“Enriched lives in the Rio Grande Valley through access to quality music”

The McAllen Wind Ensemble (formerly the McAllen Town Band) has been in existence since the early 70s and we are currently embarking on our 46th season. The ensemble’s focus continues to be on improving the quality of life in the Rio Grande Valley through regular public concerts, fostering and promoting a greater appreciation of music by the general public, and encouraging continued interest and participation in music by members of the community. The band is under the leadership of Roger Olivarez, and performs in the McAllen Performing Arts Center - without a doubt the best concert venue in the RGV.

Along with 4 season concerts, the band performs at McAllen's Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and the July 4th Celebration at Archer Park. As a non-profit community band, the all-volunteer McAllen Wind Ensemble relies on corporate sponsorships, donations, and membership dues to support its music making endeavors.
