reminds me of Freddie Highmore voice when he sings
Almost there... Just a little more practice.
The energy and vocal prowess is specular! Bravo, gentlemen!
i can hit the original ones but it's so unhealthy to do it, it's better this key for me, i'm a boy
YALL- just because it’s hard to hit some notes and if you can’t hit any at all- it doesn’t mean you’re a bad singer.
crazy how easy it is for me to sing this with my chest voice, no squeaky head voice required :D
When you can only manage to sing Defying Gravity when it's shifted to male pitch (I'm female btw ;-;)
Maybe you’re an alto or a low mezzo.
OMG I loved it! What's the high note in the end??
A4

4:31 BEST PART OF THE SONG"
If Draco and Harry were both in slytherin and dorm mates
yes
I can imagine that
This is the whole reason I looked this up lol
Oof still to high for me...
Start at 1:16
Most of Idina Menzel's pitch shifts sound so natural and nice!
I can hit the original for a male
you can hear how she mixes her voice on the “deFYing gravity”, you don’t have to constantly belt!
It counts by hitting it in head voice right
The high note is a C#5... ugh
It replaces the high F?
itscalebbarrera yes.

I acn Finally reach the high Notes
This is what real magic sounds like!!!!
After reading all the comments, I feel out of place because I’m a Soprano 😂 Just came here for head cannons
As a tenor this is a wet dream come true.
RIGHTTTT my shower performance is about to get a lil bit better without my heavy mix
This sounds like pure crap. Nevermind that the part is a female part, so to make it sound male is ridiculous.
Jukka70 ...... why is it ridiculous? The “male part” is just to draw people in, basically clickbait. But the lower pitch is not only so tenors and basses can sing this, but also so lower range Altos can as well.
@@Nimblescape It sounds like they slowed down a record, and again they aren't male parts in the show.
@@Jukka70 i never said they were the actual male parts in the show....... it was turning the solo into a male part by lowering the pitch -_-
@@Nimblescape ok
And you sound ridiculous. Quit being a party pooper.
I hit every note😉
Glenn and Ephraim~?
It sounds like Kermit the frog 🐸
Guys, does singing in head voice count? Because I'm seeing a lot of guys saying they can sing, and also referring to Chris Colfer and Mitch Grassi, but those guys sing in head voice most of the time.
Lucca Cidade it is part of your range
It's very possible for tenors to mix this high. I hear it all the time.
Head voice counts it's a technique called Falsetto
Lucca Cidade im a tenor and i mix it soo if it sounds like im screaming i just go into head voice but My question is when u belt is it suppose to sound like ur almost screaming or...
What key is this?!??? Im a Alto 2 and I can hit every note
The tonic key (main key) is A major
Aderinsola Adebiyi what???
bootiful
I played the original song and this at the same time and the harmonies are creepy
It really sounds like its a male and female duet
But why would a boy want to sing this??
Because it's an amazing song. That has nothing to do with gender.
Chayenne Oosterveld ok?🙄
Hannah Kallio idk what i am, baritone? Tenor?
Are you serious??? The song is written for a witch named Elphaba. Key word witch, its a female part
Jukka70 Male’s can be witches. And it’s not like a male is gonna get the Bway part, but it’s a pretty challenging song.
TT Bret brought me here because they used the song in a parody thing and I wanted to know if the whole song had been pitched down
they're male voices make me question my sexuality holy shit
It's okay to swing both ways, fam! :D It's not always one or the other~
I can hit all the notes. 💓

Flying so high! (defying gravity) Kiss me goodbye! (defying gravity) So if you care to find me Look to the western sky! As someone told me lately, "Everyone deserves the chance to fly!" I'm defying gravity! And you won't bring me down, bring me down, bring me down! Ah, ah [echo]
John Paul de Guzman this is wrong
@@vallauritz311 these are the lyrics for Idina's single. These ARE the right lyrics for those who perform the song as a solo and not duet
bro, the chorus and the extra voices just sound like demons or somethin
Cecil Aguila I agree
+Cecil Aguila I want to see a chorus of demons rallying around a girly guy! XD
Is this a -2 pitch or rather a -4 pitch or something else?
Evelyn Keung this is in A major as opposed to the original D flat major key
She turned it down four semitones (halfsteps)
too high
It's made for boys and I still can't hit the notes. I want to cry. Baritone's life
David German i feel you!
David German i can somewhat hit the notes
David German your voice type shouldn’t keep you back.. just train yourself.. especially as a baritone .. you can get it just don’t stop..
I'm an alto and this is just right for me! Haha! The perfect setting for a soprano wannabe! ;-)
Omg
just wow
I CAN'T HANDLE HOW GREAT THIS IS AHHHHH Im also really really happy cuz in the pitch I can belt all the notes at the end IM IN LOVE
CJcan'tART XD. I don't know if I should try. Idk what I am. I feel comfortablr around the 3rd octave. I can belt notes up to G#5 and down to between E2-F2 (without growl). Highest falsetto ever is G6-G#6 and whistle C#8. When I speak and talk to my friends, my voice is between the 2nd and 3rd octave (sometimes also the beginning of the fourth) what am I?
SilverBow FTW If you can belt a G#5 you’re a tenor, or even a countertenor. Most untrained tenors can’t even belt a F#4.
Idina Menzel's voice always seems to work well with male pitch edits
Sounds like drag queens
So true...
What key is this in?
sounds like G major, but i'm not sure.
Toniann Prisco A major.
Yes I believe you are right (A major)
A major
